Att utvärdera AdApt, ett multimodalt konverserande dialogsystem, med PARADISE
This master?s thesis presents experiences from an evaluation of AdApt, a multi- Modal, conversational dialogue system, using PARADISE, PARAdigm for Dialogue System Evaluation, a general framework for evaluation. The purpose of this master?s thesis was to assess PARADISE as an evaluation tool for such a system. An experimental study with 26 subjects was performed.
Typografins tolkning : En undersökning av typografins betydelse vid tolkning av text
This paper addresses the question about what role typography plays in the interpretation of a text. From three different handbooks in typography arguments are gathered and categorized in to three categories: roman types, san serif and others. Interviews with people from the graphic design area are also a part of the paper and are accounted for in the discussion part of the paper. Areas of theory are a broad hermeneutic view based on Hans-Georg Gadamers thoughts, which have sub categories such as: Michel Foucault?s theory about discourses, John Swales genre theory and Anders Björkvall?s thoughts on typography and multi-Modal texts.
Målarens musik - Harmoniska metoder för modal musik
Title: Strokes of music - Harmonic methods for Modal music.The aim of this paper is to develop harmonic methods for music based on different modes or scales. It begins with an exploration of the music of Claude Debussy and then goes on with other methods and scales and also includes an analytic chapter and results at the end. With "strokes of music" I mean a musical technique, which has some parallels to how a painter can choose colors and palettes to express what he is looking for ? the freedom to choose between colors and palettes, or in music tones and scales ? to move between them by sudden or leading modulations, from the diatonic scales with alternative formations, to the symmetric spheres, to the melodic pentatonic scales and other alternative new formations, using plateauic solutions or chords in diatonic, functional and non-functional progressions. A scale can be used as tonality or subordinated and the harmonic rhythm can be both with no movement and fast paced.Syftet med detta dokument är att utveckla harmoniska metoder för musik som bygger på olika modus eller skalor.

The transport sector is one of the biggest pollutants in the European Union. In relation to
transport policies and environmental policies, interModal transportation solutions are of high
relevance to establish a sustainable transport sector for the future. InterModality which is
defined as smooth transition between transport modes is a key figure for how Modal shares
are divided between the modes of transportation. The aim of this bachelor?s thesis is to
examine the research gap whether policies intended for a specific transport mode affects each
other in relation to EU policies intended for interModality.
Utilitarism i en modalrealistisk kontext
David Lewis heter upphovsmannen till den kontroversiella teorin som kallas Modal realism. Den Modala realismens syfte är att förklara vad det innebär för en möjlig sats att vara just möjlig. Teorin säger att det måste finnas en värld vari sådana satser får sin satisfiering. Därför är alla möjligheter aktualiserade någonstans och allt som kan hända händer i någon av alla möjliga världar. Lewis menade dessutom att hans teori inte tolererar moralteorier såsom en universalistisk utilitarism, eftersom summan av gott och ont i totaliteten av alla världar med nödvändighet måste vara fixerad enligt den Modala realismen.
CARABAS III Konstruktion av antenninstallation på helikopter
This report describes the construction work of a radar antenna for the radar systemCARABAS. CARABAS is a long wave airborne ground radar that has been developed bySAAB Microwave Systems and will now be mounted on a small helicopter, Schweizer 300.The antenna should be able to fold up and down. When the radar is in use the antenna islowered and under transport, start and landing the antenna is folded up. An emergency dropfunction should also be included in the design of CARABAS III.The extent of this report includes construction of the antenna, frame structure attached to thehelicopter, mechanism for folding the antenna up and down and mechanism for emergencydrop function. The mechanical design of the antenna and frame structure is based on Modaland stress analysis, vibration measurement of Schweizer 300 and frequency analysis, andcalculations regarding aerodynamic drag and mechanics.The exciting frequencies of the helicopter and accelerations at those frequencies weredetermined by vibration measurement and frequency analysis.

This Degree Project was about finding the best loudspeaker placement in a heavyweight truck and also the best suited loudspeaker for this task. The project took place in Södertälje, Sweden, on behalf of Scania CV AB. The goal was to create a new listening environment in a truck cabinet.The results were accomplished by the performance of a few different tasks. First a benchmark was made on Scanias top competitors. Second a listening test was made to get an apprehension of what people find lacking in the sound reproduction of the sound system.
Mellan A-traktor och skönlitteratur : Didaktiska metoder i undervisningen
The purpose of my project is to determine how a multiModal/intermedial text can be used when teaching in upper secondary school. Can using a text that to some point is current in the pupils? lives lift the interest for the specific subject? I opted to pick up Gunther Kress? research, Diana Laurillard?s book and Christina Olin-Scheller?s work on the subject. I have used several hours of lesson planning and the lesson itself with subsequent work consisting, among other things, of three qualitative interviews to achieve my purpose. Based on a qualitative approach, I discuss the results, which show that it is in fact very uplifting.

In this paper, a navigation support approach for speech-only interaction based on auditory icons for room-based designs is presented, i.e. naturally occurring sounds that have a natural mapping to the system's underlying design metaphor. In contrast to many recent investigations that have focused on multi-Modal or augmented reality systems, this paper concerns a uniModal speech and sound-only system. An auditory icon based prototype system for buildings maintenance support using a room-based metaphor was developed. The design was evaluated in a comparison with earcons and no-sound designs.

Tidigare forskning visar på att det under de senaste decennierna skett en tydlig förflyttning av modeindustrins produktionsenheter, till utvecklingsländer med låga lönevillkor. Sveriges förhållandevis höga löne- och energikostnader, tillsammans med en strikt miljöpolitisk agenda, har resulterat i att svensk textil- och klädindustri kontinuerligt reducerats sedan 1960-talet. Trots den industriella nedrustningen, köper svenska konsumenter idag 15 kilo textil per capita, vilket är mer än någonsin.

Individers agerande vid investerings- och avyttringsbeslut i aktier - en analys av regret theorys giltighet
Resultaten av vår undersökning visar på att vi generellt sett inte kan säga om individuella investerare agerar enligt regret theory eller inte. En del resultat tyder dock på att vissa effekter inom teorin är applicerbar på individuella investerare. Vi kan urskilja trender som tyder på att individen beter sig på ett visst sett och resonerat kring varför han beter sig så. Individen föredrar alltid det säkra alternativet om förluster eller stora vinster står på spel. Om skillnaden i säkerhet är väldigt liten försummar han den.

Under ett samarbete med underklädesbutiken Bornevings har information om textila materialtagits fram. Butiken erbjuder alltid god service när det gäller utprovning av plagg men saknarbaskunskaper om textila material och hur de tillverkas. Textil informationen har tagits framför att underlätta detta problem. Kunskapsbristen kommer nu att eliminerats så personalen kanerbjuda den bästa servicen.För att få reda på hur informationen på bästa sätt skulle redovisas för butiken studeradespedagogik. Inlärning fungerar olika för alla, vissa tar till sig bilder medan andra lättare kanregistrera text.
Realistisk restidsberäkning för comodal reseplanering
With increasing traffic congestion problems in bigger cities, it is becoming more and more important to provide the traveller with correct information about all transport alternatives. When doing that, the traveller gets the opportunity to make the best decision based on the current traffic situation. Instead of traditional travel planners, where public and private transport modes are presented separately, the co-Modal travel planner offers a combination. In order to make the comparison correct and fair, the travel times have to be estimated realistically and on equal basis. This master thesis focuses on how to estimate travel times in the city of Stockholm for journeys by cars, public transport, bicycles and also for walking.An investigation of the available data on maps and travel times shows where the currently used methods are lacking.
