The purpose of this master thesis is to study sponsoring of culture. The questions asked are: What are the reasons for sponsoring? What are the advantages of sponsoring? What are the disadvantages of sponsoring? What is the relation between public grants and sponsoring? The thesis is based upon studies of literature and a case study in Malmoe. Malmoe Public Library received about a million SEK over a period of three years from the foundation of Foreningssparbanken Skane. The money finances two projects, one with new books, Nyhetstorget, and one with strengthened information for small companies, Projekt Förstärkt Näringslivsinformation.

This report describes a final thesis done during the spring of 2008 as part of the bachelor degree in computer engineering degree at the School of Engineering in Jönköping.The client is working in the consulting business and is involved in, amongst others, work regarding information security. Within this field they perform so called Threat, Risk and Vulnerability assessments. Today these assessments are done by a predefined method, but many details are controlled by the person documenting the project. A wish was made that the implementation was standardized, it should also ease the task of estimating the need for time and money. The solution for this seems to be a software tool.

This is qualitative study of, four teacher´s views on the use of iPad in teaching and learning. In addition, I will examine the disadvantages and advantages of iPad use as a teaching tool in preschools.My questions are:What is the practical use of tablets in preschools today?Are preschool teachers using the tablet as a teaching tool? If so, how?Is the use of tablets in preschools contributing to children´s social interaction, as well as between children and teachers` social interaction?The purpose of this study was to find out how the four teachers uses the iPad as a teaching tool in the interaction between children in preschool. I have chosen to use Vygotsky?s and John Dewey´s theories.

Syftet med undersökningen är att ta reda på om niondeklassare anser att det är relevant att arbeta med sin självkännedom inför gymnasievalet samt om eleverna är medvetna om att den möjligheten finns hos en studie- och yrkesvägledare. Frågeställningarna som besvaras i denna undersökning är: Hur värdefullt anser eleverna att det är att arbeta med självkänne-dom inför deras gymnasieval? Hur medvetna är eleverna om deras möjlighet till att arbeta med sin självkännedom med hjälp av en studie- och yrkesvägledare? Vilka vägledningsme-toder anser eleverna är mer eller mindre relevanta för att öka sin självkännedom? Det finns studier som visar på att information tar större plats i ett vägledningssamtal än vad självkännedomsarbete gör. Som blivande studie- och yrkesvägledare har vi i utbildning ta-git del av olika karriärteorier och vägledningsmetoder som ska främja den sökandes själv-kännedom. I läroplanen, Lgr 11, nämns inte självkännedomsarbete som en del i vägled-ningen vilket det gjorde i läroplanen från 1980. En kvantitativ studie i form av enkäter har använts för att undersöka detta.

This is a historical documentary research study across Neva Leona Boyd (1876-1963). The theoretical perspective is based on the historical perspective of knowledge from ancient Greece to the approach of modern symbolic interactionism. The study shows that Boyd, who was Viola Spolins teacher, was a proponent of the modern view of group play theory. 1909 she founded Chicago School for Playground Workers, later transformed to the Recreation Training School. Until 1927, the school entered in Hull-House initiated by Jane Addams.

Att mäta och värdera motståndarens och sin egen krigföringsförmåga är angeläget i alla typer av militära konflikter. Svensk doktrin presenterar pelarmodellen som ett verktyg för detta. Med tanke på att den svenska försvarsmakten genomgått stora förändringar sedan pelarmodellen först introducerades i de svenska doktrinerna är det möjligt att den inte fyller sin funktion i de typer av militära konflikter som Sverige nu deltar i. I denna uppsats genomförs en teoriprövande studie av modellen i syfte att undersöka om den fortfarande är tillämpbar i sin befintliga form. Modellen prövas mot teorier av David Galula och John Warden vilka beskriver två typer av militära operationer som den svenska försvarsmakten deltar eller nyligen har deltagit i.Undersökningen visar att de faktorer som ingår i pelarmodellen också förekommer i Galulas och Wardens teorier samt att pelarmodellen fortfarande är tillämpbar i sin befintliga form.

The following article consists of two parts; one part is about house construction and the other is a specialization about radon. The house construction part describes how to project a house from start. It contains the conformation of the house, the installations needed, calculations considering the strength of the construction, energy calculation and what materials were chosen. Calculations considering the costs of building and operate the house has been carried out. The result showed that the house would cost approximately two million Swedish kroner to build and thirteen thousand kronor a year to operate.

Simulation is a vital tool during development of JAS 39 Gripen, since money and time can be saved.The Auxiliary and Emergency Power System, AEPS, is a subsystem of the secondary power system in Gripen. It has the function of providing the aircraft with electrical and hydraulical power before activation and after deactivation of the main engine. The system also functions as backup in case of a safety critical problem in the main power supply system. The system basically consists of a control unit and an auxiliary gearbox. The gearbox is driven by an air turbine.

Teenagers are the group that spends most money on clothing. When choosing clothes, the so called internal and external signals could affect the perceived quality of the teenagers. The external signals are for example price, brand and place of purchase while the internal signals are the physical composition of the product as for example garment and size. The perceived quality is the attributes that the teenagers perceive that the specific article of clothing has. Today?s marketing, within the fashion line, is mostly to present the design of the product and aim the marketing for curtain segments and to keep a distance to others that are not within the segment group.

Hedemora is the oldest town in Dalarna; traditionally acting as an important junction for trade. Nowadays, the town is suffering from a declining population and a poor economy. Therefore, it is important to explore how to best spend the money needed for Hedemora to become an attractive city once again. "Sociotops" are public spaces that have been evaluated by their users and by city planners, both working together. The result in the sociotop investigation will be used as a basis for city planning and as a foundation for discussing how to make the town a nicer environment. The sociotop investigation attempts to answer the questions: What places are popular and why? And What places are disliked? I approached the questions by using questionnaires, by arranging public walks in the city and by holding group interviews with children, along with my own observations. The information I have gathered is most detailed for children and youth between the ages of seven and twenty years old.

Syftet med den genomförda studien var att se om elever tar till sig nya kunskaper praktiskt om Förintelsen, jämfört teoretiskt och om det i sin tur lägger grund för etiska och moraliska ställningstaganden. Undersökningen kom därmed att grunda sig på både kvantitativ och kvalitativ forskningsmetod, genom enkätundersökningar, observation och reflektionstexter. I undersökningen kom fyra klasser i årskurs nio från två skolor i Norrbotten att medverka. Utav de 75 eleverna som medverkade, var det nio elever från Skola 1 som reste till Polen för att se förintelselägren Auschwitz I och Auschwitz II-Birkenau.I studien framkommer det att resan till Polen kom att bidra till att de nio eleverna kom att skapa sig bredare kunskap, samt djupare etiska och moraliska ställningstaganden. Detta i jämförelse med deras jämnåriga i denna undersökning.

Tången 2 is a building situated in Stockholm, Sweden. It´s built in the 1930s and contains both residences and businesses. The property owner, Diligentia AB, wants to lower the energy use in Tången 2. This report consists of an energy audit which clarifies the specific circumstances linked to Tången 2. Collected knowledge is then used, together with the results from the literature study, to decide energy measures to proceed with.

Swedish school system is today victim of facing competition. Today sees the school leadership the students like customers whom they depend to operate their school. But I have asked myself, what will be the new students see and how much this spectacle in both money and time that project will cost for the municipality and school teachers. The question is if whether the school will be better when the competition becomes school or just better marketed? I'm interested in how clearly ideologies emerge in schools brochures if we study them at critically and analytically way.
