By transcribing one drum solo recorded and performed by myself and another performed by Philly Jo Jones, a drummer I?ve heard and listened to through out my life, I try to find answers to the question: How much are we influenced by the music and the musicians we listen to?My experiment starts with me recording a improvised drum solo and then transcribing it. The object of this essay was about youth's experiences of their possibility of consumption. We also wanted to analyze if their possibility of consumption had a connection with their experience of happiness. Another part of the object was to see if there where any differences between girls and boys concerning the questions above. One of the issues we had was if the youth's money was enough for their needs of consumption. The method we used were a questionnaire, which we asked a class of 22 pupils to fill in.

This thesis is about the interaction between composition, notation and interpretation and what occurs between the fields with an extended notation.The purpose of my thesis is to examine the possibilities tothoroughly describe and map the sounding samples through composition prototypes.The thesis has a qualitative approach, and the empirical material consists of different documents about notation and from interviews with musicians and students about the instruments used in the thesis.It also consists of 17 compositions recorded at Örebro University School of Music as an appendix.The analysis shows that the context in which the symbols are found, play an important role in performing them. The purpose of this essay is to discuss different memory techniques used by pianists so I can feel secure while performing during concerts. How do pianists learn to memorise music? According to me, are certain memorisation techniques more effective than others? Do pianists use different methods depending on repertoire? To find my answers, I have studied two other pianists? outcomes on the subject as well as applied my chosen memorising techniques on five pieces from different epochs. Arbetslösheten är ett stort problem i dagens samhälle både för samhället och för flertalet av dem som hamnar utanför arbetsmarknaden. Det finns både fördomar och myter om hur de arbetslösas situation ser ut och hur denna grupp upplever sin situation. Forskning visar på att de arbetslösas upplevelser påverkas starkt av ekonomisk påfrestning och skamgörande erfarenheter bland flera andra påverkande faktorer.Syftet i studien är att undersöka hur ett antal arbetslösa ungdomar upplever sin situation och vilka konsekvenser arbetslösheten har för dem. Dessutom har studien som syfte att skapa en inblick i och förståelse för vad det är som gör att arbetslösa ungdomar upplever sin situation så olika ifrån individ till individ.Genom en kvalitativ studie med en explorativ ansats har fem arbetslösa ungdomar mellan 22-30 år blivit intervjuade. Dessa intervjuer har med hjälp av sociologiska utgångspunkter så som Jahodas teori om manifesta och latenta funktioner av arbetet, Ezzys tre huvudtyper av reaktioner på arbetslöshet samt Starrins ekonomi-skam modell skapat en större förståelse för de arbetslösa ungdomarnas upplevda konsekvenser av utanförskapet på arbetsmarknaden och hur det kommer sig att arbetslöshetens konsekvenser upplevs olika från individ till individ.

This is an art-remix project that focuses on a dream about art and music remixed and made within a context of nonviolence. The goal is to create temporary (and in the long term hopefully stabile) spaces of peace. It will be done within places where change needs to come, where it needs to be heard/seen/experienced. Weapon exports from Sweden are increasing even though there is research showing that nonviolent resistance in conflict is more effective. In this essay I discuss nonviolence and how I can implement that in my work to find a meaningful work for both me and my neighbours.

Mitt syfte är att beskriva olika föreställningar om samverkan mellan musik och matematik samt erfarenheter och resultat av sådan samverkan i pedagogisk verksamhet. Studien är en litteratur-studie över ST Math + Music. Jag har även intervjuat två lärare på en svensk skola. Jag har be-skrivit samverkan genom överspridningseffekter, musikens inneboende matematik och undervis-ning i matematik med hjälp av musik. Our study describes how much influence and importance Zlatan Ibrahimovic has on a part of Malmö called Rosengård where he himself grew up. We made interviews with 16 children in the ages of six to ten. The theoretic views applied in this study come from Robert Connell?s Notions of masculinity and William Corsaro?s Sociology of childhood. The questions we answer in this study are; if Zlatan has any influence on the children in Rosengård? How do children and media look at Zlatan and the myth that surrounds him? How does the picture of Zlatan Ibrahimovic get constructed amongst the children? How does hegemonic masculinity present itself amongst the peer-cultures of the children in Rosengård? Our study shows that Zlatan has no influence amongst the children we interviewed.

Problem area and purposeNowadays, 2006, the downloading of music and movies is an increasingly more burning issue. But while the music industry has made great progress in using the Internet as a distribution channel the film industry has been at a standstill for several years. Recently however there has been progress in the form of a few film companies beginning to offer their customers legal ways to acquire films over the Internet. But with this progress one central question arises, which this report will try to answer; what are the important factors for selling films as the Internet moves from primarily being a information channel to also functioning as a distribution channel? The purpose is to examine what the consumers find important when purchasing film, and to establish to what degree there is a substitution effect between DVDs and downloadable films.MethodThe report is first and foremost based on an Internet survey with a total of 383 participants.
