A case study has been done with semi-structured interviews at a company and a nonprofit organization.Conclusion: The reality in which Nordea operates conforms to the theories presented in the thesis when we look at the driving forces behind working with CSR and the demands on the company that stakeholders have.

The purpose with the study is to see how middle managers in communal elderly care looks at the implementation of the salutogenic way of working in their operations. And how it affects the middle managers working situation. We studied which scope of actions middle managers has in the salutogenic way of working. We had previous knowledge that the salutogenic working way is an ongoing work of development in several communes, and therefore we chose to study in a profound way how this work of development affects the middle managers working situation. To reach a deeper knowledge about how the salutogenic way of working affects the middle managers working situation we conducted a qualitative study with been seven semi-structured interviews with middle managers in different geographical communes.

Latvia has been an independent state twice, the first time during the years 1918-1940 and the second time from the year 1991 and ahead. During these two periods Latvia has been a destination for tourists. The aim of this study is to describe how Latvia as a destination has developed during the years of independence. One further aim is to compare what Latvia?s tourism industry looked like during the same periods to descry similarities and differences.

This report treats detection in IR-pictures taken from airplanes over the ground. The detection is divided in two parts. First there is a detection with filterkernels with the task to point on targets and objects that look like targets. The second part is a discriminator that demands more calculations and has the task to sort out the false alarms from the discriminator. Both the detector and the discriminator contain thresholds thats been trained from trainingsets of data.

It has become more important how to communicate via the Internet. It is necessary to highlight interesting features and to capture the visitors interest. Members of Jönköping Sport dance club (JSDK) were not quite satisfied with their website. The purpose of this study was therefore to create a design for a website which met the demands made by the members and also appealed to other visitors..

GIS on the Internet is a rather new phenomenon, which has evolved from the need ofdistributed geographical data. It is also a powerful tool for presenting information on theInternet. This master thesis aim to create a web based GIS application with information onlime spreading and the situation concerning acidification in the county of Kronoberg, Sweden.The web based GIS application will be used by the county administrations in Kronoberg toinform the public and the municipal authorities of current counteracting acidification activity.This report includes documentation on acidifying processes and liming activities, which arepublicised together with the web based GIS application. The web based GIS application wascreated with ArcIMS, a new program in the ESRI family of GIS programs. The programincludes a guided structure, to development of everything from a map to a complete GISapplication, including mapservice and websites.

My main purpose for this paper was to find out what the four teachers I interviewed thought about the design of their classroom and how they linked that to pedagogy, pupils learning and policy documents. I also wanted to find out if classroom design were something they discuss and reflects on in the college.My questions for this study were: What do some teachers who work in the early ages in the school think about the classroom design? Do these teachers link the classroom design to policy documents or pedagogy? Do these teachers consider classroom design to be something that should be discussed in the same way as other factors (for example teaching aids, resources etc.) within the college?My method was to make qualitative interviews with four teachers, analyze their answers and link them to my main theories and research in the area of the study. My main theories were multimodal communication, which means that there are several systems of signs in communication, which all have an essential function for the meaning of the communicated. It also means that learning happens both individually and socially and that school is a social construction, and that the system of opportunities and boundaries in which it takes form is mediated within our multimodal systems.

Pets like dogs and cats have a considerable importance for humans and research demonstrate a variety of positive economic and social effects in society due to our pet companions. The presences of pets are increasing on a global scale with correlation to economic development in low- and middle income countries. For example dogs have doubled in India over a five year period. The feed industry for dogs and cats is also the fastest growing sector in the food industry and certain pets have a significant animal protein intake which, depending on the choice of resources may provide a high ecological footprint. Examples of environmental effects with distribution and manufacturing of pet food are increased greenhouse gas emissions, waste, use of water and energy.

Den förstärkta, decentraliserade och delvis misslyckade aktiveringspolitiken har gett sociala företagare möjligheter att utforma nya organisationsformer som kan erbjuda arbetsträning, rehabilitering och arbetstillfällen för grupper som i dag befinner sig utanför den reguljära arbetsmarknaden. Sedan millenniumskiftet har det skett en avsevärd ökning av sociala arbetsintegrerade företag i Sverige. Ändå övertygar inte argument att de sociala företaget betyder mycket för människor, att det skapar jobb, att människor får tillit och att det är en plattform för mänskligt växande.

Många byggprojekt är redan från start tids- och prispressade, vilket gör dem känsliga för ändringsarbeten. Det krävs att projektet är väl projekterat för att onödiga kostnader inte skall dyka upp, speciellt i ett ROT-jobb där man skall anpassa sig efter befintliga lokaler. Många ändrings-PM och ÄTA-arbeten kan bli kostsamt för både beställaren och entreprenörer. Att konsultera en installationssamordnare i projekteringsstadiet kan därför bli en vinst för projektet, speciellt när många och omfattande installationsarbeten skall utföras.Min praktik på Kungsfiskaren Bygg och Fastighet utfördes på ett bygge i frihamnen i Stockholm. Ett bygge som växte och drog ut på tiden, mycket på grund av många ändrings PM och ÄTOR.Rapporten innehåller en sammanställning över installations PM och ÄTOR som gjorts, och en kalkyl för installationssamordning..

Mitt examensarbete handlar om hur arbetslösa ungdomar med försörjningsstöd kan se på sin situation, sin framtid och praktik som en språngbräda ut i arbetslivet. Uppmärksamhet läggs på de möjligheter och hinder som de ser på sin väg. Examensarbetet bygger på en kvalitativ studie där tre ungdomar intervjuats. Karolina Bozic, ungdomshandläggare vid Arbetsmarknadsenheten i Halmstad, har även hon intervjuats för att ge en bild av arbetet med de arbetslösa ungdomarna som har försörjningsstöd. Resultatet av mina intervjuer har analyserats utifrån de faktorer som enligt Giddens (2003) ger en förståelse för hur arbetslösheten kan påverka en människa.

During the last decade a number of studies have been published that investigate how the most fundamental aspect of political organization, the regime type, affects population health. The results unanimously show that citizens of democracies live longer and healthier lives than citizens of non-democracies. Many explanations for this have been suggested, among these are that democracies redistribute more and invest more in salutogenic resources, and that the tendency of dictatorships to control the media negatively affects the ability to spread information crucial to public health. When these mechanisms are controlled for, however, it turns out that democracy has a large residual correlation with for example life expectancy, which suggests that other mechanisms are also involved.In this paper two new mechanisms regarding the possible psychosocially mediated health effects of the regime type are investigated, namely political repression, and the possible negative effects this might have on the levels of chronic stress, and autonomy, which connects to a large previous literature in social epidemiology. In the paper an ecological cross-country design is used and country-level data, provided mainly by the World Bank and Freedom House, is analyzed with a simple multiple OLS-regression model.

Som inredningsarkitekt är det mitt jobb att skapa miljöer som andra ska vistas i, trivas i och förstå. Det förutsätter att jag förstår något om på vilka sätt andra människor tänker och upplever.Syftet med mitt kandidatarbete har varit att förstå mer om hur olika människor upplever världen och på vilket sätt jag kan förhålla mig till det i mitt yrke som inredningsarkitekt. Jag har valt att studera en specifik grupp människor, människor med autism, deras syn på och upplevelser av de miljöer vi lever i. Detta står att läsa om i kapitel 5.1 till 5.4. Jag har sedan använt min undersökning som bas för en gestaltning.
