The largest project at the AICG lab at Linköping University, Cognitive models for virtual characters, focuses on creating an agent architecture for intelligent, virtual characters. The goal is to create an agent that acts naturally and gives a realistic user experience. The purpose of this thesis is to develop and implement an appropriate learning model that fits the existing agent architecture using an agile project methodology. The model developed can be seen as an online unsupervised reinforcement learning model that enhances experiences through reward. The model is based on Maes model where new effects are created depending on whether the agent is fulfilling its goals or not.The model we have developed is based on constant monitoring of the system.

I dagsläget finns inget system som övervakar en tullstation utan att man måste vara på plats på kontoret eller stationen.Denna rapport handlar om utvecklingen av en övervaknings applikation i Windows 8 store app miljö på uppdrag av Combitech AB mot kunden Kapsch TrafficCom. Applikationen utvecklades mot en Windows 8 surfplatta för att kunna övervaka en tullstation.Användargränssnitt är utvecklat i XAML och dess logik i C#. Onion Architecture har används för att bygga upp arkitekturen i applikationen.Resultatet av examensarbetet blev en fungerande prototyp av en övervaknings applikationen till en Windows 8 surfplatta, där innehållet genereras av en simulator. Applikationen visar användaren information om en specifik tullstation, exempelvis passager och event. .

The purpose of the present study is to explore differences in the musical opinions and preferences and the quality of written language between pupils of two age groups (12 and 17 resp). Two classes were chosen, one from each age level. Each class/group was also divided by gender. The pupils asked to write an essay on their musical opinions and preferences. The essays were analyzed with respect to musical content and linguistic form.

This thesis examines Swedish filmmakers' modes of work and production within the Swedish film landscape. An introductory historical overview treats the Swedish regionalization since the mid 1990's. Political and economical aspects of producing films in various regions serve as a background for understanding the new generation of decentralised Swedish filmmaking, and the use of sound and music in contemporary film. The analysis consists of empirical studies; interviews with directors and producers, working with music for film and TV. Although the filmmaking perspective is in focus, composers and film scholars are heard as well.

Since my experience is that teachers in singing hardly ever talk about when to sing a tone, I have chosen to examine this fact through interviews and earlier research in this matter. The interviewed singing teachers belong to different genres (classical music, pop/rock, jazz and folk music). I asked them to share their thoughts about the word timing, when it comes to music. I also wanted to know if they have any methods when it comes to teaching students to improve their timing. Further on, I have been discussing the results and the literature in order to make clear in what way singing teachers give priority to when a tone is being sung.

As birch is one of the most common trees in Sweden, and probably one of the easiest for someone who lives here to identify, it is interesting to note that most people do not know how variable the genus is and how widely it is distributed across the northern hemisphere. One can find birch growing at both high and low elevations, demanding different soil conditions and preferring varying amounts of sunlight. Many people may also be surprised to hear that the colour of the bark can vary from bight white to almost black, and different shades of pink, orange and red can also be displayed. This, together with the astonishing beauty of the genus, the important role as a pioneer in many ecological systems and the difficulty in sorting out the taxonomy of the genus, constitutes the background of this thesis. Syftet med denna uppsats är att framförallt analysera de kvinnliga karaktärerna i Lord of the Rings ur ett genusperspektiv och att höja medvetandet om dessa karaktärers roll i filmerna. There are none known Bronze Age settlement on Gotland, although there are severalexcavation reports that mention that they have found a probable Bronze Age settlement. In the excavation that have been done in the study areas, there are Bronze Age dated hearths, cooking pits and post holes. These study areas have been investigated if they might be possible Bronze Age settlements. This paper discusses about the criteria of settlements and also investigate if the study areas meet those criterias. There are many different criteria for settlement but only the criteria of FMIS are used in the study.

Utgångspunkten för den pjäs som utgör en del av mitt magisterarbete är från första början egentligen en grundläggande socialpsykologisk iakttagelse. Det rör sig om det inte ovanliga (såvida jag inte fått allt om bakfoten) mänskliga draget att säga en sak och göra en annan, ett drag som tycks gälla mer som regel än undantag åtminstone på teatern. Jag utgår från att de ord som sägs alltid har en avsikt och en riktning, medveten eller omedveten. En person vill något med det den säger. Däremot är avsikten med de uttalade orden inte alltid densamma som den orden först låter oss tro.

This thesis examines five deposits, some of which contain stone axes, at the settlement in V?nersn?s, Sweden. Two of them date to the late Mesolithic era. The aim is to explore the ritual world of the late Mesolithic in V?sterg?tland, Sweden and its relationship to the landscape.

För att skriva den här uppsatsen gjorde jag en intervjustudie med ungdomar i musikskolan som spelat i några år. Syftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka ungdomarnas val att fortsätta med instrumentalstudier efter de första åren. Intervjuerna gjordes på en musikskola och bestod av både enskilda intervjuer samt av gruppintervjuer. Ungdomarna berättade om varför de fortsätter med instrumentalstudier. Resultatet av studien visar att ungdomarnas motiv att fortsätta att spela i musikskolan efter de första åren är både sociala och musikaliska.
