As a small and land scarce country, effective waste management is ofoutmost importance in Singapore. In this study the production of biogasthrough anaerobic digestion from the organic fraction of municipal solidwaste (OFMSW) was compared to incineration of the waste. At the momentalmost all of the OFMSW in Singapore is incinerated. Three differentscenarios were compared to the reference scenario (incineration): one with alarge scale biogas plant that can treat half of all OFMSW in Singapore, onewith a medium scale biogas plant about 15 times smaller than the large oneand one with a small scale biogas plant that can treat waste from e.g. ashopping center or a food center.By using life cycle assessment (LCA) the different scenarios were comparedin terms of global warming potential (GWP), acidification, eutrophication,energy use and land use.

Konceptet Lean har sitt ursprung från industrin men används idag även inom andra sektorer, exempelvis inom vård- och omsorgsarbete. Denna studie behandlar en socialförvaltnings implementering av konceptet som de kallar Ständiga förbättringar. Syftet med studien är att ur ett chefsperspektiv få kunskaper om specifika framgångsfaktorer för implementering och fortsatt arbete med Ständiga förbättringar i enheterna. Studien genomfördes genom intervjuer av enhetschefer som har, eller påbörjat implementeringen av konceptet i sina enheter. Resultatet visar på betydelsen av enhetschefens roll som drivande, förmåga att anpassa arbetssättet till den egna enheten samt synen på Ständiga förbättringar som en ständigt pågående process.

Detta examensarbete undersöker, genom en fallstudie av ett husbyggnadsprojekt i norra Sverige, planeringsmetoden Lägesbaserad planering och produktionsberdningsmetoden Last Planner system of production control, LPS. Syftet har varit att undersöka om dessa två metoder, som var för sig forskats om inom forskningsområdet Lean construction, har möjligheter till att kunna kombineras. För att inhämta information om det studerade byggprojektets nuvarande gällande planerings- och produktionsledningsmodell har författarna genomfört intervjuer med platschefen för det studerade byggprojektet samt representanter för projektets underentreprenörer. Författarna har även medverkat under några av de samordningsmöten som har hållits för byggprojektet. Examensarbetet innefattar även två olika försöksuppställningar, där i det ena försöket, PPS-mätningar från fyra samordningsmöten har genomförts, sammanställts och analyserats.

The aim of this study is to review the commercial quail production for eggs and meat in the world. Another aim is to review the potential for increased production. Globally the quail production is very small, except in China where it is the second largest poultry industry. The production globally is small despite the quail's rapid growth, early sexual maturity and its high feed efficiency. The quail is also used as a laboratory animal and can be reared to be released in hunting areas.

Syftet med studien är att undersöka samband som visas tydligt hos elever i både matematiksvårigheter samt fonologiska svårigheter. Studien har genomförts på elever i årskurs 7 som uppvisat matematiska såväl som fonologiska svårigheter. Resultatet baseras på en filmad observation där eleverna fått lösa ett urval uppgifter konstruerade utifrån svårigheter gällande grundläggande taluppfattning och aritmetik. Elever med fonologiska svårigheter såväl som bristande arbetsminne visar sig ha svårigheter när det gäller att automatisera tabellkunskap såväl som utföra beräkningar gällande de fyra räknesätten..

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the different substrates that enter the digestion on Sundet wastewater treatment plant for production of biogas.This work have done an analysis of data about the biogasproduction from January 2012 to feburari 2013, this showed that the food substrates has a greater gas production than internal sludge.Through laboratory test the VS, TS and COD values for all the substrates used in the biogas production could be determinded. But the COD-method was less optimal for analysis of fat and food, therefore it optimized the method for fat but due to time constraints, this could not be done on the food substrates..

The City of Stockholm has decided to invest in renewable energy and especially in photovoltaics. The objective of this thesis is to investigate the photovoltaic potential on roof areas that the city possesses and to further investigate some buildings of the Property Management Department. The thesis also compares some existing photovoltaic plants with the solar irradiance map which shows available roof area on each building in Stockholm. The report ends with a literature study about the climate impact and greenhouse gas emissions of photovoltaic.The total available roof area suitable for photovoltaic plants is estimated to 700 000 m2, with a potential electricity production of 110 GWh per year. This corresponds to 17 % of the City of Stockholm?s yearly electricity consumption.

The report is about efficiency of a current production group where there is no clear production flow and there are some buffers between the operations. The efficiency is done with the help of a tool that is calledWork process of flow production which is used by Atlas Copco CTO. The most obviously results are that the lead time drops from 25 hours to 425 minutes and that the balancing loss decreases from 85 % to 8 %. Large amounts of birch-timber are imported to Sweden, from particularly the Baltic States, since the domestic production can?t support the pulp industry. The goal of this study was to show the potential of birch and the area?s most suitable for birch production. The study was limited to Gävleborg County. Using site characteristics, site index (SI) for birch was estimated on all National Forest Inventory plots in Gävleborg County.
