The aim of this Bachelor´s thesis is to investigate how library statistics, performance measurement and indicators represent the modern public library activity. During the last decades the public library has gone through a lot of changes. Information overall has increased and new technology has been introduced into the library. This new development has had effects on the library users. The statistics reported to the Statens kulturråd (National Arts Council) has not changed in the same way.

Quantitative methods have chiefly been used in the essay. Then communication has been classified in two main forms: constructive and destructive language communication. This paper aims to describe and elaborate on a recent discursive change within the new-age movement. Since the seventies and the publishing of speculative popular science books like The Tao of Physics by Fritjof Capra and The self-aware universe by Amit Goswami, the idea that quantum physics resonates with spirituality has become the topic of hundreds of books and movies.The quantum-spiritual discourse has three distinct ways to approach quantum physics in its discussion on spirituality: The parallelistic approach which emphasizes the similarities between eastern philosophies and modern physics, the monistic-idealistic approach which tells us that mind is the foundation of matter and the scientific spiritual approach which tries to explain spiritual claims scientifically. In the quantum-spiritual discourse, quantum physical phenomena (e.g. non-locality and entanglement) are being called upon to validate metaphysical statements. The primary assumption of the discourse is that the shift of paradigm due to the establishment of modern physics also is a shift of paradigm of spirituality.With the object to examine the common claims made in the discourse, cross-references between spiritual arguments and facts of quantum physics are being made.

E-learning kan vara en teknik som får en avgörande roll för både individers och organisationers utveckling framöver. E-learning kan definieras som ett koncept för att distribuera utbildning och lärande via Internet eller ett lokalt nätverk. En e-learningapplikation kan ses som en relativt ny typ av informationssystem vars syfte är att öka användarens kunskaper inom ett aktuellt område. Denna rapport undersöker huruvida det finns någon skillnad mellan att utveckla ett traditionellt informationssystem och en webbaserad e-learningapplikation.

De flesta företag och myndigheter behandlar olika typer av ärenden, och ett ärende involverar ofta flera personer innan det är färdigbehandlat. Ju större organisation, desto större risk för kommunikationsproblem. Om kommunikationen sker från mun till mun leder det lätt till missuppfattningar. Om inte ärendet dokumenteras riktigt, är det lätt att information om specifika ärenden tappas bort. Vi ställde oss frågan ifall kvalitén på den interna ärendehanteringsprocessen ökar om man använder sig av ett anpassat ärendehanteringssystem när det gäller informationshanteringen.

I min uppsats vill jag inbjuda till en alternativ tolkning av Hjalmar Söderbergs Martin Bircks ungdom (1901). Syftet med uppsatsen är att ge förståelse för Martin Bircks karaktär och handlande genom att belysa den centrala relationen mellan Martin och modern. För att analysera Martins psykologi ställs hans gestalt mot den historiska samtidens uppfattningar om psykologi. Jag har även använt mig av ett psykoanalytiskt angreppssätt, framför allt grundat på Sigmund Freuds idéer, vilket fungerar både som litterär teori och metod.I min undersökning har jag funnit att Martin är en neurotisk person som lider av många av de psykiska problem som var vanliga runt 1900-talets sekelskifte, så som neurasteni. Jag har i enlighet med freudiansk psykoanalys tolkat Martins neuros som grundad i en inre konflikt mellan detet och överjaget.

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to examine how young womens sexuality is described in Swedish youth novels. The analysis is based upon eight books of which four were published during the period from 1970 to 1975 and four books were published during 2000 to 2005. The theoretical framework is based on a gender theoretical perspective where Yvonne Hirdmans theories about a gender system and Ylva Elwin-Nowaks and Heléne Thomssons ideas about gender construction are crucial. Also Anthony Giddens theories about sexuality in the late modern society are used, where the plastic sexuality and the pure relationship are central ideas. The method is based upon textual analysis, and a model of analysis is constructed with its basis in the theoretical attempt.

Today many sociologists speak about the modern world and the god and bad that it brings. In association to this discussion there is a tendency to speak about an increased individualization, a process that often also means more choices and possibilities. But in addition to this follows a big responsibility for how we choose to live our lives, since our choices not seldom also influences other people, both locally and globally. The aim of this essay is to investigate the importance of non-profit organizations with social direction in our Swedish welfare society and thereby also in a modern world where people's individual choices are becoming all more important. In order to answer my main issue I have implemented thirteen qualitative interviews, of which ten of the informers are from different non-profit organizations and three from different stately authorities.

Projects concerning information technology are difficult to manage and tend to fail in quality, time or costs. Scrum presents a new view of the system development. Better cooperation between customers and developers, continuous follow-up on daily basis and extensive communication in the development team are all characteristics of Scrum. Scrum is described as a new paradigm by its founders but has been criticized by experts of system development too.

During the beginning of the 19th century Sweden is effected by the Napoleonic Wars and in the aftermath of the war Sweden looses Finland to Russia. This loss leads to the dismissal of King Gustav IV Adolf and the introduction of the Bernadotte dynasty on the Swedish throne. Over the century the industrialization plays a big part in the progress of Sweden. The growth of the industries leads to developments in the areas of agriculture. With this essay I would like to examine if the people on the countryside of Gotland keep the same pace as the people on the mainland in their introduction of new things.
