Att anpassa en tidskrifts utformning till surfplattor

I och med lanseringen av Apples iPad har nya möjligheter skapats för publicering av tidskrifter. Eftersom det Àr en sÄ pass ny marknad Àr mÄnga av detidskrifter som finns till surfplattor idag inte speciellt anpassade. Det finns heller inte speciellt mycket forskning kring digitala tidskrifter pÄ surfplattor.Det hÀr examensarbetet har som fokus att undersöka de olika aspekter som bör tas i beaktning vid anpassning av en tidskrift för surfplatta. För attbegrÀnsa arbetet undersöks endast aspekter gÀllande layout, typografi och innehÄllsöversikt och hur dessa kan pÄverka lÀsupplevelsen. Genom att sammanstÀllaredan befintlig teori inom omrÄden som Àr relevanta för undersökningenskapas hypoteser för hur en tidskrift pÄ en surfplatta bör se ut.

FrÄn traditionell till metrosexuell: mansbildens förÀndring i reklamen

Syftet med uppsatsen Àr att undersöka mansbildens förÀndring i reklamen under 1990-talet och början av 2000-talet. DÀrför vill vi undersöka om mÀn exponeras pÄ olika sÀtt i herrtidningen Magazine Café under perioden. Vi vill ocksÄ se om vi kunde finna nÄgra tendenser i samhÀllsutvecklingen, som har pÄverkat mansbilden och om samhÀllsutvecklingen syns i reklamens framstÀllning av mÀnnen. Vi kommer ocksÄ att undersöka det senaste mansidealet, som kallas metrosexualitet och se om det avspeglas i det material vi valt att analysera. NÄgra av de frÄgor som vi besvarar lyder:* Hur influerar medierna trender och livsstilar?* Hur exponeras mÀn i bildreklam?* Finns det nÄgra samhÀllstendenser som man kan knyta till en eventuell förÀndring av exponeringen av mÀn?Analysen har utförts genom en kvalitativ bildanalys.

Borgarklassens diskreta stil : Smak och samhÀllsklass i heminredningstidskriften "Sköna Hem"

Within media and communications studies, questions of taste have often been associated with the dichotomy of high versus popular culture. The French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu has also used mass media products in his studies of class determined tastes and dispositions. In this paper the author uses the theoretical framwork of Bourdieu to examine aspects of social class and legitimate taste in the interior design magazine "Sköna Hem", a market leading magazine within it's genre of lifestyle magazines in Sweden. A specific type of feature article, where a real-life home is portrayed, is studied using the critical discourse analysis of Norman Fairclough. The homes portrayed are predominantly affluent and display elements of conspicuous consumtion as mediated through legitimate taste and cultural capital.

Every day readers of magazines receive advice on how their life is expected to be. Magazines write about what to wear, who you should be dating and where you should work. People are social beings and are affected on what they read, hear and see. In that way media is one of the main channels which defines people and draws examples on for example how a "normal" woman should be.This essay dealt with several questions: how women are described in Swedish women magazine Cosmopolitan and men ?s magazine Slitz and how they are differ from each other.

Den informella organisationen : JÀmstÀlldhetsutredning inom bank-och finansbranschen

During the autumn of 2007 I carried out an investigation within the bank and finance Sector. The aim of the investigation was to see how informal aspects could be understood in relation to equality within Bank AB? The main question was: Which are the obstacles and opportunities for equality within Bank AB? To answer the main question I asked the following questions to the material: Are there any gender related different within the organization? How are men and women represented within the internal magazine? Which are the conceptions related to sex/gender within the organization? The investigation is based on a survey, the internal magazine was investigated and finally interviews took place. Throughout the investigation I used organization theory in a gender perspective. With the gender organization theory I examined concepts as structures, leadership, symbolism and changes associated with equality.

Mannen, myten... Stereotypen? : En kvalitativ innehÄllsanalys av hur manliga stereotyper konstrueras i tidningen Cafés reklamannonser

The discussion about gender and ideals shown in mass media is a subject of great importance for the society in general. Media is playing an essential part when it comes to establish standards and values and we are constantly exposed to all types of impressions, whether we are aware or not. It is therefore of great importance that we understand how stereotypes are built and to gain a deep knowledge that would enrich the area of Media and Communication Studies.The aim and focus of this study was to analyze how male stereotypes is communicated in print advertising and how visual means of expressions helps to construct the masculinities shown. From a semiotic analysis of seven print adverts appearing in the Swedish lifestyle Magazine Café were we able to gain a thorough understanding about how male stereotypes are communicated and built.The result showed that different kinds of stereotypes are in fact used but it is still a hegemonic masculinity that is predominating. Traditional male characteristics are still in use but we were able to see strong indications of effemination, sexualizing and objectifying.

Riktiga mÀn Àter kött och kvinnor Àter inte alls : En kvalitativ bildanalys av omslagen pÄ sex olika livsstilsmagasin för mÀn respektive kvinnor.

This study was a qualitative analysis of the covers of six lifestyle magazines, three addressed to women and three addressed to men. We have studied the cover photographs, the teasers and their relations. The purpose of this study was to answer the questions: According to the magazines, what are male interests and what are typical female interests? Who is the ideal man and who is the ideal woman? Is there a certain way you need to look to be able to be on a magazine cover? And how often do the magazines encourage you to consume? The study was based on thirty covers, five from each magazine. The Swedish magazines are VeckoRevyn, Amelia, Damernas VÀrld, King of Sweden, Café and the American version of GQ. We?ve used semiotics and rhetorical methods to analyze the material.

Kvinnor, giv akt! En studie av uttryck f?r genusstrukturer och sk?tsamhetsideal i tidskriften Morgonbris under f?rsta v?rldskriget.

This thesis explores how the Swedish magazine Morgonbris depicted women's new roles in the workforce during World War I and whether these depictions challenged or upheld contemporary gender structures. The study addresses two main questions, how Morgonbris portrayed women's new roles in the workforce and how this portrayal challenged or upheld contemporary gender structures. And also how the magazine integrated the ideal of respectability to engage and mobilize female workers, analyzed through Ronny Ambj?rnsson's descriptions of respectability ideals. Using Hirdman's gender system theory, which examines the maintenance of gender power structures through separation and hierarchy, and Ambj?rnsson's work on respectability ideals, the study employs a qualitative content analysis of articles from Morgonbris during the war years. By identifying and analyzing expressions of class and respectability ideals, the research uncovers strategies used to engage and mobilize female workers. The results show that Morgonbris portrayed women's entry into traditionally male-dominated labor sectors as a significant shift that challenged established gender roles.

Mitt i medievÀrlden 2010 : En fallstudie av tvÄ amerikanska tidskrifters uppfattningar om flerkanalspublicering

Denna uppsats syfte har varit att undersöka hur tvÄ utvalda amerikanska tidskriftsredaktionerser pÄ och jobbar med flerkanalspublicering. Detta sÄvÀl med papperspublicering som medwebb och de externa publiceringskanaler som internet möjliggör. Dessutom har min avsiktvarit att ta reda pÄ hur en redaktion ser pÄ framtiden och hur den stÀller sig till den av Applenyligen lanserade iPad som Àr ett tydligt exempel pÄ en helt ny produkt att ta till sig ochanpassa sin tidskrift efter. Under april och maj mÄnad 2010 tjÀnstgjorde jag som praktikant pÄNylon magazine och Allure magazine i New York, USA, för att försöka skaffa en förstÄelsekring det valda forskningsÀmnet inifrÄn en amerikansk redaktion. I form av en fallstudieanvÀnde jag den av Lave och Wenger framtagna forskningsmetoden ?legitim periferdeltagande? som kÀnnetecknas av ett situationsbaserat lÀrande.

Media has a big impact on our lives and is one of the main channels for people to recieve information. When recieved, the messages creates a meaning for the people that read, hear or see them. In other words, media could be seen as a source for people on how to perceive the world and it gives a certain picture of what is ?normal?. We chose to do this study to get a deeper knowledge of how men and women are being portrayed in a Swedish lifestyle magazine and what messagest that sends out to the readers.In this study we have examined how men and women are being portrayed in the Swedish magazine Café, both in photographs and in text.

IOGT-NTO möter EU : En analys av IOGT-NTO:s debatt kring förhandlingarna och intrÀdet i EU i tidningen Accent

The purpose of this study is to find out how IOGT-NTO conducted the debate about the Swedish negotiations with EU concerning the accession. The essay investigates how the debate was conducted between the years 1993, 1994 and 1995. A further distinction lies in five requirements IOGT-NTO delivered before the negotiations.The material for this study lies primarily in the editorial pages of IOGT-NTO's magazine Accent. The background content comes primarily from secondary sources and deals with the temperance movement and IOGT-NTO, and dealing with the EU and the Swedish alcohol policy.In July 1991, Sweden submitted its membership application to EU and subsequently in the 1993 the negotiations began. During the same time IOGT-NTO began its debate on a possible EU membership in the Accent magazine.

Hur olika skogsÀgarkategorier har försett sig med underlag för beslut och ÄtgÀrder efter stormen Gudrun : en jÀmförelse av medlemmar och icke-medlemmar, Äbor och utbor samt kvinnor och mÀn

During the 8th and 9th of January 2005 a devastating storm named Gudrun entered the south of Sweden and a big part of the forest owners got their forests damaged. The study objective was to investigate on which basis and how the affected forest owners made their managment decisions immediately after the storm and if there are any differences between different categories of forest owners. - Members ? non members in a forest owner association (FOA) - Resident owners ? non resident owners - Female and male forest owner The study is based on a questionnaire survey with the purpose to examine the most important counsellor and information channels of the forest owners. A total of 450 forest owners participated in the survey. Results show that all categories of forest owners prefer professional counselling rather than personal counselling.

Detta examensarbete behandlar frÄgestÀllningen om det Àr möjligt att göra nÄgonting som vanligtvis distribueras i bokform i magasinform. Att göra informativ lÀsning lÀttillgÀngligt genom att placera det i ett annat medie dÄ en tidning oftare plockas upp och lÀses lite granna i till skillnad frÄn en bok som lÀses frÄn pÀrm till pÀrm. Arbetet resulterade i ett stilmagasin, ett modemagasin som enbart berör och tar upp Àmnen direkt kopplade till tidlöshet och Äterkommande stilar..

The purpose of this thesis is to identify the most important establishment criteria for companies whointend to do a new establishment. There are differences between regions regarding attraction on startup.Some regions have few new businesses while others continuously expanded its activities in variousfields. The biggest focus on the thesis is the GÀvle- BorlÀnge region where MellansvenskaHandelskammaren is active.Mellansvenska Handelskammaren saw a need for the assignment after the magazine ?IntelligentLogistik? ranked the GÀvle region at 15:th place and Falun/BorlÀnge at 20:th place in the list over thetop 25 best logistics locations in Sweden. This made them wonder what could be made to develop intoa better area with more amenities and a better place in the ranking of the magazine.
