Deltaco är ett medelstort företag som säljer IT-relaterade produkter till datorbutiker, installatörer, industrikunder etc. men ej till slutkund. Deltaco har ett dotterbolag i Finland och ett i Danmark och flera avdelningar i Flemingsberg. Examensarbetet gjordes på avdelningen som heter RMA ( Retur Material Authorization). RMAs uppgifter är att ta hand om returnerade produkter som omfattas av garanti.

The Swedish healthcare system is characterized by lack of resources and extensive hospital queues. In order to counter these difficulties the Lund University Hospital have introduced Lean Healthcare to the hospital organization. The purpose of this scientific paper is to study the relationship between the implementation of Lean Healthcare and the experienced motivation among the staff. This essay thereby intends to impart knowledge, which could be used on future implementations of Lean Healthcare at other hospitals. In order to fulfil the purpose of this essay a case study have been conducted at two wards at the Lund University Hospital in which qualitative research interviews have been the method chosen in order to gather data.

The European Union is struggling to maintain democracy and tries to increase the participation among the citizens in Europe. The European Citizens? Initiative, ECI, is a platform established by the European Commission to allow citizens to propose new legislation. ?Water and sanitation are a human right! Water is a public good, not a commodity!? is the first ECI that has met the requirements.

As a result of global competition, companies within the automotive industry are required to improve their production systems to achieve sustainable and competitive production. To attain operational excellence, companies have adopted concepts like lean and World Class Manufacturing (WCM).In order to deliver, companies need to increase the availability and reliability of production equipment. This demands focus on both operational and strategic maintenance, and efficient equipment acquisition and management. The main objective of this thesis is to identify processes and success factors that are necessary for improved maintenance performance. By conducting a case study and by performing a literature review, the following has been studied: 1) how companies within the automotive industry work with maintenance and maintenance strategies, 2) implementation of maintenance strategies, and 3) new acquisition and spare parts management for maintenance. The results show that basic maintenance concepts and related terms are well defined in the literature.

Upon marketing the system in Europe and the USA cost savings generated from reduced work force have been prevailing. Since the cost of labour is much lower in the Asia Pacific region other factors have to be stressed. The parameters of flexibility and quality assurance may however cover any initial investment in a production system. Our purpose is to value flexibility and quality in a manufacturing context, applied to DAS, in order to use it in investment calculations. In order to make an adequate estimation of different companies, due to problems associated with acquiring correct figures, the Key Success Factors needs to be examined so that the gathering of numbers can be conducted with more focus.

Although Lean has received an increased amount of attention in the service context, research still has not established how successfully Lean manages to increase service productivity; since service productivity consists of both efficiency and quality. Research regarding productivity discusses the risk of a tradeoff between efficiency and quality in service production processes. Therefore, this thesis aims to explore if the tradeoff in a production setting with low variability in demand and low customer participation exists, after Lean has been implemented. With a qualitative approach, a case study has been conducted at Scandinavian Airlines Ground Handling to evaluate the effects of Lean in the baggage handling process. The result of the study shows that the tradeoff has not been overcome; efficiency has increased at the expense of quality.

Denna rapport är resultatet av ett examensarbete utfört vid Institutionen för industriell och ekonomisk utveckling vid Linköpings universitet på uppdrag av konsultbolaget Sustainia AB. Lean produktion, ofta benämnt Lean, har det senaste decenniet blivit en allt mer attraktiv produktionsfilosofi för att minska kostnader och öka kundnöjdhet genom förbättrad leveransservice och effektivare flöde. Ett flertal författare har påpekat att införandet av Lean direkt kan förbättra ett företags miljöprestanda, främst till följd av det minskade slöseri som Lean avser ge upphov till. Vidare finns studier som visar att vissa möjligheter till förbättringar och kostnadsbesparingar riskerar att gå oupptäckta om verksamheten ses ur ett strikt Lean-perspektiv. Med ett miljösynsätt finns dock chans att dessa blir upptäckta.

Den japanska industrins intresse under efterkrigstiden för ? denav Henry Ford (1863?1947) förädlade ? löpande bandsteknikenframbringade Toyotas Production System (TPS). Japanernasförfinade automationstanke väckte uppmärksamhet på denamerikanska bilmarknaden, vilket ledde till att TPS under 80-talet blev föremål för forskningsprojekt vars utkomst blev Lean.Från att ha utvecklats för fordonsindustri återfinns i Sverige idagexempel på alltifrån kommunstyren till sjukvården somassimilerat Lean som verksamhetsstyrande metod.Trots att några av de mer basala principerna bakom Lean ärenkelhet och tydlig kommunikation tenderar västerländskaföretag som implementerar Lean köpa konceptet, och med dettaanvändande av engelska och japanska termer eller akronymer iorganisationens vardag, rakt av. Arbetets syfte är att undersökahuruvida användningen av dessa termer på svensk- ellerengelskspråkiga företag på något sätt motverkar eller försvårarimplementeringen och förståelsen för Leans grundläggandefilosofi: Uppkommer det inom en organisation begreppsförvirringvid användandet av Leans terminologi?Studien är utförd vid tre Lean-implementerande organisationer avolika karaktär, genom intervjuer med Lean-ledare ochkvalitetschefer samt kortintervjuer av medarbetare.Resultatet visar att det vid en Lean-implementering, och arbetetefter det, förekommer förvirring och missanvändning av olikaverktyg och begrepp inom Lean.

AbstractOur purpose for making this study is to study the implementation, the use of and the effects of Lean within our case objects.  We chose to make this thesis by case studies. The three themes mentioned above is also the main research questions that we aim to find an answer to by this study. We have chosen to do a cross section analysis where we conducted structured interviews to find answers to these questions. The theoretical reference frame consists partly of traditional theoreticians within Lean but also more recent research within the subject as well as theory specifically for Lean within the Health Care sector.The result of this study shows in all our case studies that the Management has been supporting the implementation, but that the implementation process proceeds faster if also the professionals are involved in the process.  To succeed with the implementation there is a great need for good reasons and strives that can benefit the professionals. By the use of Lean our case studies have evaluated its processes, with the main intentions being to reduce waste activities and to create flows with ?pull systems?.

Titel: Innovate or Stagnate! ? Open innovation in manufacturing small and medium-sized businesses in Småland.The purpose of the study is that, from a leadership perspective (innovationmanagement), create a better understanding of open innovation in manufacturing small and medium-sized enterprises. The study therefore intends to contribute to the understanding of how open innovation processes leads to greater innovation in manufacturing small and medium sized businesses.We have used a qualitative research method and adopted an abductiveapproach. We made interpretations and created meaning based on our research results.Our theoretical framework is based primarily on Chesbroughs (2003) research on open innovation. Based on this model, we have selected a number of other theories, which we perceived as prerequisites for small andmedium sized companies in open innovation processes.

The construction industry has been heavily criticized in the past few years for its development of productivity compared to the manufacturing industry. In 2009 the Social Care Center developed a report that treated och criticized different errors within the construction industry. For instance competence, construction errors and performance had showned bad results which had to be improved. A common sentence within the building industry is that ?every project is unique?. Today it?s common for a construction company to have costs for material and services which exceeds two-thirds of the total cost.

Migrationsverket har sedan 2010 arbetat med att införa lean som arbetssätt i hela sin organisation. Lean härleds ofta historiskt till Toyotas styrsystem Toyota Production System, och har till största delen använts inom privata organisationer där effektivitet, produktivitet och ekonomiska värden varit de huvudsakliga målen. Ur ett statsvetenskapligt perspektiv är det därför av vikt att undersöka leans förmåga att även beakta de demokratiska värden som en offentlig verksamhet har att ta hänsyn till. Genom att intervjua handläggare och teamledare på Migrationsverkets mottagningsenhet i Boden om deras erfarenheter och upplevelser av lean som arbetssätt samt genom att studera deras interna arbetsmaterial har min ansats med denna uppsats varit att ge en bild av huruvida lean är ett lämpligt arbetssätt för offentlig verksamhet och om medarbetarna upplever att implementeringen av lean förändrar synen på värdena effektivitet och legitimitet i praktiken. Resultatet från denna undersökning visar att det finns ett starkt stöd för leans teoretiska förmåga att underlätta för medarbetarna att stärka rättssäkerheten samtidigt som arbetssättet ökar effektiviteten.

Statistik har visat att byggbranschens byggnationskostnader i Sverige har ökat de senaste åren. Dessa kostnader beror enligt Josephson & Saukkorippi på kvalitetsproblem och kostnader för omprojektering, samt att det i nuläget görs aktiviteter som inte tillför något kundvärde. Ett arbetsmoment som idag är en viktig del hos många byggföretag är arbetsberedning.
