A pilot study conducted on four patients, which we received from the Sahlgrenska University Hospital, who were all potential candidates for a cochlear implant. We fitted our test subjects with a pair of frequency compressing hearing aids called Phonak Naida V SP during the study and let them evaluate them for about seven weeks. Measurements made with monosyllabic words throughout the study showed significant differences in speech perception (p?0.05) compared to their regular hearing aids in 3 out of 4 cases. De-activation of the frequency transposed function showed significant decreases in 3 out of 4 cases compared to when it was activated.All test subjects were satisfied with the new hearing aids and chose to keep using them at the end of the study..

Denna studie är en litteraturstudie med syftet att se hur kunskapen ser ut om hörselskadade barns psykosociala situation samt hur barnen identifierar sig i förhållande till den döva och den hörande världen. För att få mer helhet och djup i studien inkluderas även döva barn samt barn som fötts döva och fått cochleaimplantat inopererat. Frågeställningarna omfattar de hörselskadade barnens mentala hälsa/välbefinnande, identitetsutveckling, sociala relationer, samt CI-opererade barns situation. Som en särskild grupp när det gäller hälsa/välbefinnande redovisas även hörselskadade barn med tilläggsfunktionshinder.Studien är gjord som en systematisk kunskapsöversikt där sökningar gjorts i olika databaser för vetenskapliga artiklar och litteratur. När det gäller böcker så har databasen LIBRIS använts och vad gäller artiklar har ELIN, Pubmed, PsychINFO samt ERIC använts.

Most people with pancreatic cancer are diagnosed in a late stage of the disease.

Syfte och frågeställningarSyftet i studien var tvådelat, dels avsågs att analysera vad orienteringslitteraturen skriver om träning, dels att jämföra hur svenska elitorienterare tränade på 1980-talet och år 2010.Frågeställningar till källanalysen: Vad skriver orienteringslitteraturen om träningsupplägg, mental träning och mentala faktorer som påverkar prestationen samt tränarrollen?Frågeställningar kring hur elitorienterare tränade på 1980-talet jämfört med år 2010: Vilka skillnader och likheter i träningsupplägg bland kvinnor och män finns det mellan 1980-talet och år 2010? Har tränarrollen förändrats? Varifrån får elitorienterare sin kunskap om hur de ska lägga upp sin träning?MetodDe metoder som användes i studien var källanalys och enkätundersökning. De källor som analyserats är fem böcker som handlar om orienteringsträning. Respondenterna till enkäten var de som var landslagsaktiva under 1980-talet samt de som var det år 2010. Antalet respondenter var 13 från 1980-talet och 14 från år 2010.ResultatDe viktigaste resultaten i studien var att det finns både skillnader och likheter i vad som ingår i en elitorienterares träningsupplägg på 1980-talet jämfört med år 2010.

The study examines risk perception and crisis preparedness among personnel at high-schools. The focus is set on teachers and leaders at four high-schools in Örebro municipality, Sweden. The purpose of the study is to examine crisis preparedness and identify factors which influences risk perception and crisis preparedness. The survey consisted of a questionnaire which was completed by 95 respondents. The results show that better information about the crisis preparedness in the schools is needed.

På Svenska Gymnastikförbundets begäran har detta projekt gjorts som ett koncept för dem att ha som utgångspunkt i diskussioner med såväl föreningar som politiker i frågan om gymnastikens behov av anpassade idrottsanläggningar.En användarstudie av gymnastiken, samt flera discipliner, har gjorts och stått som utgångspunkt för anläggningens utformning. Därtill har även en utvärdering av flertalet befintliga hallar som används för gymnastik gjorts för att motivera beslut gällande anpassningar som lyfter anläggningens utförande i jämförelse.Arbetet kommer ge en skriftlig rapport och en digital modell av anläggningen. Detta examensarbete grundar sig på en undersökning gjord med elever i en 4- 6:a med 18 elever i Luleå kommun under vårterminen 2003. Syftet med arbetet var att undersöka om eleverna efter min undervisning använde sig av huvudräkningsmetoden tiotalsövergång, då de löste de centrala uppgifterna i undersökningen. Under mina litteraturstudier har jag funnit att arbetet går att förankra till såväl styrdokument som tidigare forskning. Metoden jag har använt är ett inledande test följt av ett skriftligt intervjuunderlag och muntliga intervjuer med fyra elever, på liknande sätt avslutade jag undersökningen. Däremellan fick undersökningsgruppen kontinuerlig undervisning i tiotalsövergångsmetoden.

This is a qualitative study based on interviews with professionals who are cooperating at a children advocacy center, in swedish called ?Barnahus?. The center, Barnahus, pulls together law enforcement, criminal justice, child protective service, medical and mental health workers in to one coordinated team. Children suspected to be victims of any kind of violence or sexual abuse shall, at Barnahus, be offered coordinated efforts and support all the way from suspicion to possible intervention. The aim of the study is to examine how the participants involved relate to collaboration in Barnahus. The study will also present the success factors and barriers to collaboration that identifies by the participating actors, who are mentioned above.The study will provide insight and understanding of how collaboration can be represented in multiprofessional activities in practice..

This essay derives from the concern that horses ridden with a bit in their mouth can be subjected to strong pressure from the bit if the horse and rider do not understand each other. The horse's mucosa membrane and the tongue are very sensitive tissues (Cook, 1999; Manfredi, 2005; Oliveira, 2005; Terada, 2006) and the bit can then be a source of pain and discomfort. The training of the horse should therefore always be a step by step process and as the horse develops difficulties are increased. Oliveira (2005) suggested that high demands can be placed on the horse but to be successful in the training it is essential to be content with small progress and reward the slightest desired response from the horse. This corresponds with the principles of operant conditioning with negative reinforcement.

Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) är en internationell standard för utbildning av kärnkraftspersonal och rekommenderad av FN-organet IAEA och branschorganisationen WANO. Flera utredningar inom Vattenfalls kärnkraftsverksamhet har påvisat förbättringsmöjligheter i användningen av SAT vid träning och utbildning. Vattenfall har därför beslutat att se över hur SAT används inom deras kärnkraftsverksamhet. Det här examensarbetets har som syfte att kartlägga attityden och användningen av SAT inom Vattenfalls kärnkraftsverksamhet. Det ges dessutom förslag på frågor som Ringhals, Forsmark, KSU och Vattenfall behöver arbeta med, eller utreda vidare för att genomföra en enhetlig implementering och användning av SAT.I denna rapport ges en översiktlig bild av de berörda bolagen och organisationerna.

The main purpose of this study was to determine the self-estimated levels of knowledge about doping for a group of strength training young adults, and also to get an idea of their attitudes regarding the subject. A part of the purpose was also to investigate the potential associations between knowledge and attitude. Method: To collect information a questionnaire was constructed that was inspired by a similar study and in consultation with the tutor. Questions regarding background, doping and training experiences together with self-esteemed attitudes and knowledge about doping were included. Questionnaires were handed out at gym facilities in central Sweden, and were answered by men and women ages 18 to 35 years.

ABSTRACT Behavioural problems are a compound conception for emotional difficulties at different levels. Individuals with behavioural problems could have difficulties with social relations, low self-esteem, anxiety and worry. The purpose with the examination was to describe how clients apprehend their behavioural problems and what they consider could be the causes of it. The examination was based on the qualitative interviews with 5 clients and a professional helper. We came in contact with our clients through our practice.

Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is a relatively new method for learning a foreign language. CLIL programs are growing in popularity and more and more schools are adopting it all around the world. There is still no special education for the teachers working with CLIL, though research suggests it may be an effective method for achieving good results.To get a realistic view of the work of a CLIL teacher, I have interviewed four different mathematic teachers who work at CLIL international schools in Spain with English as the foreign language. I have compared their methods and experiences with the main ideas of current research in this particular field.The survey shows that the teachers? views about how CLIL is to be used do not completely correspond to that of the research.

The aim of the study is to investigate how teachers in grades 1­­­­­­­­­­­?3 use reading aloud to develop the pupils? reading comprehension and how they reflect on the method. The study is based on interviews with four teachers, all of them working in these grades. The interviews have been interpreted hermeneutically and the statements compiled in accordance with the aim and research questions. The results indicate that all the teachers are aware that reading aloud can be used as a resource to develop pupils? reading comprehension.

How do you see on natural science within preschool? Does education and interest play a role for how the educationalist works with natural science? And is the children?s interest for natural science affected by the educationalist, what does the educationalist think himself? These questions have I under my teachers training and under deputyship in preschool asked myself and these questions lies to behalf for my investigation. I interviewed five educationalists on different preschools for my investigation.My investigation resulted in that I have been able to see a certain conjunction between how you work with natural science in preschool and the educationalist education or interest. What also plays a role is that you often associate natural science with knowledge of nature. The educationalist seems overall positive to natural science, but depending of a lack of knowledge it feels strange and difficult.
