Två grundläggande paradigm inom datavetenskap är objektorienterad programmering och relationsdatabasteknik. En kombinering av applikationer gjorda i ett objektorienterat programmeringsspråk med den beständighet och funktionalitet som ges av relationsdatabaser är en möjlig vidareutveckling av ens kunskaper inom dessa områden. Kombinationen av dessa båda förutnämnda paradigm innebär åtminstone ett problem som uppkommer då en relationsdatabas lagrar data i tabeller och en objektorienterad applikation lagrar data i objekt. Detta problem kallas objekt/relations paradigmens missanpassning. På grund av detta problem så måste kopplingen mellan paradigmen skötas av ett ramverk av något slag.

Målet med detta examensarbete har varit att undersöka möjligheten att visa larmstatus från en byggnad på en tredimensionell VRML-modell. Modellen skall kunna visa status baserat på händelser från larmsystemet och erbjuda viss interaktion på objekt i modellen. Resultatet som jag uppnått är ett Javafönster i vilket en tredimensionell VRML-modell är presenterad. För att presentera modellen används en VRML-tolk till att ladda in modellen. Java 3D används sedan för att presentera modellen för användaren.

The objective of this essay has been to show how the image of the Soviet Union in ?Alla tiders historia? differs in the 1989 and 2004 editions of the book. To explain these differences I have used a discourse analytic perspective, mainly inspired by Michel Foucault and his philosophical theories of the constructions of objects, and also Faircloughs critical discourse analysis inspired by Gramsci.In this paper the two editions of ?Alla tiders historia? are presented with quotes which are then analysed from using my theoretical framework. In the 1989 edition three themes emerged: continuity, undecidability and ambivalence, which together present an image of a Soviet Union which is not clearly defined within the political discourse.In the 2004 edition this struggle over the discourse has been settled and the Soviet Union?s position as a dictatorship has been determined, at the same time as the Soviet Union is put in a negative relationship with Czar Russia and is connected with Nazi Germany.

This paper intends to show how micro- and small businesses in the tourism and experience industry makes use of social media as a marketing tool. The study also shows the possibilities for businesses to market themselves to customers through social media. Small businesses usually don?t have the same conditions or the same marketing resources that larger companies have. For small businesses that lack marketing resources, social media is a great addition to marketing since the technology around social media is relatively simple.

Advertisers of today are facing a great challenge in a landscape where it becomes even more difficult to break through the clutter and convince consumers to buy their products. In order to succeed, they need to come up with new ways of communicating with their customers. The purpose of this paper is to investigate if micro-blogging could be considered an effective media choice in order to enhance the perception of brand associations and traditional communication effects. The subject is of interest as brands are putting increasingly more resources into this communication channel. However, at the current date the marketing effects of micro-blogging is unexplored in academic research.

Detta examensarbete har utförts i samarbete med företaget Systemagic AB. Systemagic är ett teknikföretag vars expertis ligger inom mjukvaruutveckling inom IPTV-teknologi. Detta innefattar bland annat utveckling av middleware till digitalboxar, också kallade Set-top-boxar.Middleware är den mjuk- och hårdvaruinfrastruktur som sammankopplar de olika delarna av ett IPTV-system. Det är ett distribuerat operativt system som både finns på operatörens servrar samt i slutanvändarens digitalbox. Då det idag ställs allt högre krav på funktionalitet och dynamik från beställare blir utvecklingen av ett modernt middleware mycket resurskrävande. Systemagic anser att en stor bidragande orsak till den resurskrävande utvecklingsprocessen kan kopplas till användningen av scriptspråket JavaScript och är därför intresserade av alternativa metoder.Google Web Toolkit (GWT) är ett Java-ramverk som kan användas för att på ett snabbt och smidigt sätt utveckla interaktiva webbapplikationer. Detta möjliggörs genom att all utveckling sker i Java.

The aim of our study is to explore the empowerment process among micro-business owners in Kayamandi, a black township of Stellenbosch in South Africa. What are the positive and negative implications for the empowerment process? Another aim is to find out the role of local and international support in this process. The theoretical framework of this study revolves around the concepts of gender, power and empowerment. Our methods are qualitative interviews and observations.

Denna rapport beskriver utvecklingsprocessen av ett bokningssystem till en frisersalong. Bokningssystemet ska användasför att boka tider för kunder och också underlätta administrationen för de anställda. I rapporten beskrivs arbetsprocessen steg för steg med kravspecifikation, designspecifikation, gränssnitt och till sist resultat. Bokningssystemet täckte alla grundläggande krav som kunden hade. En förbättring vore att i utvecklingen av gränssnittet mer noggrant analysera användarens krav ur ett användbarhetsperspektiv.

Websites are often developed by small businesses, organizations or individuals which may lead to that the testing gets left behind; the focus is on getting a finished product that can be deployed as quickly and as cheaply as possible.Functional testing is important also for websites and a variety of aids exist. With the right tools and methods the development work is facilitated, and it leads to products with fewer faults.This report shows in the form of a case study how an appropriate tool for functional testing can be selected and how it can be used within development of a website. An analysis of the tools available is reported and JSystem is selected as the most appropriate for this case.It turned out that JSystem could not be used fully as intended in terms of deployment, but a well-functioning alternative solution was developed.A number of test cases were created without any unsolvable problems and JSystem performed well. This thesis is a feasibility study for a future product development project. The purpose ofthis project is to evaluate the possibilities and difficulties associated with the design of anelectric power assist servo for all terrain vehicles (ATVs). The project has been carriedout in collaboration with Nira Control AB. Nira designs and manufactures electric andelectro mechanic products mainly for the motor sport market segment.Nira Control AB is developing a fuel injection system for a new line of large ATVs oncommission. This master thesis work was done by two students at Machine Design at KTH for Lesjöfors Stockholmsfjäder AB. The task was to develop a calculation program for gas springs. The program is going to ease the selection of gas springs for a given case of a lid that should be opened. The program is going to be used internal by sales people at Lesjöfors AB in Sweden and internationally. The program is therefore written in English.The program was developed in Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition.

The purpose of this assignment is to develop a process water purifier. The purifier should be applicable as an option to ABB I-R?s production cell Cutting-Box. At first hand the process water should be purified well enough to let out in the municipal sewage system, but the ultimate solution is purifying the process water to the range that recycling is possible.
