The purpose of the essay Multi criteria analysis of potential conflicts concerning land use planning - natural stone mining in Lysekil municipal is to study possibilities and limitations in GIS based multi criteria analysis as a tool for land use planning. How GIS based multi criteria analysis can be implemented to localize potential conflict areas between natural stone mining and other land use activities and what advantages and disadvantages the method holds are the main issues of this study. The essay studies these questions through a case study, concerning the geographical area of Lysekil municipal in western Sweden and problematizes the interest of natural stone mining in relation to other land use interests. A literature study was carried through, concerning multi criteria analysis and planning. After collecting and processing of data the multi criteria analysis could be implemented in the ArcGIS tool Weighted Sum.

In Sweden exist a Swedish institute for children?s book which is a national information center. They have an annual "Book tasting" where they present statistics and trends from the latest publications of literature for youth and children.In their ?book tasting?? from 2010 a number of picture books had, as they say, children who descend from non-Swedish culture (Swedish institute for children?s book, 2010). The aim of this thesis is to investigate how the ethnical diversity describes in these picture books from 2010. To understand how the ethnical diversity describes in these books I had two questions which helped me in my research.

The thesis demonstrates a low-cost, low-bandwidth and low-resolution Analog-to- Digital Converter(ADC) in 0.35 um CMOS Process. A second-order Sigma-Delta modulator is used as the basis of the A/D Converter. A Semi-Uniform quantizer is used with the modulator to take advantage of input distributions that are dominated by smaller-amplitude signals e.g. Audio, Voice and Image-sensor signals. A Single-bit feedback topology is used with a multi-bit quantizer in the modulator.

Botten är implementerad i C++ och den kan spela mot andra bottar, eller människor, genom Arimaas officiella hemsida. Syftet har varit att skapa en fullfjädrad bot som både klarar av att spela korrekt, och att spela bra. För att ta reda på om MAS är en bra designfilosofi för Arimaa så har vi utmanat ett antal av de bottar som andra människor skapat och lagt upp på hemsidan. Alla bottarna har under tiden de legat uppe blivit rankade genom tävlingar och utmaningar och flera av dessa har tävlat om stora pengar, vilket betyder att människor har lagt mycket tid på dem.

Dynamisk binär översättning är en teknik för att köra program kompilerade för en plattform på en annan inkompatibel plattform. Tekniken finns bland annat implementerad i många konsolemulatorer, men det finns även andra exempel där tekniken använts, t.ex. vid arkitekturskiften. Nära besläktade områden är dynamisk kompilering och dynamisk optimering. För att undersöka tekniken (dynamisk översättning) närmare implementerades den i en, redan färdig, interpretativ (switch-baserad) Chip-8 emulator.

Profit in first commercial thinnings of today is hard to achieve. This is because of prevailing pulpwood prices and because of high costs of logging and transport. To reduce these costs higher productivity is advocated. One way to increase the productivity is the use of multi-tree handling harvester heads. The aim of this study was to calculate logging and transport costs in first thinnings, where multi-tree handling has been used.

The phenomenon of media convergence can be traced back to the birth of the internet, and today all of the major newspapers have a website of their own. As a result of multichannel publishing, consumers have a wide range of tv channels to choose from, but there is still uncertainty as to whether more channels automatically equates to more and better news. There is no doubt about the fact that multi channel publishing is a necessary survival skill for media conglomerates today, but effects such as news recycling and the concentration of ownership are in conflict with the consumers? availability demands.Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to, by means of a case study, describe how NT?s multi channel publishing is an expression of media convergence, as well as to study how the news are affected by multi channel publishing.Research procedure: This study is based on three different research methods, observations, text analyses and qualitative interviews.

Projektet har utförts ur ett bokförlags perspektiv och förklarar Natur & Kulturs byte av teknisk plattform för deras digitala läromedel. Detta projekt var ett delprojekt och delades in i tre faser: FAS 1: Förstudie, FAS 2: Genomförande och FAS 3: Analys och utvärdering. Syftet med projektet är dels att ge en helhetssyn över hur bytet skett i praktiken inom bokförlaget, och dels undersöka målgruppens förväntning på den nya tekniska plattformen. Projektets mål är att producera två titlar i produktions- och publiceringsverktyget 3D Issue, med utgivning höstterminen 2015. Metoderna som har använts i det här projektet är: intervju och en sammanställning av Natur & Kulturs enkätstudie, och en variation av deltagande observation.

För att åstadkomma samarbete mellan agenter i dataspel har utvecklare under lång tid använt sig av traditionella AI-tekniker såsom skriptning och tillståndsmaskiner. Dessa tekniker har dock ett flertal problem som gör att alternativa tekniker där samarbete istället evolveras fram blir intressanta att studera. I detta arbete har effekterna av egenskaperna begränsade synfält, brusig indata samt hinder på evolution av samarbete med en sådan teknik, Multi-Component ESP, utvärderats.En experimentmiljö utvecklades baserad på samarbetsproblemet CMOMMT. I denna miljö utfördes sedan fem olika experiment där respektive egenskap först testades enskilt och sedan alla tre i kombination. Resultaten av dessa visade att ingen av egenskaperna enskilt har någon effekt men däremot att kombinationen av alla egenskaper har en stark negativ effekt på evolutionen.

Young women with immigrant background are generally looked upon as victims of patriarchal structures and cultural determinism.The purpose of this bachelor thesis was therefore to have a salutogen perspective. We investigated how young women with a transcultural background are affected by and how they use their experiences from different backgrounds in their creating of identity.We based our essay on qualitative interviews and current research on the subjects of multi culture, identity and youth. The interviewees were seven young women with experience of multi cultural background and performing different kind of artistic activity.The theory and empirical material combined and compared resulted in three themes: affinity, cultural hybridization, and salutogen factors.We saw that for those young women affinity functioned as a basis for creating identity and that their double background enriches them in several aspects. The three major salutogen factors that the interviewees had in common, and we emphasize, are their struggle, open mind and awareness of freedom.The global youth culture has a great impact upon the young women and to some extent we could recognize cultural hybridization. We consider this neglected subject urgent and very relevant for social work in the multi cultural society of Sweden..

Avancerad program- och funktionsstudie i form av multi-use-byggnad uppbyggd kring ett badhus i urban miljö i stadsdelen Fenway i Boston. Byggnadens huvudteman är "den klättrande parken" och "bakom muren". Det förstnämna genom att det befintliga parkrummet invid byggnaden tematiskt ges en förlängning in i byggnaden och trappar sig uppåt i badets olika nivåer för att mynna i en södervänd takträdgård och soldäck högst upp. Temat kring muren uttrycks genom en massiv långsträckt byggnad mot gatan som skärmar av det södervända badet från den trafikerade gatan. Mot parkens lummiga träd vänder sig ett tredje objekt i form en glasad byggnad i fyra plan med café/restaurang och bibliotek med läsrum och studieplatser..

Signalspaning har sedan länge varit en förmåga som Sverige genomfört och under kalla kriget blev det klart att ge-nomförandet av dessa uppdrag inte var helt ofarliga. Med hänsyn till att det nuvarande systemet är påväg att bli äldre bör en planering av ett ersättande system vara lämpligt att genomföra i närtid.Syftet med föreliggande Studie är att genom en systemanalys kunna finna en lämplig ersättare till den nuvarande plattformen för signalspaning, Gulfstream GIV-SP. Det system som har använts som jämförande plattform är den obemannade plattformen Global Hawk vilket är en toppmodern farkost framtagen av USA som en strategisk UAV. Plattformarna har för att få relevans jämförts emot de grundläggande förmågorna Underrättelse/Information, Uthållig-het samt Skydd vilket medför att prestandan kopplas till dessa.Resultatet av uppsatsen påvisar att prestandamässigt kopplat mot de grundläggande förmågorna så är Global Hawk bättre än det nuvarande systemet och de skillnader som en UAV medför är positiva. Vad gäller just underrättelse så är systemen relativt lika potenta men när det gäller uthållighet och skydd är den obemannade plattformen framstående.Slutsatsen av studien är att Global Hawk just nu är en plattform som kostnad sett är för dyr för det svenska försvaret och är på så sätt inte aktuell i närtid.

This thesis work is the last part of the Master of Science education inmechanical engineering at KTH, Stockholm.The aim of this project was the development of a Multi-zone modelfor NOxformation in Diesel engines. Because of the stringent emissionlegislations, great effort is made to decrease the fuel consumption and theharmful emissions of internal combustion engines. Computer simulationsplay a decisive role in this context because they substitute the expensiveand time-consuming laboratory tests.The model is based on a multi-zone approach and uses the wellknownExtended Zeldovich Mechanism which gives a relation to calculatethe NO formation rate using the concentration of different gas speciesinvolved in the process.All the most important phenomena involved in the Diesel combustionhave been modelled. A special attention is then paid to the equilibriumconcentration calculation; this is a significant part of the model whichstrongly influences the following steps.A Simulink model has also been developed. This second version isbased on the previous model and it is made especially to allow theconnection with other external softwares, GT-power in this case.
