Sammanfattning Projektet, Nytt koncept för linspridning, vilket tillhandahölls av Abu Garcia, bestod i att vidareutveckla multiplikatorrullen, Ambassadeur Classic 5000c. Målet var att konstruera en multiplikatorrulle, med vilken fritt utkast erhålls. På dagens multiplikatorrullar passerar linan genom linspridaren, detta medför att linan följer linförarens rörelse under utkastet. Till följd av linförarens rörelse genereras friktion, vilket i sin tur ger ett kortare kast. För att öka kastlängden, skall linspridaren ej vara i kontakt med linan under utkastet. Det är dock viktigt att linan sprids direkt på spolen vid påbörjad invevning.

Kockums i Karlskrona har givit i uppdrag att ta fram lösningar till öppningsmekanismen för större bordläggningsluckor på marina ytfartyg. De önskar att luckans dimension ska vara max 10 * 3 m. I uppgiften ingår att ta fram en lösning på öppningsmekanism, simulera öppning och stängningsförloppet i Virtual Reality samt utvärdera konstruktionen enligt givna lastfall. Acceleration är ett exempel på laster som luckan kan tänkas utsättas för under öppet läge samt under öppning och stängning. Första delen av rapporten innehåller principkonstruktionen, här har det tagits fram ett antal lösningsförslag som visas med enkla skisser. Dessa utvärderas i olika omgångar mot de krav och önskemål som tagits fram i samarbete med Kockums.

Travelling by train has increased during the last decades in Sweden. This has put pressure on the existing infrastructure and has created problems with delays and cancelled departures. The railway is a complex system with mutual dependencies and high vulnerability for disruptions. The situation for the railway system in the Stockholm region is today strained. The capacity is fully used.

This is a thesis for a Bachelor Degree Project, performed in the subject MechanicalEngineering. The students Roger Malmberg and Simon Hagberg have carried out adesign project on behalf of the recently established company J&D Assisting systems,located in Halmstad.The project consisted in developing J&D's first prototype of a power assisting solutionfor wheelchairs. A power assisted wheelchair combines human power, which is deliveredby the arms through the pushrims, with electrical motors, which are powered by a battery.The power assisted wheelchair is aimed at customers, who have used a regularwheelchair for a long time, but who have become weaker or just need additional powerwhen driving uphill. This kind of wheelchair will provide additional power for users,which will spare their wrists, elbow and shoulders. The product is torque sensor free andinstead it relies on the velocity.

This report describes the construction work of a radar antenna for the radar systemCARABAS. CARABAS is a long wave airborne ground radar that has been developed bySAAB Microwave Systems and will now be mounted on a small helicopter, Schweizer 300.The antenna should be able to fold up and down. When the radar is in use the antenna islowered and under transport, start and landing the antenna is folded up. An emergency dropfunction should also be included in the design of CARABAS III.The extent of this report includes construction of the antenna, frame structure attached to thehelicopter, mechanism for folding the antenna up and down and mechanism for emergencydrop function. The mechanical design of the antenna and frame structure is based on modaland stress analysis, vibration measurement of Schweizer 300 and frequency analysis, andcalculations regarding aerodynamic drag and mechanics.The exciting frequencies of the helicopter and accelerations at those frequencies weredetermined by vibration measurement and frequency analysis.

This report contains a degree project made by the mechanical engineering students Lennart Andersson and Daniel Jansson. The project has performed in assignment by SOMAS Valves AB in Säffle. SOMAS are leading in development on control and on/off valves. To maintain this position they always want to improve their products. One way in this development is valves that are more tightened.The purpose with our project was to investigate another seat design on a HiCo (High Cobalt Alloy) seat to a SKV 150 PN 25 valve and compare this to an original HiCo seat.By modifying the seat on a ball valve we want to achieve a valve that leaks lesser then a valve whit original seat.

Att vårdas i respirator innebär att den verbala kommunikationsförmågan förloras, vilket kan medföra känslor av frustration och maktlöshet hos patienter. För att uppnå en vårdande relation är samtalet av stor betydelse, vilket försvåras om kommunikationsförmågan är nedsatt. Syftet är att beskriva intensivvårdssjuksköterskors upplevelser av kommunikation med lätt sederade, respiratorbehandlade patienter. En kvalitativ ansats har använts. Halvstrukturerade forskningsintervjuer utfördes med åtta intensivvårdssjuksköterskor från två sjukhus.

This study was done regarding whether sealing or ventilation is the best solution to prevent moisture on cold attics. The authors of this report addressed the problem with moisture in attics when they started their cooperation with Peab.The methods included interviews with people, database research, and calculations of a project in Akersberga north of Stockholm. The conclusion is based on interviews and other information as they are analyzed in relation to the house of reference. The focus of this report is on problems with moisture in the attics known as cold attics.The background of the problem with moisture is that today?s slabs are usually insulated to save energy and that the attics nearly gives the climate as the outdoor climate.

Dagens film och spelkoncept inom genrerna science fiction och fantasy börjar likna varandra mer och mer och för oss känns inget längre annorlunda. Genom att basera dem på historiska samhällen och kulturer hoppas vi på att bryta normen. Vi hoppas att med detta som grund kunna skapa realistiska och trovärdiga folkslag som skiljer sig från det som funnits tidigare. Detta examensarbete handlar om konceptutveckling av en fiktiv värld och tre fiktiva folkslag. Konceptet skall kunna appliceras på både film och spel men även litteratur eller andra medietekniska områden.

This thesis examines history of the subject of mechatronics and innovation. The main reason tostudy mechatronics from a historical point of view is that it has never been done to a greater extent before. An overview is justified because various definitions have been used over the decades, but nowadays the subject has become more established. Focus in this thesis is mainly on development of the subject of mechatronics at Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Innovation is the other aspect of this thesis.

The object with this work was to create a simple feeding program for beef cows. Another object was that I could learn more about the properties and functions of Excel and Visual Basic. I used parts of a program I designed a few years ago. This old program was neither user friendly nor had it an appealing layout. Initially I decided how I wanted the new program to appear and on which foundation it should be built. I designed various forms into a spread sheet, such as lists and multiple choice buttons. Using VBA (Visual Basic for Application) I could create macros, which used the information chosen in the lists and with the multiple choices to calculate the feeding requirement or the feeding plan.

Tussilago farfara, coltsfoot, is a troublesome perennial weed with deep lying rhizome, which can vegetatively generate new plants. The mechanical control of coltsfoot that is used today, "starvation", which consists of several cultivations of the soil, which fragmentises the rhizome. This results in production of new shoots, which leads to depletion of nutrient resources; as long the new plant is not allowed to establish. However, very little research has been done to investigate how the starving technique affects the regenerative ability of coltsfoot. The purpose of this experiment with coltsfoot was to investigate how fragmentation and burial depths affect the time of emergence, number of emerged shoots per rhizome fragment, number of shoots per node, and if the germination ability within nodes changes during the experiment.

Inom intensivvården vårdas patienter med sviktande vitala funktioner där respiratorbehandling ofta kan vara en del av behandlingen. Invasiv respiratorbehandling leder till att patientens förmåga till verbal kommunikation upphör. Patienten befinner sig ofta i en utsatt situation där förlust av förmågan till verbal kommunikation kan leda till känslor av rädsla, oro och frustration. Patientens nedsatta kommunikationsförmåga ställer höga krav på vårdpersonalens förmåga att förmedla och tolka information.Syftet med studien är att beskriva vårdpersonalens upplevelser av att kommunicera med den vakna intuberade intensivvårdspatienten. Studien genomfördes som en kvalitativ intervjustudie med induktiv ansats.

Since early civilization, herbal tea has been used as remedies for an abundance of different diseases. Among these herbal remedies, peppermint (Mentha piperita) was used for its effect on bowel related ailments. Even though peppermint was not described until late 17th century, it has been used since 1000 years before Christ by the Egyptians. In present day it is still considered a remedy for stomach pain etcetera, and much of the recent research is concentrated on the positive effects of peppermint on pain and bowel diseases. A large section of the research is also reviewing positive effects of peppermint on cancer, allergy and also on its potential as antibacterial agent.

Ett vanligt problem inom stålbranschen är att avlägsna grader från kapade stålrör ochstänger. En metod för detta är avgradning med hjälp av ett ändlöst slipband. SandvikMaterial Technology (SMT) tillämpar denna metod i Rörverk 50 i Sandviken.Slipmaskinens benämning är fingeravgradare. Vid avgradning roterar röret på ettvarvtalsstyrt roterställ varvid fingeravgradaren slipar bort rörets grader.Rören har en varierande grad av krokighet vilket leder till problem. Hela rörets periferiavgradas inte då det tappar kontakten med slipbandet och slipkrafterna blir ibland så storaatt slipbandet börjar slira på drivhjulet och går av.
