Because of the increasing trends in energy consumption and increased environmental awareness, greater focus has been placed on improvement and development of renewable energy sources. An already proven and accepted method is biogas production from anaerobic digestion at municipal wastewater treatment plants.In the waste water treatment process solid material and dissolved pollutants are separated from the water, forming a sludge. The sludge is separated from the process and stabilized during anaerobic digestion or aerobic aeration. Most often, mesophilic anaerobic digestion is used. Because of degradation by microorganisms, biogas with a high content of methane is formed during the digestion.

För nyinflyttade och besökare styr stadens orienterbarhet vad vi upplever genom att stadens platser är olika lätta att hittat. Hur vi upplever staden påverkas av i vilken mån vi förstår dess uppbyggnad och känner oss välkomnade. Men även alla som länge bott i staden har glädje av att den är logiskt strukturerad. Om vi kan röra oss på ett effektivt sätt kan vi snabbare uträtta ärenden. En tydlig bild av omgivningen är en förutsättning för att ge hemstaden betydelse, och det är en grund för känslan av gemenskap och samhörighet i staden.

AbstractIn the beginning of 2007 the Swedish municipality Örebro decided to have a democraticexperiment, which ought to go under the name, ?Dialouge for the citizens?. Therepresentative elected politicians in Örebro tried to find ways to involve the people in theprocess of ruling. Why they choose to try this experiment on this very delicate matter, theclosure of several schools in the municipal, is one of the questions this essay is trying toanswer.The purpose of this essay is to find out whether the process was an attempt for the politiciansof the representative democracy to implement deliberative democracy in the structure of thelocal governance.The result of this study is that the politicians didn?t manage to reach to the citizens the waythey formerly had planned..

Sammanfattning Landskrona kommun och stad växer. Inflyttningstakten har ökat stadigt och befolkningen i kommunen beräknas öka med cirka 3300 invånare till 2015. Det har under en tid byggts många nya enfamiljshus utanför Landskrona stad. I direkt anslutning till Landskrona har det börjat bli en brist på tillgänglig mark för nyexploateringar. När den nya järnvägsstationen anlades, lokaliserades den till den östra stadsgränsen och det är utifrån denna station som nya stadsbyggnads- planer har utgått. Detta kan fungera bra men innebär ett stort avstånd till Landskronas befintliga centrum. Ett område som fortfarande är intressant för nybyggnation är Väster industriområde. Detta är ett stort verksamhetsområde beläget direkt söder om Landskrona centrum. Med en effektivare funktionsindelning och omorganisation bör det vara möjligt att bebygga området med mellan 1000-2000 nya bostäder.

There are numerous questions to be asked when your task is to plan a small community?s future development. Is it possible to suggest something new and modern? What considerations should be taken concerning the existing situation? What is an appropriate size for the new development? Where is it possible to build and what is the most appropriate method to use?In this master´s thesis I have tried to develop and describe a working-process where I execute a complete landscape character analysis for the whole community in question to get the answers to where and how it would be most appropriate to develop a village like Flädie without destroying its current character.Flädie is a typical small village in the countryside of Skåne, Sweden. It is strongly effected by the expansive and urban region it?s located in but is still rural in character.

Our interest about interdisciplinary teaching has grown during our time at Högskolan Dalarna and especially during the subject physical education. It became clear that people learn in different ways. The theoretical education in school benefits the visual and auditory strong learners but the kinesthetic strong learners find it more difficult to absorb the information. We argue that integrating subjects is a good way to mix theory and practice and thus gives more students an opportunity to learn the content of the subject. The intention of this examination paper is to investigate the relationship between the attitudes of the teachers regarding interdisciplinary teaching, the practical restrains, possibilities and the presence of interdisciplinary teaching at three different schools.

This study is about the perception of politics in social work. The aim of the study was to seehow people working with social work in municipalities describe their perception of how politicsaffect their work. The study was conducted in two municipalities in middle Sweden,which had a transfer of power in the 2006 election. Six people; two social workers, two executivedirectors and two politicians was interviewed about their perceptions about politics, ifthe ideological direction of the municipal matters, and how politics effect social work and theorganization. Tidigare har människan skyddat sig från översvämningar med hjälp av tekniska strukturer som vallar och barriärer. De senaste 10-20 åren har det i flera europeiska länder skett ett skifte från dessa tekniska lösningar mot ett ?mjukare? handlingssätt för att förebygga och hantera översvämningar i policydokument och rekommendationer från ansvariga myndigheter.

To thoroughly think with safety and security in mind is an important issue in planning of public city spaces. Spaces intended to be available to all inhabitants of a city should have a welcoming appearance. Unfortu-nately, this is not the situation in many pedestrian walkways, parks and such spaces, possibly due to lack in safety and security. This master thesis intend to examine questions at this issue ? what makes you feel safe and what causes insecurity in public city spaces. The safety aspect treats the human psychological and sociological ways of perceiving her milieu and other humans in it, and how the physical shape of her surroundings can affect the sense of safety.

Sveriges demografiska utveckling visar att fler och fler bor i tätorter samtidigt som resandet ökar. Det skapar efterfrågan på bostäder i tätorter med god tillgång till kommunikationer. Boende nära kollektivtrafiknoder ger god tillgång till transporter samt möjlighet för god service, men en av dess baksidor är buller. Bostäder i tätorter planeras genom detaljplaner. Kommunen är ansvarig för planeringen samt att ta andra aktörers åsikter i beaktning.

ABSTRACTDuring the last decades, environmental impacts have increased significantly, much due to the great traffic flows within cities. Therefore, to reduce these impacts and encourage a healthy way of living, it has in recent years become vital to generate safer and more sustainable and flexible modes of transportation. In order to do so, authorities and physical planners must work together to find viable solutions to incorporate in the infrastructure and offer alternative transport modes ? such as walking, cycling and public transportation. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the development of the cycling infrastructure in the city of Västerås and whether it is possible to expand bicycle commuting alongside public transportation. The thesis consequently aims to study how different physical planners within Västerås municipality work with traffic related questions.

The number of parties in the Swedish parliament has increased from five to eight during the last twenty years. The political agenda is still based on a two-block system with the consequences that the number of parties in each block has increased. To be represented in the parliament, a party needs at least four per cent of the total votes in the election. If only one party fails to achieve that, the whole block will lose the election to the other block. This could encourage voters to vote tactically for the small parties in the block to ensure that the block wins the election.

Swedish libraries are currently discussing andimplementing the classification system Dewey (DDC).Most libraries in Sweden have used the Swedishclassification system SAB until recently. In 2008 TheRoyal Library of Sweden (KB) decided to switch fromSAB to DDC. Many academic libraries chose to followKB?s example and by January 2011 a switch was made atKB and at many academic libraries.The aim of this master thesis is to examine and analysethe library sector?s discussion that occurred before andduring the Swedish switch from SAB to DDC. The mainquestion asked is; What is being discussed about Dewey2010-2011 and in what manner? To organize and anlysethis discussion discourse analysis is used.

Grönstrukturen är en av de övergripande strukturerna i vårt samhälle tillsammans med bebyggelsestruktur och infrastruktur. Alla olika funktioner som grönstrukturen har kan i sin tur delas in i tre övergripande grupper med: sociala, ekologiska och kulturella funktionsvärden. Det är ofta så att de sociala och kulturella värdena inte får lika stor tyngd vid beslutsfattande. Då är de främst de ekologiska funktionerna som går före eftersom den befintliga naturen har t.ex. skyddsvärda arter. Det finns olika sätt att planera ett områdes grönstruktur som saknar befintlig grönska: Patrik Grahns åtta parkkaraktärer tillsammans med typaktiviteterna med sina tydliga inriktningar och konkreta innehåll kan ligga till grund för och inspirera till nya parker och grönområden.
