It is in society's interest that news is conveyed in a correct and memorable manner. News contributes to general knowledge and increases awareness of other people's life situations. Because of news the population is able to follow and be a part of the political debate. Therefore, it is important that one remembers what one has seen, both in long and in short term, i.e. memorability is a critical aspect when it comes to news.The aim of this work was to study the news form a memorability perspective, that is, how long one remembers the news after watching them.

The most predominant method for forest harvesting in Sweden is the cut-to-length method based on two-machines, a harvester that fells trees and cut them in a predefined length, and a forwarder which transports logs to a landing area for further transport to a processing facility. New machine solutions have to be much gentler to the ground than today?s machines. To be able to develop a forestry machine that preserves the terrain requires a proper understanding of the interaction between tire and soil.The goal of the project is to contribute to the existing knowledge of forest machine tire-soil interaction and to develop a tire-soil model that enables dynamic simulations of forest machines operating in rough terrain. The modeling has especially been focused on the interaction between tires and soft ground.A comparison of theoretical data of different WES-based terrain interaction models and a comparison test data from a full scale field test is presented.

Rapporten behandlar konstruktion av vinge till en radiostyrd modell av Boeing C-17 Globemaster III. Modellen kommer att tillverkas för försäljning av företaget Mil tech. Spännvidden på vingen är omkring sju meter och med den storleken kommer den troligtvis bli det nuvarande största radiostyrda flygplan som konstrueras för försäljning. Rapporten beskriver konstruktionsförslag för delning av vinge, bak- och framkantsklaff, skevroder, luftbroms, motorpyloner och de valda lösningarna samt vilken vingprofil som modellerandet utgått från. The project was initiated by Medipharm which produce microbial inoculants which used as additives to preserve forage. The main goal was to test three inoculants to produce maize silege. The following Medipharm produced inoculants were tested, Milab 393, Lactisil Wolecrop II, Lactisil 300 2. An untreated control was included in the study. The trial was done at Swedish university of Agriculture and Science in Alnarp, Sweden. Eurostar was the cultivar of the maize and was grown on 20, 5 hectares.

Smurfit Kappa Kraftliner Piteå tillverkar kraftliner som används vid tillverkning av wellpapp. Pappret kommer från pappersmaskinen på en tambour (40 ton och 6,5 meter bred), som sedan rullas om och skärs till kundanpassade rullar (ca 3 ton och 2,4 meter breda) i en så kallad rullmaskinen. Examensarbete har bestått i att föreslå optimeringar, förbättringar och serviceintervall i avsikt att förbättra körbarhet och kvalitet på rullmaskin 1. Inledningsvis gjordes ett studiebesök hos SCA Packaging Obbola för att få lite information inför det kommande konditionstest som MetsoPaper skulle utföra även hos Smurfit Kappa. För att få ytterligare lite bättre uppfattning om möjliga åtgärder på rullmaskinen deltog författaren i en kurs för rullmaskinoperatörer.

Arbetsmiljöverkets kungörelse om medicinska kontroller i arbetslivet har medfört ett behov hos företagshälsovården att kunna genomföra sådana kontroller t ex bland personer som utsätts för lokala vibrationer från vibrerande handverktyg. För att pröva värdet av vibrametri (bestämning av vibrationströsklar) med en ny typ av utrustning ? en VibroSense Meter® - vid bedömningen av eventuella nervskador hos arbetare adderades metoden till Previas rutinundersökning för vibrationsexponerade. Sju personer undersöktes. Sex av dessa hade arbetat på ett gjuteri mellan 3 månader till 11 år.

When harvesteing ley there is always mechanical losses from the harvest machines. During the last years the roundbalers with knives,cutting the material-are more common, This use increase the mechanical losses of material. MATERIALS AND METHODS The roundbaler which used in this test was a Krone Vario Pack 1500 Multi Cut. This roundbaler has 17 knives. The theoretical length of cut was 64 mm. During the test we stretched a rubber tarp under the balechamber and collected the materials which fell down from the balechamber.

Sedan 1965 har vi i Sverige haft strandskyddsbestämmelser i naturvårdslagen. Den innebär att vi inte har rätt att bebygga eller anlägga anordningar närmare än 100 meter från strandlinjen. Samma gäller från strandlinjen och 100 meter ut i vattnet, om inte strandskyddsdispens ges. Syftet med denna lag är att allmänheten ska kunna bada och idka friluftsliv samt att bevara djur- och växtlivet. Lagen säger att det måste finnas särskilda skäl för att få dispens och inget utrymme lämnas för en differentierad tillämpning.

My intention with this study is to evaluate, as a singer and a voice teacher, a number of routines for daily vocal practice through practical application. Seven different routines are presented, five of them originating from interviews with Swedish vocal teachers and singers and two chosen from literature. These routines are then tried out and evaluated. Using the results of these evaluations as a basis, I make an attempt at formulating my own personal practice routine, optimal for my own needs. I will also try to address motivational issues related to practice with hints acquired through the interviews.

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether it is possible for SCA to update their stand register with use of digital aerial photos photographed with a Zeiss/Intergraph DMC. ?Updating? in this study implies the delineation of stands and estimating stand variables such as average stand height, volume density, stand volume, and tree species composition in order to identify stands which can be of current interest for thinning. The study also includes how the aerial photo material and experience of the interpreter can influence the quality of the interpreted variables. The aerial photo interpretations were made by both experienced and inexperienced interpreters.

Today there is no way of measuring or simulating turbulent flow in high Reynolds numberenvironments. The computational power required to simulate these conditions is not expectedto be available for several decades so instead the CICLoPE project aims at solving thisshortage by the construction of a long carbon fiber wind tunnel in which real measurementscan be made. To do accurate measurements it is of importance that the wind tunnel, 0.9 metersin diameter and 110 meters long, is as straight as possible.This master thesis treat the design and construction of a device which may be used to align thetunnel along a reference laser beam. A design is presented which allows the pipe to be alignedwithin about a quarter of a millimeter along its entire length. Contents span over severalscience fields such as physics, mechanics, control theory and electronics.The result is a theoretically correct design.

Concrete is one of the world?s most common construction materials and is composed of 70-80 % stone material. Today crushed stone is used as aggregate in concrete in order to replace natural aggregates due to strong environmental reasons. Stone crushing yields flaky material and in this thesis studies are made on the flaky particle shape and how it influence properties of concrete such as workability, rheology and strength. The concrete recipes used in this thesis have fixed values, the only variable is the flakiness of the crushed stone.

After been told that an ordinary winter service for our combine should cost more than 20000 SEK, not included spare parts, I decided to write this paper about today?s requirement of the workshop on a farm. I think that the lack of proper premises is the reason way not more of the ordinary machinery maintenance or upkeep is performed on the farm. When I did my literature survey I found that the Swedish environmental code, set by the Swedish law regulate how drain or sewer should be built. The environmental code however leaves a lot for your own interpretation. It might not be so bad but it must be very hard for the local environmental office to interpretation the regulations, since they are the ones that gives permission for the sewer in your workshop.

Att bygga en 3 meter hög slänt med 80 graders vinkel som skall bära sig själv och dessutom belastas av tunga anläggningsfordon låter inte lätt. I detta arbete får du ta del av hur vi gjorde just detta på Northlands omlastningsterminal i Pitkäjärvi där järnmalm skall lastas om från bil till järnvägsvagnar och denna snäva höjdskillnad var ett måste. Vi hade fått delar av lösningen presenterad men insåg fort att det inte gick att utföra på projektörens sätt och hittade därför en egen lösning på det problemet. Jag beskriver i detta arbete den lösningen samt de problem som dyker upp på vägen med utförandet av branten vi byggt med hjälp av geonätskonstruktion..
