Mamma, pappa, barn och personlig assistent : en undersökning om fyra föräldrars upplevelser av att leva med personlig assistans till sina barn
The purpose with this study was to investigate how parents experience their situation in life, having personal assistance at home to support their small children with disabilities. Different areas were investigated. What made them apply for personal assistance? How does the support affect the family and their parenthood? What would it mean if their children would not have personal assistance? The study was made using a qualitative method and the material was gathered through interviews. A combination of symbolic interactionism and system theory were used as theoretical perspectives.
En givande undervisning i problemlösning för andraspråkselever : En studie i årskurs 3 vid en mångkulturell skola i södra Stockholm
Thanks to I have got to explore different teaching ways around the problem solving in a year 3, in a multicultural school which is located south of Stockholm, I have been able to answer my question at issue in my degree work. My question at issue on this investigation and the purpose with my degree work was to explore different teaching ways that promotes pupils with another mother tongue than Swedish, to develop reading comprehension and to get a better understanding of mathematical concepts in problem solving tasks. On this investigation have I chosen to teach these pupils to explore, reach and gain a deeper understanding of what teaching about problem solving promotes these pupils. I have when it concerns choice of method and material collections assumed from a qualitative investigation and gathered the material with help from participation notices and interviews. I have in my investigation reached the conclusion that those pupils with another mother tongue than Swedish developed reading comprehension and got a better understanding of mathematical concepts in problem solving tasks by being taught in a creative and varied teaching. The purpose of this essay is to study how parents of children with disabilities young people make their choice of support and service LSS. The study takes its lead from questions designed to determine which interventions parents use for their children. What parents think about today's choice and if satisfactory, or if they have other wishes. It is also about how parents experience the freedom of choice and participation in the selection of interventions. Furthermore how the parent discuss the topic of choice from childhood and parental perspective.
Daglig verksamhet enligt LSS : Hur resonerar ett antal deltagare med intellektuella funktionsnedsa?ttningar kring sitt arbete?
This essay aims to examine the meaning work at daily activity centers gives people with intellectual disabilities and the questions these people consider necessary to ask in quality surveys. This has been done by interviews with twelve respondents in various daily activitiy centers within a private care company in the Stockholm area. The theories that has been used to analyze the empirical data is SOC - sence of coherence, stigma and empowerment. The result shows that the meaning of daily activity is to create and maintain social contacts, feeling important and needed by others and an opportunity to feel ?normal? and like everybody else.

The study presented here is about how to make the special needs user who has a profound intellectual disability and additional disabilities more involved in their implementation plan. Based on a life story interview the study aims at analyzing perceptions of procedures to enhance special needs users? influence. The method used in this study was a qualitative research approach as an overall approach in order to use a narrative method where life history is the method. The focus has been to study a part of an individual life history - a specific domain in the life of the interviewee?s working career.

This study examined parenting in relation to ADHD. The key point of the study was to let parents who experience an ADHD diagnosis share their view on parenting. The research required a comprehensive literature search, partly to examine earlier research in the particular field but also to gather information on parenting. One focus group interview and three semi structured interviews were used to gather relevant information. Informants were recruited from a project for individuals with neuropsychiatric disabilities.
Att leva med en diagnos : Utifrån föräldrars berättelser
The purpose of our study was to identify and present experiences encountered by parents with a child with diagnosis. Those narratives are made open for the public. Data has been collected through ten interviews with parents having children with a diagnosis. These interviews have also been complemented by interviews with one child and one youth. The parents and the children who have been interviewed, all have their own stories and experiences of how it is to live with a diagnosis in the family and for all families there are different diagnosis.
"Man måste brinna för det man gör": en studie av arbetsledarnas arbetssituation inom handikapp- och äldreomsorgen i Halmstad kommun.
The focus in this paper was on managers in the middle position in the care of the elderly and people with disabilities. The aim was to develop knowledge about the conditions of work among managers in the middle position and what they characterized as good leadership and which strategies they used in their work. The empirical data consisted of nine qualitative interviews with managers in the middle position in the municipality of Halmstad.The frameworks that mainly limited the middle managers' discretion were laws, political regulations and most of all it was the allocated budget. Their discretion was found closer to the operation such as working methods, recruitment and changes in job schedules. The middle managers spent the majority of their working hours with personnel administrative work and that they often had to prioritise among their tasks.
Betydelsen av fysisk aktivitet för barns koncentration i förskolan : En studie om betydelsen av fysisk aktivitet för barns koncentrationsförmåga vid samlingar i förskolan
The purpose of this investigation was to investigate how being outdoors and participating in physical activities affect the concentration in a collection situation among children.The methods I chose were observation of two groups of children two times each and interviews with four educators.The results showed that the concentration in the collected situation depends on past activity, where it has taken place and that the environment has an impact. If the previous activity been more active and physical the subsequent collected situation is calmer and the children more concentrate. The facts that the children have been outside in an inspiring environment that encourage playing and movement also have a position impact on the child´s ability to concentrate. The collected situation is an important moment in the preschool day when the kids need to congregate and get a chance for social interaction and a sense of togetherness with all the children and teachers. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between movement, physical activity and an increased concentration.
Inkludering, funktionsnedsättning och idrott : En studie om hur lärare i idrott och hälsa arbetar med elever i behov av särskilt stöd
I vårt examensarbete har vi valt att undersöka hur lärare i idrott och hälsa arbetar för att inkludera elever med funktionsnedsättning. Teoretiska studier och kvalitativa intervjuer av lärare i idrott och hälsa, är det vi använt oss av för att undersöka hur lärare arbetar med elever i behov av särskilt stöd. Vi har lyft begreppen inkludering och funktionsnedsättning för att lyfta fram en definition, som arbetet sedan har utgått ifrån. Vi har valt att belysa specialpedagogik, idrottslärarens kompetens, bemötande, skolans anda, organisation, miljön och materialets inverkan på lärarens möjligheter att inkludera elever med funktionsnedsättning. Vi redovisar resultatet av intervjuerna och gör sen en analys utifrån resultatet och ställer detta mot litteraturen.
Psykisk ohälsa i primärvården : en litteraturstudie om patienters upplevelser av mötet
Background: Mental illness is a growing public health problem which can cause significant disabilities and lead to poor quality of life. As primary care nurses often are the first to encounter these patients they need knowledge to be able to respond appropriately to this group.Aim: The aim was to describe how the sufferer of mental illness experiences the introduction to primary care. Method: The literature review was based on the results of 11 scientific articles which were analyzed with the inspiration of a metasynthesis method.Results: Four categories emerged: the experience of being treated like a human being, the importance of a therapeutic space, the experience of time and availability as well as the importance of competent personnel and the importance of continuity. Patients described different aspects deemed important when encountering nursing staff. Conclusion: Patients experienced that they received good care when they felt listened to and seen as individuals with their own thoughts and feelings.

Syftet med följande arbete var att studera hur specialpedagoger i praktiken kartlägger elever på tidig utvecklingsnivå med flera funktionsnedsättningar
samt vad som kartläggs och hur pedagogerna använder och utvärderar informationen.
Arbetet innehåller en översikt av kartläggningsmaterial som är speciellt anpassade
till elever på tidig utvecklingsnivå med flera funktionsnedsättningar.
Med hjälp av intervjuer undersöks vilka kartläggningsmaterial som används i verksamheterna.
Huvudresultatet visar att pedagogerna använder nulägesbeskrivningen i den individuella utvecklingsplanen som kartläggning och inte de anpassade kartläggningsmaterialen.

"Säg aldrig till ditt barn att matematik är svårt" : Sex pedagogers tankar och resonemang kring sitt arbetssätt i matematikundervisning för elever i år F-6
There has been a lot of debate in media about mathematics teaching in grade school in Sweden. Many students experience that mathematics in grade school is abstract, which leads to decreased interest of mathematics in early years. An international study indicates that Swedish students in class 4 do not fulfill the mean for mathematics according to EU/OECD countries. The study also shows that Sweden practice a textbook driven education, compared to other countries. The aim for this study was to find out how a few pedagogues for class F-6 teach mathematics, and why they have chosen to educate the way they do.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur ungdomarna med neuropsykiatriskt funktionshinder upplevt sin skolsituation på A-skolan samt vilka specialpedagogiska metoder som tillämpas som stöd/hjälp till elever inom A-skolan. Min studie är en intervjustudie där två olika grupper, en grupp som själva upplevt studiesituationen på A-skolan, sju tidigare elever, och en grupp professionella yrkesutövare, fyra pedagoger intervjuas.

The title of this thesis is ?Accessible Landscape - boardwalks in nature areas?.
The main purpose of this thesis is to show how you can increase the accessibility for disabled people by constructing boardwalks in nature areas.
The platform for the thesis is a study of litterature on boardwalks, accessibility and disabilities. After defining these terms I made three excursions to three different locations in the south of Sweden. During the excursions I evaluated the boardwalks situated in each of the areas through preferences such as the construction of the boardwalk, its design and the accessibility.
After the excursions I interviewed managers of the areas I visited, and people working with disability questions in the municipalities where the excursions took place.
To know how to make a boardwalk accessible you need to have knowledge about certain concepts, rules and recommendations.
My thesis deals with aspects such as:
*Accessibility
*Disability
*Rules and recommendations when building boardwalks
*Real life - evaluation from the excursions and interviews with the
managers
The result shows that accessibility is a hot topic in Sweden and a lot
of improvement is being done with fi nancial support from the European
Union.
