Kommunikation mot bättre motivation : En studie som undersöker hur kommunikation kan påverka motivation på arbetsplatsen

På senare tid har allt större fokus lagts på vikten av motiverade anställda på arbetsplatsen. I denna uppsats undersöks hur kommunikation kan påverka motivationen på arbetsplatsen. Detta sker genom en fallstudie med en kvantitativ undersökningsmetod i form av en enkätundersökning på byggföretaget NCC, där de fyra kommunikationsfaktorernas (feedback, öppenhet, språk och Medium) eventuella påverkan på de fyra motivationsfaktorerna mål, meningsfullhet, utveckling och trivsel, undersöks. Sammanställningen visade att alla motivationsfaktorer samt alla kommunikationsfaktorer förutom feedback ansågs som positivt bland personalen på NCC. Detta gav ett resultat som säger att det främst är kommunikationsfaktorerna öppenhet, språk och valet av Medium mellan ledningen och de anställda som kan påverka motivationen på arbetsplatsen..

Bibliotek, Finkultur och TV-spel : En diskursanalys av debatten kring TV-spel och bibliotek

This bachelor´s thesis analyzes the debate in a number of Swedish media regarding the introduction of video games as a new Medium in the public libraries. The theory and method used is discourse analysis. Three questions were asked: how the introduction of video games as a new media in libraries is discussed, how is it motivated and in what way the authors of the articles analyzed are speaking about new media and the mission of the library. The selected articles were divided into four themes and the analysis resulted in the identification of two main discourses, one which is positive to the introduction and integration of new media in the libraries? collections, and one which has a more negative approach and uses quality and culture as an argument. The conclusion is that video games are a Medium so widely used that librarians have to decide whether or not they want to include it in the libraries? collections, and by deciding this they reveal their attitude towards the mission and purpose of the public library..

Today, we live in a consumption society. We buy products to soothe our needs and desires. Thru material things we can express our own personal identity and shopping is seen more as a pleasure than a need to survive. With the background media- and communication studies, the reason of this study was to explore how blogs as a social Medium can influence the consumption ideal in society. With dialogical analysis and semiotic analysis we wanted to see if we could find a specific consumption culture in the content of six blogs we did our studies on. We found that the blogs showed us that there is normal to have everyday luxury and spoil oneself with expensive things.

Genusaspekter på föräldraledighet i svenska små och medelstora företag

The main intention with this study was to explore how parents, employed in three Swedish small- and Medium-sized companies, experienced their combination of work and parental leave. The investigation was carried out by a questionnaire, and the 21 participants estimated the attitude from and the treatment by mainly the management and the colleagues. The answers were analyzed both from a perspective of gender and in the aspect of high- and low utilizers of parental leave. The results showed that although both men and women generally estimated the attitude from the management and the colleagues towards parental leave to be positive, the parental leave was divided traditionally and unequally between the parents..

Design comparison between HiperLAN/2 and IEEE802.11a services

This paper is a study and comparison between the two Wireless LAN (WLAN) standards HiperLAN/2 and IEEE 802.11a. WLANs are used instead or together with ordinary LANs to increase mobility in for example an office. HiperLAN/2 is an European standard developed by ETSI and the IEEEs standard is American. A WLAN-card consists roughly of a Medium Access Control (MAC), Physichal layer (PHY) and an antenna. The antenna is the same for the different standards.

Sand pits as habitat for ground beetles (Carabidae) : does the area affect species number and composition?

Sand pits are a valuable habitat which can hold many sand living species including several endangered ones. As many sand habitats with exposed sand are declining, sand pits have a potential as a substitute habitat. This study was conducted to see what effect the area of a sand pit has on species number and composition of ground beetles (Coleoptera: Carabidae). Also, the effects of other environmental variables were tested, for example the proportion open sand, vegetation cover, sun exposure and tree cover. The study was conducted in the county of Uppsala in 2008 and included 13 sand pits with areas between 200 and 180,000 m2.

The use of streaming media such as Spotify has increased rapidly in recent years. Although the consumption side of Spotify is well established with over 10 million users, the Medium might provide new unexploited opportunities as an advertising channel. "TV-spel är inga konstigheter!": En enkätundersökning om tv-spel på folkbiblioteken

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to investigate the lending of video games at the public libraries in Sweden. The thesis focused around a web survey, which was sent out to all public library directors, as its research material. The results were compared with those found in a master thesis by Olle Berg and Thomas Nyström from 2008. This was done to gain a better understanding of why the libraries provided video games. The other results of the survey were analyzed with a quantitative method.The results indicate that half of the responding libraries provide video games for borrowing.
