Today, the management concept of lean has stretched far from its origins in the Japanese automobile industry. When reaching the Swedish restaurant industry, the conditions for a successful implementation of lean change as a result of the high employee turnover and the significant amount of part-time employees characteristic for the industry. Combined with a high-end service profile, these workforce characteristics seem inconsistent with some of the basic principles of lean. By conducting a case study, this thesis aims to investigate the effects of a variable workforce on the enablers for a successful implementation of lean in a high-end service industry. Using a theoretical framework consisting of enablers for an implementation of lean in services, the study finds that the variable workforce inhibits an implementation of lean by complicating the effects of traditional training, as well as the possibility of understanding the lean concept at all levels of the organization.

Speletutvecklades i första hand för mobila enheter, och i rapporten ingår även en kort undersökningav mobila spel i ett historiskt perspektiv. Även spelets genre, JRPG, en förkortning avJapanese Role Playing Game, kommer att förklaras som hastigast med referenser till andraspel inom genren.Spelet programmerades för Android OS version 2.3 och framåt i språket Java. En avsvårigheterna som påträffades, såsom beskrivs i rapporten, var att säkerställa att speletfungerar för den varierande prestanda som mobila enheter utgör, inklusive aspekter såsommed eller utan hårdvaruacceleration av grafik, varierande mängd lagringsutrymme ochprocessorkärnor samt storlek på skärmar. Japan's foreign and security policy has seen some substantial changes as a result of events like the first Gulf war and 9/11th. This has been taken as proof, by some, that Japan is abandoning its antimilitaristic stance and pursuing a more traditional hard power role through military means. This essay aims to explore if these shifts have coincided with any substantial shifts away from antimilitarism, which has had a strong influence on the country's security policy since the end of WW2.To do this I use constructivist theory, specifically regarding the impact of norms and identities on states security policy and briefly look into the problem of actor designation. The thematic focus is on security policy, from a narrow perspective, and thus I examine areas like the input and output to the Japanese military and the actual applications of this force. State identity is used to explore the prevalence of nationalistic sentiments and support for anti militarism in the public opinion and the political elite.The result of this study points to the further relevance of constructivist theory and especially the application of norms and identity.

The purpose of this study is to describe some primary school teachers understanding of language development and approach of first and second language speakers with Arne Tragetons Writing to reading, for pupils in early ages.By using a qualitative method with interviews and participant observations and informal conversations, the basis for the survey was collected. Four teachers in three schools participated. The proportion of second-language pupils at each school was 35%, 17% and 0%. My theoretical starting point in the study was the hermeneutic research tradition, which has been used to interpret and understand the collected material. Theories of behaviorism, constructivism and socio-cultural perspective has been used in the analysis part of this study.

South Korea is one of the fastest growing economies of the world and experts claim that it?s headed towards the same direction as Japan. This doesn?t imply that the countries are similar to an extent where companies don?t have to consider the differences while entering the host market. This study was conducted for the purpose of giving a view of the business climate in the countries and thereby could help companies who see the countries as potential host markets.

The purpose of the present study is to investigate mindfulness as a New Age phenomenon in the modern western society. Since a religious phenomenon does not exist in a vacuum, but is dependent on its historical and cultural context, my aim is to give a broad depiction of mindfulness and New Age in its wider context, the historical background and the societal implications of common values, themes and concepts that are frequent in the literature, how mindfulness is presented by the authors of popular literature and also how it is presented in science. In order to bring forward a deeper understanding of New Age and mindfulness? role in the modern western society, my intention is to see how the authors of mindfulness claim validity of their doctrines in the discourse. Mindfulness attracts a wide range of perpetrators and is used in many areas in the society today.

Vi har genom kvalitativa intervjuer undersökt upplevelser av gemenskap och identitet i en buddhistisk meditationsgrupp. Vi har även intresserat oss för skillnaderna som de tio deltagarna upplever mellan gruppen och samhället i stort när det gäller dessa aspekter samt vad gruppen har för betydelse för deltagarnas liv utanför den. Resultatet av studien visar på en relativt hög grad av gemenskap mellan medlemmarna och att deltagandet i gruppen har haft inverkan på individens självbild samt en betydelse för de sociala interaktionerna utanför gruppen. Vi har valt att analysera vårt material med teorier från Scheff, Collins och Jenkins som behandlar gemenskap och identitet. Genom dessa har vi kommit fram till slutsatserna att meditationsträffarna innebär lyckade interaktionsritualer som i sin tur leder till stärkt självkänsla och gruppsolidaritet samt att sättet att bemöta varandra på bidrar till stärkta sociala band.

Denna studie undersöker hur rapporteringen kring de fem världsreligionerna skiljer sig mellan en sekulär och en religiös nyhetstidning. Tidningarna är den kristna tidningen Dagen samt Dagens Nyheter (DN). En kvantitativ innehållsanalys har genomförts på totalt 188 artiklar från kristna Dagen och 47 från sekulära DN för att analysera religionsrapporteringens innehåll. Nio artiklar har sedan analyserats kvalitativt med fokus på hur religionen och dess utövare gestaltas. Undersökningsperioden var första kvartalet 2014.

The main aim of this thesis is to investigate the implications and dynamics behind consistency between individual resource allocation decisions and corporate strategy concept. The telecom industry, a high-velocity environment going through an extensive deregulation process, is put under the magnifying glass. Japanese telecom giant NTT Group is compared to its German counterpart Deutsche Telekom. Potential antecedent factors in the strategic decision-making process to consistency are studied. It is also examined whether there is a direct interplay between consistency and economic performance.

Detta arbete syftar till att tillföra kunskaper om hur buddhismen framställs i svenska lärobokstexter i skolämnet religionskunskap. Arbetet innehåller en kvalitativ textanalys av tre nya läroböcker skrivna för årskurs 4-6. Analysen sker utifrån tre teman med utgångspunkt i frågeställningarna. De behandlar jämförelser med andra religioner, variationer inom buddhismen och buddhistiska trosuppfattningar och riter. Utgångspunkten för analysen finns i begreppet orientalism, då tidigare forskning har visat att läroböcker ofta framställer icke-kristna religioner utifrån orientalistiska strukturer.

This study is about quantum physics and the role it can play in a religious perspective. I intend to examine how moderna physics may be related and understood as New age and Myths. My material consists of two books in the new age genre: "The Tao of Physics" by Fritjof Capra and "The Quantum Self" by Danah Zohar. My first two question to these books are which 1) religious and 2) scientific content they have. My other questions are too 3) investigate and demonstrate how these books are new age and 4) to exanine how the books can function as myths and adopt mythical features.

The objective of this study was to investigate differences in the portrayal of Western European citizens and non Western European citizens in Hergé?s graphic novels about the young journalist Tintin. We wanted to see if the globalization during the mid 1900?s had an effect on Hergé?s way of portraying the world. We started off by selecting nine novels from three different periods of time, though we read all of the novels in The Adventures of Tintin.

Den här undersökningen har visat att reinkarnationstanken finns inom ett flertal olika religioner. De religioner jag har tagit upp är Aboriginerna, några afrikanska religioner (Bambara, Benin, Edo, Yoruba, Evéerna, Igbo, Zulu), Antroposofi, Asatro, Buddhism, Cao Dai, Druser, Hare Krishna, Hinduism, Jainism, New Age, Scientologi, Taoism, Teosofi, Transcendental Meditation och Wicca. Jag hittade även andra religioner där reinkarnationstanken ingår men på grund av tidsbrist så hann jag inte sätta mig in i dessa.Begreppet karma återfinns i nästan hälften av de religioner jag har tagit upp i min undersökning. De religioner där karma ingår är: Antroposofi, Buddhism, Cao Dai, Hare Krishna, Hinduism, Jainism, New Age, Transcendental Meditation och Wicca. De har alla rötter i den indiska religiösa traditionen, förutom kanske Wicca.

Psykologiska    processer    där    identifikationen    med    jaget    och medvetandets innehåll upphör kan tänkas utgöra en hälsosam motvikt i  dagens  samhällskultur  där  centrering  kring  jaget,  stress,  depression och meningsförlust, ofta förekommer. Självtranscendens har beskrivits som en expansion av medvetandet och en rörelse bortom gränserna för ens självmedvetenhet och självuppfattning, antingen tillfälligtvis eller som  en  relativt  stabil  perspektivförändring  som  utvecklats  under livsloppet.  Sex  personer  mellan  54  och  100  år  med  erfarenhet  av självtranscendenta   perspektiv   intervjuades   i   studien   i   syfte   att induktivt  generera  mer  kunskap  om  hur  självtranscendens  kunde upplevas, utvecklas och förändra en människas perspektiv. Genom en tematisk    analys    framkom    att    en    regelbunden    aktivering    av självtranscendenta     medvetandetillstånd     särskilt     inverkade     på utvecklingen   och   kopplades   till   principer   om   neuroplasticitet. Självtranscendensutvecklingen     medförde     även     förändringar     i respondenternas perception av inre och yttre fenomen exempelvis vad gäller   känslighet,   jagupplevelse   och   möjlighet   till   distans   och objektivitet, vilket även bidrog till psykologisk hälsa..

The aim of this paper is to study how school yoga in Östermalmsskolan is expressed in the texts consist of a notification to the Schools Inspectorate, an opinion to the Schools Inspectorate and a statement of the Schools Inspectorate. The method used for the investigation is a critical discourse analysis which study social and political processes in the society as created through language. The perspective of the critical discourse analysis is a social construction that considers that language is a social production created in a discursive way. It produces and reflects social process in the language. By using theories of different concepts such as yoga, religion, spirituality, non-denominational and freedom of religion, my aim is to investigate how yoga is expressed in the school inspectorate text.
