In 1997, the Swedish parliament adopted a decision on Vision Zero (nollvision) in the road and transport system. Vision Zero means that no one should be killed or seriously injured in traffic accidents in the road transport system (Prop. 2003/04: 160). For the Transport Administration in Sweden (Trafikverket), this means increased demands on security and signage at road work sites around the country. This in turn means increased demands on the contractors that carry out road work for the Transport Administration.

ABSTRAKTIntroduktion: Att skapa arbetsmarknadsrelaterade rehabiliterings- och aktiveringsinsatser som kan leda till ?riktiga? arbeten har blivit något som man strävar efter i samhället och här har sociala arbetsintegrerade företagen i dag börjat ta plats. Den förstärkta, decentraliserade och delvis misslyckade aktiveringspolitiken har gett sociala företagare möjligheter att utforma nya organisationsformer som kan erbjuda arbetsträning, rehabilitering och arbetstillfällen för grupper som i dag befinner sig utanför den reguljära arbetsmarknaden. Sedan millenniumskiftet har det skett en avsevärd ökning av sociala arbetsintegrerade företag i Sverige. Ändå övertygar inte argument att de sociala företaget betyder mycket för människor, att det skapar jobb, att människor får tillit och att det är en plattform för mänskligt växande.

Organising knowledge in a corporate environment : a case study at the development departments of Ecophon ABThe purpose of this master's thesis is to investigate how three development departments of a technical firm could organise their collection of documents and information resources to improve their management of information. Three sets of questions have been posed: 1) How does the target group of engineers deal with information, and what problems can be identified in this process? 2) What does their collection of resources consist of, how is it organised, and what problems are apparent? 3) How can principles of knowledge organisation be applied in a corporate environment?The investigation has been carried out as a case study. Three main methods of collecting empirical data have been used: surveys, unstructured interviews and collection observations. The results of the study have highlighted three major problem areas: the collection's lack of structure and searchability, the absence of policy regarding how employers should deal with information, and the inadequate knowledge among staff on how to search for, use and disseminate information.By looking at previous research on knowledge organisation, we have been able to draw conclusions regarding how the target group could organise and manage its information and knowledge in order to achieve greater efficiency in dealing with information and carrying out work tasks.

Grundfrågan för den här uppsatsen är: Hur styr vi våra liv? Jag kommer att försöka formulera ett svar utifrån debatten mellan liberaler och kommunitarister. Det kan tyckas vara en fråga med stora implikationer som jag har valt. Det är det för all del också. Jag varken tror att jag kan, eller har ambitionen att täcka hela det fält som frågan täcker.

Families with limited financial resources risk social exclusion in today?s consumption-based society, where status and identity are tied to items like clothing, gifts and activities. Limited financial resources can therefore often lead to social isolation because consumption is central to social participation, something that can rarely be prioritized in poor families. In preschool, unclear policies on extra costs can negatively affect families. The purpose of the study was to investigate how socioeconomically vulnerable families experience and are affected by the preschool and its requirements, as well as how preschool teachers work to reduce the economic gap among families in the preschool context.

Electricity production from renewable energy resources such as wind energy and photovoltaics is variable. Integration of these intermittent resources into the electricity system leads to new challenges in how to manage imbalance between supply and demand on the grid.One way to meet these challenges is to develop so-called smart grid solutions. One idea, called demand response, is to adjust the amount or timing of energy consumption, e.g. by control of household appliances, to provide flexibility that could be used to balance the grid. In aggregate, when applied to many units across the system, large volumes of energy could be made available when needed and this grid flexibility can be used as a product on the electricity regulation market.Despite the potential benefits, the number of demand response bids is currently low.

Uppsatsen syftar till att jämföra hur förbunden Kommunal och Metall har debatterat och agerat kring arbetstidsförkortning mellan 1988 och 2003. Båda förbunden har haft Landsorganisationens (LO) mål om trettiotimmarsvecka som vision. Kommunal består till största delen av deltidsarbetande kvinnor, medan Metalls medlemmar domineras av heltidsarbetande män. Medlemmarnas argument för arbetstidsförkortning att det skapar fler jobb, förbättrar hälsan, samt ökar jämställdheten har analyserats. Förbunden har valt att agera olika i frågan om arbetstidsförkortning, där Metall har infört arbetstidsförkortning i form av en arbetstidsbank, medan Kommunal under våren 2006 slopade kravet på sextimmarsdag..

This MSc thesis is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the need for information from forest campartments selected for clear cutting, in connection with planning in an integrated forest- and sawmill enterprise. A review of literature is followed by a case stud y, where present conditions in a Swedish forest company are compared with current research in the area. The seeond part consists of a simulation stud y, which aims at camparing the accuracy of inventory estimates using different methods. The estimates are delivery forecasts, covering one month consumptian of timber in a large sawmill.

Many sources point to the same conclusion; throughout the history the research sphere, mass media, governmental industry policies and public life in common have not paid the same attention to medium-sized companies as to small, new or large companies in Sweden. Yet, there are some researchers claiming the need for the medium-sized companies to grow, becoming tomorrow?s Swedish new large companies. Hence, the need for understanding the specific growth conditions of the medium-sized companies are definitely clear. This study aims firstly to identify whether there are specific requirements and obstacles for growth in connection to being a medium-sized company.

Uppsatsen har som syfte att undersöka hur det är att vara ishockeyspelare. Från när passionen för sporten väcks tills dess att den avslutas och en ny karriär inom arbetslivet ska ta fart. Undersökningen kommer att ta fasta på hur det är att försörja sig på sin hobby samt vilka fördelar och nackdelar som det medför. I resultatet av undersökningen kommer det att framstå av de som vi har intervjuat att arbeta med sin hobby som ishockey är ett arbete och ett jobb, att det krävs mycket av utövaren. Frågeställningarna är uppdelade i fyra olika delar som tillsammans sammanfattar livet som ishockeyspelare.

Problem: After several corporate scandals concerning accounting around the world a discussion concerning corporate governance arose. The public demanded greater insight and better corporate governance in public companies. The discussions led to the development of codes of corporate governance, codes such as the Sarbanes Oxley Act, the Combined Code and the Swedish Code of Corporate Governance. The Swedish code is a clarifying of the Swedish law, a codification of praxis and in some cases an increase in the demands on reporting of information from the companies.Purpose: The purpose of the thesis is to describe what effects the Swedish Code of Corporate Governance has had on the content of annual reports of listed companies and if different types of companies have been affected in different ways.Method: The investigation was conducted using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Through a preliminary study knowledge about the subject was gathered.

Personalarbetet har sedan det introducerades i organisationer präglats av ett skiftande fokus och en otydlig ansvarsfördelning. Detta har resulterat i att personalchefers arbetsroll saknar tydliga gränser och ofta slits mellan att vara operativ och strategisk. Tidigare forskning visar att organisationsstrukturen skapar olika hinder och möjligheter för arbetsrollen och dess inflytande i organisationen. Samtidigt saknar personalchefer ofta den makt och prestige som traditionellt sätt finns i en chefsroll, vilket ytterligare bidrar till att skapa en komplexitet i arbetsrollen. Syftet med studien är att utifrån intervjuer med fem decentraliserat organiserade personalchefer skapa kunskap om hur personalchefer upplever sin arbetsroll och sitt inflytande i organisationen.

The aim of this bachelor-thesis is to study how the City Library in Norrköping, in collaboration with the outpatient centre, Gränden, has assisted people with substance abuse problems through a bibliotherapeutic reading circle known as, Människor mellan raderna (People between the lines). My theoretical framework is based upon Ruth M. Tews and Berth Danermark?s theories. Tew states that in order to create a well-functioning team consisting of various professional competences, each individual needs to possess certain character traits including the ability to contribute with their unique competence and an openness to receive and absorb the other participants? contributions.

The intrest and development of bioenergy and energy from renewable sources in Sweden has increased rapidly over the last few years.
