The aim of this essay is to investigate which of the goals in the syllabus, and with that what knowledge of Swedish, four students taking the SFI (Swedish for Immigrants) level 3 course believed themselves to have attained and to compare their self-assessments with their results on the National Test of Swedish for adult immigrants.The method used for the investigation is the individual interview. In addition to taking the National Test, the participants in the investigation were asked to mark the goals they believe themselves to have attained.The results show that the informants who best demonstrated awareness of their own knowledge are able to talk freely about their knowledge and difficulties, and when they mark the goals they believe they have attained, these correspond, on the whole, to how they responded in the interviews.One of the informants finds it more difficult than the others to assess her knowledge. A comparison between her experiences and the National Test results revealed several inconsistencies. For example, she claims that she can communicate in Swedish, but still she didn?t pass the test..

This thesis is intended to respond to the extent to which South African textbooks on the subject of history is linked to the governmental policy documents and whether they are producing and reproducing national identity. The two textbooks are aimed at students in grade 10. Both books were produced in 2008 but published by different publishers.The essay is based on Norman Faircloughs critical discourse theory which has been supplemented by Michael Billings theory Banal Nationalism, which assumes that it is the national words that remind us daily of our homeland that is producing and reproducing national identity.  The survey shows that both textbooks are closely tied to the government policy document for the teaching of history. The textbooks refer to the policy, both explicitly and implicitly. The two textbooks reproduce a common national identity in South Africa based on the discussions taking place in society.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka om det finns några skillnader mellan svenska och amerikanska bankers årsredovisningar när det gäller kapitaltäckningsreglerna. För att kunna undersöka syftet har jag har undersökt fyra svenska bankers och fyra amerikanska bankers öppenhet i respektive årsredovisning. De banker jag använt mig av är Nordea, FöreningsSparbanken, Handelsbanken, Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken, Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase Bank, CitiBank och the Bank of NewYork. Öppenheten i respektive banks årsredovisning undersökte jag genom att göra en innehållsanalys över kapitaltäckningsreglerna. Dessutom har jag gjort en undersökning för att se om det finns något samband mellan öppenheten och bankernas karaktäristiska.

Studies have shown that mergers and acquisitions often fail and that a reason to this might be that investment banks do not take any responsibility for the post merger integration. Despite this there have been no studies of the potential benefits of an investment bank taking a holistic approach to the M&A-process and including post merger integration in its service. This study identifies a couple of investment banks that does this and calls them holistic investment banks. In M&A-theory a successful process is often described according to so called success factors that need to be fulfilled in order to achieve a successful result of the merger or acquisition. The business model and work approach of one holistic investment bank is analyzed in this case study on the base of seven success factors from established theories.

Denna uppsats handlar om de val som görs vid bevarande av historiska trädgårdar inom National Trust, en av Englands största förvaltare av historiska trädgårdar, samt hur dessa val påverkar den historia som berättas på platsen. De tre frågeställningar som behandlas i uppsatsen är: (1) Hur beslutar National Trust vilken historia som ska berättas på platsen? (2) Vilka riktlinjer och bevarandeprinciper ligger till grund för dessa beslut? och (3) Hur har National Trust omsatt riktlinjerna vid restaureringarna av National Trusts trädgård på Standen? Syftet är att synliggöra valen, på vilka grunder de fattas och genom att ställa detta i relation till hur den slutliga utformningen blivit få en bild av hur National Trust väljer att berätta en plats historia. I den första delen görs en genomgång av trädgårdsbevarandets historia inom National Trust, teoretiska begrepp samt riktlinjer och strategier som är aktuella i dagsläget. I den andra delen görs en fallstudie av en anläggning där det för närvarande pågår ett restaureringsprojekt, Standen. I den tredje delen diskuteras de tre frågeställningar mot bakgrund av litteratur, dokument, intervjuer och platsbesök. Genom att analysera hur förändringar har genomförts på Standen jämförs hur riktlinjerna och principerna implementerats och hur detta påverkar den berättelse som presenteras för besökaren. Slutsatsen från uppsatsen är att National Trust har genomfört ett omfattande förändrings-­ och moderniseringsarbete under 2000-talet som lett till att de lokala anläggningarna fått ett betydande inflytande över hur en plats betydelse uttrycks. National Trusts riktlinjer utgår från internationellt erkända dokument såsom Florensdeklarationer och Burra charter men de också utvecklat egna strategier för att öka det lokala engagemanget och tillgängligheten som framgångsrikt implementerats på Standen. Besluten om vilken historia som ska berättas har fattats i nära samarbete med centrala organ inom National Trust, medan besluten om hur den berättas i stor utsträckning sker lokalt..

Our aim in this study is to explore if the schoolchildren?s written language differs from the?National tests? in Swedish and from Facebook. We specifically want to see if we candiscover words and expressions mainly from the English language or other languages in the?National tests? in Swedish written by the schoolchildren in the ages between 18-20 yearsold. The methods that we used to discover the results in this study was; to interview threeteachers, have 30 schoolchildren answer a questionnaire survey, analyze 30 written ?Nationaltests? in Swedish by the schoolchildren and finally analyze two Facebook walls from twoschoolchildren.

Värderingen av en banks verksamhet och riskerna kopplade till stabilitet är svårare att bedöma i en bank än för ett icke finansiellt företag. Vikten att identifiera de nyckeltal som kan förutspå stabilitet i den enskilda banken och minska bristen på transparens leder till forskningsfrågan: Vilka nyckeltal har ett högt prognosvärde när det gäller att utvärdera huruvida en bank kan anses vara stabil utifrån ett externt perspektiv?Syfte: Det övergripande syftet med uppsatsen är att finna nyckeltal som kan användas för att prognostisera stabiliteten i en bank.Metod: För att uppnå syftet med studien presenteras en litteraturgenomgång som karaktäriserar en stabil bank och riskerna kopplade till verksamheten.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the difference in return between Swedish and Russian hedge funds while considering the risk taken.Method: This study is based on quantitative data on funds' historical returns from the electronic database Morningstar.se. Additional data is taken from the funds websites, the Swedish National Bank and Fondbolagens förening.Result and conclusion: All hedge funds, both the Russian and Swedish performed better thanthe index. Banker utgör en kritisk och viktig del av samhället, parallellt med detta diskuterasföretags roll och ansvar i samhället idag i stor omfattning. Debatten är inte ny och harunder en längre tid diskuterats i den akademiska litteraturen och det mediala rummet.I dessa sammanhang nämns ofta begreppet corporate social responsibility (CSR).Begreppet är omdiskuterat och det råder ingen konsensus kring exempelvisdefinitioner av begreppet. Det kan göra det luddigt att arbeta med dessa frågor ochoklart vad det innebär.Författarnas syfte med denna studie är att presentera en modell vilken kan ligga somgrund för en bank som vill integrera CSR i sina affärsprocesser. Författarnaåstadkommer detta genom extensiva litteraturstudier och en mindre empiriskinsamling där både svenska storbanker och en mindre nischbank studeras.Tillvägagångssättet gör att modellen har god teoretisk förankring och kan användas aven bank som vill integrera CSR i sina affärsprocesser. Modellen utgår från treansvarsområden; ett juridiskt, ett ekonomiskt och ett etiskt.

Swedish contract law is based on the main principle of freedom of contract, which means that a contract is built on a voluntary agreement of both parties. There are exceptions from the principle of freedom of contract. In some instances a party is obliged to contract (kontraheringsplikt), which also is the subject for this paper. Kontraheringsplikt can be described as an obligation for one of the parts in a relation to come to an agreement under normal circumstances with everyone who ask for it. The cases of kontraheringsplikt are rather different.

Budgetens vara eller icke vara har under längre perioder varit ett omdiskuterat ämne, och ett flertal artiklar har skirivit om huruvida budget är ett lämpligt styrverktyg eller ej. Å ena sidan har budgeten starkt kritiserats, å andra sidan har flertalet undersökningar mellan 1997-2002 påvisat att budget fortfarande används i stor utsträckning. Hur budgetsitutationen ser ut idag verkar till synes något mindre utforskat.Huvudsyftet med studien har varit att undersöka vad Handelsbanken, Swedbank samt Länsförsäkringar Bank anser om den omtalade budgeten. Dessutom, om det visar sig budgeten fortfarande används, försöka undersöka de bakomliggande orsakerna till detta. För att genomföra studien har personliga intrevjuer med kontorscheferna på respektive bank genomförts.Slutligen kan det konstateras att synen på budget fortafarande är något tudelad.

When discussing nation branding, there are three perspectives that correlate with each other: National Identity, Nation Brand Identity and Nation Brand Image. This thesis explores the nation branding of Sweden, and describe the three perspectives with a focus on Sweden. When comparing how the perspectives are comported with each other, there is the possibility of gaps existing when one perspective does not comport with another. We have compared our empirical material on the different perspectives and looked for possible gaps..

This essay has an aim to map out the discourses in the debate around local self government and national equivalence, which are both essential democratic values. The essay is delimited to the area of the comprehensive school. Interviews have been made with key persons in different positions in a selected municipality. I also use material that has been written in the context of Ansvarskommittén. The material is analysed using an integrated discourse analysis.
