The use of history is the concept of people using and analyzing history in the society for various purposes. Study in this area has largely emerged because there are many different reasons for people and societies to be interested in history. To investigate the use of history, a historical material needs to be present in some form. With this study, I intend to show how older tourist guidebooks can provide such materials of study and therefore I use travel guidebooks about Tallinn released under the USSR (Estonian SSR) between the years 1960 to 1990. The analysis is based on Klas-Go?ran Karlsson's (Professor of History) typology of seven different uses of history: scientific, existential, moral, ideological, political, educational, non-use of history and a commercial use of history.

Textbooks are a very influential Medium considering the fact that they often introduce students to information they have never read or heard about before, and as such they become very important in forming students? opinions on different matters. In this study I have taken a closer look at five textbooks in history that are currently being used in the Swedish upper secondary school. My aim has been to find out how East Asia is pictured and also how much space East Asian history is given in these textbooks with the postcolonial theory as theoretical basis. My study shows that East Asia is given very little space compared to Europe in these books, with an average of less than a twentieth of the number of pages that deal with European history.

A standard method for single-event methods is part of IEC standard 61000-4-30.This thesis emphasizes the importance of voltage sag indices and different methods for calculating three-phase voltage sag characteristics. Three-phase events measured in a Medium network voltage over period of one month were analyzed, results examined and statistically evaluated. An algorithm for calculating voltage sag characteristics and indices was created in Matlab.

The purpose of this study was to examine how teachers practice Arne Tragetons theory of using computers as the first writing instrument in reading and writing development. We wanted to clarify how the work from using Tragetons theory was applied while investigating if and how other methods of reading and writing instruction were used. Our interest lays in how the teachers accomplished the knowledge of this theory and also how the choice of this approach came about. To investigate this we used interviews with a qualitative nature, where seven active teachers were interviewed. They worked in three different schools in years one to three, they were all women and had various long experiences of work on the computer writing tools.

Genom att titta på tre stycken TV-program; Arga Snickaren, Lyxfällan och Rent hus har jag undersökt hur experterna/coacherna i TV-programmen verkar, vad är det för budskap och moral som de förmedlar samt vilken betydelse det kan få. För att förstå och analysera mitt material har jag använt mig av de teoretiska utgångspunkterna; orent och rent, privat och offentlig sfär, experter och coacher samt moral. Jag har valt att titta på TV-programmen och därefter jämföra materialet för att förstå och utskilja mönster och strukturer, skillnader och likheter. Jag har använt mig av den klassiska dramaturgin som ett slags utgångspunkt för att förstå uppbyggnaden av TV-programmen. Experterna/coacherna verkar på olika sätt i respektive TV-program. Den gemensamma nämnaren är att experterna/coacherna ska bidra med en kunskapsförmedling kring den problematiska situation som deltagarna befinner sig i. Hur detta sker skiljer sig mellan TV-programmen, allt från renodlad kunskapsförmedling till ett slags moralpredikan där experten fostrar deltagaren i att förändra sitt beteende och bli en god samhällsmedborgare, allt enligt normen.

This master thesis is about access to literature translated into Swedish sign language for deaf at the public libraries. It is by now a well-known fact that there is produced very little literature in sign language for deaf. This is so even though the policies for the library nationally and internationally, and the public law for libraries in Sweden says there should be literature available for all groups of disadvantaged people. People who have problem reading ordinary ink books have the right to get the book adapted into a Medium accessible for them. The goal of the Swedish law for disadvantaged says that in 2010 Sweden should be accessible for all irrespective of weather you are deaf or not.

Den här rapporten undersöker om och i så fall hur webbplatser kan användas som ett återkommande inslag i matematikundervisning. Bland annat Skolverkets utvärdering av grundskolan 2003 visade att matematiklektioner av många elever upplevs som långtråkiga och enformiga. This master thesis aims to investigate and quantify the potential associated with increasing the usage of edible by-products as food for human consumption on the Swedish market. The main emphasis is on the Swedish production of offal and the obstacles that currently inhibit greater usage of these products as foods.The results indicate that the Swedish market for offal is limited. Only a small amount of the edible by-products that are produced in Sweden every year are consumed as foods and a considerable amount seem to be downgraded into animal feed or thrown away. The utilization of these products is restricted by economical, technical, legal, and cultural factors that all need to be taken into consideration. On the whole, large-scale slaughter plants seem to be more inclined to utilize these products effectively, as the profit from doing so increases proportionately to the produced volumes.

Background: Currently Sweden has the possibility to like other EU countries raise the limits of statutory audit, but have chosen significantly lower limits. The reform was adopted in 2010 and only applies to smaller companies and there is great pressure for the limits to rise in future. This would enable Swedish companies to compete on equal terms in Europe. Aim: The aim of our study is to investigate the impact of the removal of the statutory audit for smaller companies from audit and accounting bureaus perspective and also the possible impact if the limits were to rise. Furthermore we want to explore how the supplies of other financial services have developed as a result of this.

Uppsatsen analyserar sex japanska språkskolors hemsidor utifrån Björkvalls (2009) teorier om multimodala analyser och har som syfte att klarlägga språkanvändningen inom främst keigo och katakana som skolorna använder sig av. I resultatet framstår det att hemsidorna använder keigo och katakana som motsvarigheter, där keigo tolkas som formellt, seriöst och mindre personligt, medan katakana tolkas som informellt, mindre seriöst samt mer personligt. Katakana används i större mängd vid personliga element, samtidigt som keigo minskas i dessa områden.

The aim of this thesis is to mediate to the reader an image of Chinese classification systems and in what way the methods of classification have progressed during time. The tradition of classification in China is very old and dates back more than two thousand years, but it wasnt until the downfall of the dynastic era in the beginning of the 20th century, that Chinese libraries and methods of classification were modernized. This thesis also identifies the development of Chinese librarianship which is of old age since Chinese literature stretches three thousand years back. The main question is in what way the values of three different philosophies are reflected in five classification systems compiled between 1953-1975. The three philosophies are Daoism, Confucianism and Maoism/Mao Zedong Thought.
