In July 2011, new regulations regarding school libraries came into effect through a new education act for Swedish schools. The wording of the Act has been the basis of much discussion in which the concepts of "school library" and "access" makes it difficult to build consensus among different parties, why this can cause difficulties in ultimately construct equal access to school library. The purpose of this survey is to examine the interpretations and practices that exist around the school library and its functions among primary school principals. The principals have been selected on the basis that they themselves (the schools) already indicated that they do not have access to their own school library within the school premises. As a theoretical starting point, I used the school library researcher David Loertscher?s taxonomy for school leaders.

This is a thesis about an upper secondary  school library and its role as a pedagogkal resour­ce. My purpose has been to find out about the views and experiences of the staff at the school library and twelve teachers at the upper secondary school  conceming the school library as a pedagogical resource. Fourteen  qualitative interviews have been accomplished, twelve  with teachers and the rest with the staff of the school library. All the interviewees seem to think that their school library has an important function as a pedagogical resource and both the librarian and the teachers have given me some examples of occasions when the library has been used as a pedagogkal resource. This school library is mostly used as a complement to other pedagogical resources but for some longer projects with an investigative character it could sometimes be used as the main source according to the answers in these fourteen  interviews..

Komplementära smärtlindringsmetoder vid postoperativ smärta

Otillräcklig smärtlindring och läkemedelsbiverkningar är ett stort problem i den postoperativa vården. Smärtan i sig kan också leda till olika postoperativa komplikationer. Komplementära metoder är idag efterfrågade och börjar också integreras i vården. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att undersöka om sjuksköterskan kan använda sig utav akupunktur, aromaterapi, massage, musik och TENS vid postoperativ smärta. Frågeställningarna som sedan ställdes var då, kan komplementära metoder minska smärta postoperativt, minska opioidanvändningen samt påverka andra smärtrelaterade symtom i kroppen, såsom andningsfrekvens, blodtryck, puls och hormoner i kroppen? Arbetet gjordes som en litteraturstudie där 22 kvantitativa artiklar granskades.

högstadieelevers tankar och upplevelser av kompismassage

Som blivande lärare har vi upplevt att elever känner stress och otrygghet i skolan. Vi vill öka elevernas välbefinnande och fastnade för kompismassage som blivit lovordat i de lägre stadierna i grundskolan, vi ville se om det skulle fungera även i högstadiet. Syftet med vårt examensarbete var att ta reda på högstadieelevers tankar och upplevelser av kompismassage. Vi valde att ha kompismassage i 5-10 minuter, två gånger i veckan i början av lektionen i en åttondeklass. Vi genomförde undersökningen under vår slutpraktik, från vecka 5-11.

Upplevelse av terapeutisk beröring/massage i omvårdnad

Beröring är en grundläggande del i mänskligt beteende och därför behöver människor såväl ta emot som ge beröring till andra. I dagens teknologiska och opersonliga kultur behöver vi närhet och fysisk intimitet mer än någonsin. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva upplevelsen av terapeutisk beröring/massage i omvårdnad. Sexton vetenskapliga artiklar analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys med manifest ansats. Analysen resulterade i fyra kategorier: att känna hur energin ökar i kroppen och smärtan lindras, att känna sig avslappnad och lugn för att kunna sova, att känna sig uppskattad och värdefull när någon ägnar tid åt en, att acceptera sin förändrade kropp och få känna säkerhet, närhet och delaktighet.

Sjukgymnastiska behandlingsmetoder vid spänningshuvudvärk: en litteraturstudie

Spänningshuvudvärk är den vanligaste formen av huvudvärk och kostar samhället mycket pengar i form av utebliven arbetskraft och sjukvårdskostnader. Den traditionella behandlingen med analgetika har vista sig ha motsägande resultat vid behandling av spänningshuvudvärk och kan leda till läkemedelsberoende samt ge biverkningar. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att kartlägga de sjukgymnastiska behandlingsmetoder som finns att tillgå vid spänningshuvudvärk samt värdera deras effekt. Litteratursökningen resulterade i tretton artiklar som behandlade sjukgymnastiska behandlingsmetoder vid spänningshuvudvärk. Behandlingsmetoderna var akupunktur, avslappning, el-akupunktur, kombinerad sjukgymnastik, manipulation samt massage.

Preschool belongs to Lpo-94. School readiness can interprets in different kind of aspects, then you can not found any goals to reach in Lpo- 94 for the pre-school, which preschool teachers can relay to. There are comprehensive goals for the nine-year school in Lpo- 94, about which knowledge the student should have for the fifth grade. Purpose of the studie is to examine preschool teachers understanding of the phenomenon school readiness. Qualitative interviews by preschool teachers in south and middle of Sweden has been carried out and a hermeneutic analyse has been used for a deeper understanding of pre-school teachers interprets of school readiness.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to investigate the importance of a school library for youths, age 14-16, from their perspective. We intend to study how they use and experience the school library both for educational- and leisure related purposes. We also intend to inquire their possibility to influence their school library. The literature that has been used consists of material from research concerning youth culture and school library.

Ett extra år i grundskolan

The basic idea behind an extra year in school was to offer students who have not read nine years in Swedish primary school an opportunity to prepare themselves to pass a high school. This first group that went an extra year in school consisted of eleven students who completed their studies and went on to high school. During the time the group expanded, the school received students from various schools in the same municipality. During the follow-up of these groups could be noted that there were many students who registered, but only few students completed their studies and went on to high school. The purpose of this study was to explore why leadership in the classroom is important for students.

Avstånd och användning : en jämförande studie av lärares använding av skolbibliotek i undervisningen

The purpose of this Master thesis is to examine whether there is a connection between distance to the schoollibrary and the extent to which teachers are using it as an integral part of their teaching. The study aims to answerif the physical distance to the school library is affecting teachers' ways of working with the library, if it affects thecollaboration between teachers and librarians and finally if teachers that are using a school library outside theschool premises are doing so less as an integral part of their teaching compared to teachers that have access to aschool library within the schools premises.The study is based on qualitative interviews with six teachers in the intermediate stage of the nine-yearcompulsory school, of which three have access to a school library within the school premises and three haveaccess to a school library outside the school premises. The two groups of teachers are compared in order to findout if there is a connection between distance to the school library and the usage of it. Loertscher's school librarymedia program and teacher taxonomy have been used as a theoretical framework.The study shows that the teachers who use a school library within the school premises have a bettercollaboration with the librarians than the ones who use a school library outside the school premises. The studyalso show that theese libraries are an integral part of the teaching to a higher degree.

Projects to equip every student and teacher with a laptop, with the intention to improve academic results, have rapidly spread through the country. New technology, new contents and new ways of learning have changed the learning envi-ronment. The school library, being a part of this environ-ment, faces the same changes and challenges.The purpose of this thesis is to study how the school library is being affected when a One-to-One project is carried out in a learning environment. The research questions concern how the school library is viewed within the organization and also how the change affects both the school library and the school librarian.The empirical material of the thesis includes five qualitative interviews carried out on location, at a single selected school. The interviews are followed by a study of relevant documents, all produced within the organization.To understand the organization in which the school library operates, as well as the school library itself, I chose to divide the theoretical approach in two: Christensen?s et al.

Pedagogernas arbetssätt i en mångkulturell kommunal skola och en friskola : Ett interkulturellt perspektiv på undervisning

The purpose of this study is to search for and compare how teachers in a multicultural municipal school and in a multicultural independent school design their teaching to benefit all the students in the classroom, regardless of background.I wanted to get information about how teachers work from an intercultural perspective. To get information I used qualitative methods, which includes interviews and observations. I interviewed four teachers working in a primary school. Two from a independent school and two from a municipal school.The result revealed that both the independent school and municipal school are working from an intercultural perspective where they try to find different methods to reach every student in the class. Their biggest similarity is that the teachers put a lot of effort on language development since the Swedish language is key to the Swedish society.

Elever i särskola : Från segregering till inkludering

AbstractThe purpose of my study is to find out how students who are going to special school feel about going to that type of school compared to going to the regular school. I also want to know what they know about integration and a school for all, if they even know about the research that has been done and still is being done. I chose to interview two students to find out what they think about the subject. The two students go to different programs of special school in high school. I chose the method of interviewing because I wanted to get a vivid conversation and to be able to do follow-up questions.

Barns kunskaper om rymden : Hur iutvecklas elevers kunskaper om solsystemet från förskoleklassen till årskurs 5?

AbstractWhat do the pupils really learn in school? What do the pupils know before they begin schooland what knowledge do they have when they graduate form 5 and should have achieved thegoals? I chose to interview some pupils in the end of nursery school and some pupils in theend of form 5. To limit myself I chose the subject space, because I think most pupils thinkthat space is an interesting subject. The result of my examination was that pupils in nurseryschool have many different thoughts and previous knowledge about space, often on the basisof what they have seen themselves, and that some of the pupils in form 5 have some moredeveloped knowledge while some pupils still got the skill as a nursery school pupil. Myexamination shows that some pupils have learned surprisingly little, bearing in mind that theyhave been in school for five years..
