The present study examines a new production line of glue-laminated wood (glulam). The glulam is produced from non-planed boards of spruce, which also is convex, that is pressed together with high pressure during the gluing. According to a economic calculation, the material has a economical potential mainly on account of the absent planning. The study mainly found out that the shear strength of the material tolerated the demanded values in standard SS-EN 386, but the delaminating values did not. Since there are more areas to be studied around the material, the prospect to achieve the right delamination values is seen as positive..

Iliotibialt friktions syndrom (ITFS) är en av de vanligaste överbelastningsskadorna som drabbar knäet. Traditionellt har skadan betraktats som ett friktionssyndrom, senare studier har dock hävdat att en kompression av underliggande fettvävnad är orsaken till diagnosen. Etiologin och patologin bakom diagnosen har därmed inte kunnat fastställas. Kliniskt tillämpas stretching, styrketräning av höftabuktorer, neuromuskulär korrigering och myofaschiella behandlingsmetoder i rehabiliteringen av ITFS. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att sammanställa det vetenskapliga underlaget för behandlingsmetoder vid iliotibialt friktions syndrom.

A new generation has entered the labour market. The group is presented as Generation Y andis described as egocentric, spoiled, unloyal and money oriented. Lecturer advice companieson how to understand and lead this new generation. The advisement creates stereotypicalcharacteristics of the group, which then reflects on the generations own identity development.But aside the stereotypes that are created on the labour market, the generation puts a lot oftheir spare time into volunteer work, which is seen as altruistic. Syftet med projektet var att undersöka hur homogeniserings förhållanden (tryck antal passager och därmed energiinsatsen) vid framställning av MFC (mikrofibrillär cellulosa), från enzymatiskt förbehandlade pappersmassafibrer påverkar hållfastheten av papper förstärkt med MFC. Arbetsgivaren för projektet var Innventia och det laborativa arbetet har utförts i deras lokaler. Fördelen med att använda MFC som tillsats i papper är att arket blir starkare [1]. Detta medför att en mindre mängd material kan användas till ett material med liknande styrkeegenskaper.Vid Innventia används för närvarande en homogenisator för att delaminera (sönderdela) cellulosafibrer till fibriller och fibrillaggregat och därmed producera MFC. Homogenisatorn kan köras vid olika tryck, samt att cellulosafibrerna/MFC kan låtas passera genom homogenisatorn en eller flera gånger.

This thesis describes a conceptual design of a support frame for a synchronousgenerator used in a vertical axis wind power plant. In this system the generator isplaced on ground level. The thesis also considers the design of housing for thesupport frame and generator. The concept presented in this report is based on anearlier design. AbstractThe aim of this literature review was to describe the quality of life in stoma patients after stomasurgery. Different combinations of the keywords ?stoma?, ?Quality of Life?, ?stomasurgery? were used when searching in the databases Medline, Cinahl, Academic Search Elite and PubMed. This thesis examines the retrieval effectiveness of two Web search engines. The two search engines are chosen to represent two different types Google as a broad general search engine and Dogpile as a broad general metasearcher. Twenty queries have been used and the first twenty hits for each query were evaluated for relevance. The queries were invented by the authors, based upon their interests and information needs. They were expressed in a general manner, by using one or several keywords, in accordance with the simple search mode available for each search engine.

The automotive industry is increasingly studying lightweight solution in their designs, also rational production and low costs in materials and manufacturing methods are of great interest. This thesis consisted in the practical evaluation of anchors for sandwich panels. The object was to study loads of shearing and pull out of the plane. The experiments were carried out on panels made up of 1mm aluminium coatings and 50mm extruded polystyrene (XPS) at its core. Tidigare undersökningar av hållfastheten hos bergarterna i Kiirunavaara har främst gjorts genom enaxiella tryckhållfasthetsmätningar.
