Beräkningsprogram för gasfjädrar

This master thesis work was done by two students at Machine Design at KTH for Lesjöfors Stockholmsfjäder AB. The task was to develop a calculation program for gas springs. The program is going to ease the selection of gas springs for a given case of a lid that should be opened. The program is going to be used internal by sales people at Lesjöfors AB in Sweden and internationally. The program is therefore written in English.The program was developed in Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition. It contains functions to easily create a graphical user interface. The logic in the program is written in the programming language C#. The result is a stand-alone application which requires no installation; however the platform Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 needs to be installed on the users computer.The user provides information of the lid?s geometry, weight and desired opening angle. The program then shows a two dimensional picture of the lid and the gas spring, and a curve of the force that is required by the gas spring to balance out the lid in every angle. A list of suggested gas springs from the company?s range of products is then shown. Because the customer can special order a gas spring, there is an option to customize a gas spring in the program. When the user has selected a gas spring, a curve of how much force the user must add to open the lid in every angle, is shown. In the picture of the lid, an extra lid is presented and shows how much the selected gas spring is able to open the lid. The user can then experiment with the geometry and different gas springs to find the best solution.The project can be saved as a file and opened at a later time. When the user is satisfied with the result, the project can be printed and sent by fax to the customer or saved as a PDF-document and e-mailed to the customer.
