Hemlöshet, inte bara ett storstadsfenomen? : - En kvalitativ studie av hemlöshet i en mellanstor kommun.

The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze homelessness in a medium-sized municipality from an organizational perspective. Some of the central questions in this study are: How is the cause of homelessness explained? How do different actors in the community address, prevent and combat homelessness? Who is responsible for the homelessness?This study is based on four semi-structured interviews with organizations that work with homelessness. The analysis is based on problem definition theory.The result of this study shows that homelessness is a problem in this medium-sized municipality even if it is not a big one and that it is often closely combined with substance abuse. The responsibility for the homeless is on the homeless themselves and the social service because that causes is, according to this study, individual based.  .

Institutionella omgivningen i förändring

The purpose of this thesis was to examine relevance of the proposition made by new insitutionalists about institutional and technical environment. This proposition originaly made by Meyer & Rowan (1977) has two core assumptions: The first is that all organizations are controlled by combinations of types of demands; technical demands for efficient production and institutional demands to adept to cultural and normative expectations. The second assumption is that there exists a few organizations dominated almost entirely by one typy of demand. Organizations dominated by institutional demands are said to live in an institutional environment, while technical organizations is said operate in a technical environment. This thesis has examined if these assumptions are still applicable in describing organizational interaction with the environment.

As a result merger and acquisitions has become a part of the health care sector, and seems to be an increasing phenomenon. Mergers and acquisitions have mainly been studied in the industry.

Budskap i förändring : En studie av internkommunikationen vid Sveriges Lantbruksuniversitet

This thesis tries to explore how different strategies of internal communication are used in actual situations within an organization. Specifically, the purpose is to investigate how the internal communication within the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) has been carried out during their work to change their organizational structure, and, how this can be understood in terms of existing theories for strategic communication. The research questions explored are:What are the chosen strategies used to communicate the changes internally?How can these strategies be understood in terms of existing theories?What are the views of the employees on the communication and what are the relations between their views, the chosen strategies and existing theories?The theoretical ground work chosen is mainly the work by Cornelissen (2008), Dalfelt (2005), Johansson (2011) and Larsson (2008). The method chosen for the empirical part of the study is semi-structured qualitative interviews.

Kommunikation och organisationsengagemang : Om sambandet mellan vertikal samt horisontell kommunikation och organisationsengagemang

Syftet med studien var att ta reda på om det går att predicera medarbetares organisationsengagemang utifrån organisationskommunikation, såväl mellan chef och medarbetare som medarbetare emellan. Detta gjordes genom att 118 medarbetare fick besvara en enkät bestående av delar från Communication Satisfaction Questionnaire (Downs & Adrian, 2004). Studiens huvudresultat visade att organisationskommunikation delvis kunde förklara variansen i organisationsengagemang. Resultaten diskuteras i termer av hur och varför organisationer som har en upplevd god organisationskommunikation, både mellan medarbetare och chefer och medarbetare emellan, skapar ett starkare organisationsengagemang hos sina medarbetare..

Romska kvinnor intersektionalitet och samhällsförändring : en studie av sju romska kvinnor som medverkar i ett integrationsprojekt

Syftet med uppsatsen är att studera unga romska kvinnors identitetsskapande i det senmoderna svenska samhället, utifrån de sociala markörerna; kön, etnicitet och klass. Med uppsatsen vill jag även bidra till att nyansera synen och fördjupa diskussionen om romska kvinnors framtid i Sverige. Min studie utgår från sju romska kvinnor som ingår i ett kooperativt integrationsprojekt som ska leda till möjligheten att få ett arbete. Jag har använt mig av teorier om intersektionalitet, kön, klass och etnicitet, för att kunna studera hur dessa intra-agerar och påverkar varandra då kvinnorna (åter)skapar sina identiteter för att förändra sina positioner i samhället. Jag har också använt mig av fakta för att skapa en förförståelse om romers situation och diskriminering i det svenska samhället.

Fenomenofonen : En undersökning om ljud på webben

Ljud har en förmåga att påverka våra känslor. Begreppet ljudwebb är framtaget till denna undersökning och syftar på de ljudlagda applikationer som, i och med den tekniska utvecklingen, har börjat dyka upp inom webben. Ljudwebben har fått sitt namn från ljudfilmen, de filmer som började experimentera med ljud under filmindustrins tekniska revolution runt 1930-talet. Syftet med denna undersökning är att utforska vad ljudets känslopåverkande egenskaper kan bidra med inom webben. Genom att utgå från fysiker-filosofen Karen Barads tankar om det ständigt rekonstruerande fenomenet samt filosofen Sarah Ahmeds kritik mot den fenomenologiska orienteringen lyder undersökningens frågeställning.

Small business enterprises have escalated in Sweden during the last decade. However, new established companies are struggling to maintain their selves during the startup process and according to a survey from Tillväxtanalys, only 68 % of startup companies from 2008 were still active three years later. One of the main reasons is lack of capital and the most common approach to finance companies is to apply for a bank loan. In other words, commercial banks are of great importance for new businesses. Although, the problem arises when there is no previous history from the new businesses that the bank could base its credit assessment on.

Kontakter på kinesiska : Viktiga faktorer för svenska småföretag vid varuimport från Kina

This paper will answer which factors are important for the business relation between a small Swedish import company and a Chinese contractor. The problem is based partly in theories that points to cultural and organizational differences between Sweden and China, and partly in current examples from Swedish companies. The relevant data has been collected by interviews with three small Swedish companies that are currently using Chinese contractors.The result is that the differences between the countries and organizations exist, but that they do not interfere with the inter-company relations. The conclusion is that our result contradictsthe established theories in the field, and that a more comprehensive investigation is warranted..

Conflict Resolution in West Africa: A Comparative Analysis of Sierra Leone and Liberia

This paper is a Master thesis for the Master?s program in International and European Relations in the Department of Management and Economics at Linköping University. As the title indicates, the aim of this thesis is to make a comparative analysis of the conflict resolution initiatives that were employed in the Sierra Leonean and Liberian conflicts. The research questions are: ? What were the root causes and trajectories of the Sierra Leonean and Liberian conflicts? ? What were the conflict resolution initiatives employed in resolving both conflicts? ? Why did the Lome Peace Accord succeed in the case of Sierra Leone whilst the Abuja Peace Accord failed in bringing peace to Liberia? In order to answer the afore-mentioned questions and fulfil the aim of this paper, a qualitative research method has been chosen.

Organisatoriska och individuella prediktorers samband med organisationssamhörighet

Tre organisatoriska (inflytande, karriärsutveckling, organisationsstorlek) och tre individuella (anställningsotrygghet, utbildningsnivå, anställningstid) variablers samband med organisationssamhörighet undersöktes i studien. Syftet var att utveckla kunskapen kring vad som påverkar organisationssamhörighet på den svenska arbetsmarknaden. Befintliga data (N=2295) i form av svar från telefonintervju samt enkät från yrkesverksamma individer i Sverige mellan 25 och 50 år, varav 51 % män, analyserades. Resultatet visade på signifikant samband för inflytande och karriärsutveckling gentemot organisationssamhörighet, men inte för de övriga variablerna. Förklarad varians för studien var 11 %.

Professionalisering : Föräldrars åsikter om en organisationsförändring av den svenska barnidrotten

The Swedish way to organize sport has a long tradition and the parents play an important role in ways to organize sport. Without the thousands of adults who voluntary work the sport associations would have problems to survive. However, there are tendencies to that commitment is reduced, which means that the activity is exposed. The purpose of this study was to examine parents opinions about a nonprofit children´s sport respective professional children´s sport. The study was based on questionnaires which were distributed to 83 parents in four different sports; equestrian sport, track and field sports, ice hockey and soccer.

Is insourcing qualified human capital from China a future for Sweden?s wealth sustainability?

The Methodology used to gather empirical materials for this thesis has been different types of interviews. The interviews have been mainly unstructured personal interviews directly with our respondents, due to limiting factors some of the interviews have been carried out via phone or email.The theoretical framework consists of literature from well-recognised authors and is divided into four different parts: Insourcing & Outsourcing, Intellectual Capital, Knowledge Management, China & Intercultural understanding. Den nya insatsorganisationen i utlandstjänst

Syftet med denna uppsats är att presentera organisatoriska faktorer inom den nyligen införda insatsorganisationen som utifrån olika perspektiv på organisation och ledarskap, kan påverka svenska officerares motivation till att genomföra utlandstjänst. Uppsatsen hämtar sin huvudsakliga empiri från en genomförd enkätundersökning med officerare yrkesverksamma i Försvarsmakten. Resultatet av undersökningen och i förlängningen analysen av dessa ämnar svara på huruvida den nya insatsorganisationen har någon direkt påverkan på svenska officerares motivation till utlandstjänst, samt om det utifrån fyra olika organisationsperspektiv går att finna aspekter i den nya organisationen som är avgörande för individens tjänstvillighet till internationell tjänst..

Identifiering av det logistiska förpackningssystemet En studie av teleutrustningsindustrin

Background: Due to outsourcing, the material flows in the telecom equipment industry have undergone major changes, which in turn has imposed new challenges for packaging supplier Nefab who delivers to the industry. In order to achieve market intelligence, Nefab wants to map the material flows, and investigate possibilities of further reusable logistical packaging systems.Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to describe the typical features of the logistical material flows in a technically based, rapidly growing industry, and analyze the driving forces and obstacles, which influence the selection of logistical packaging system. Procedure: After developing a theoretical framework consisting of general logistical theories and theories related to logistical packaging, we have interviewed companies in the logistics channel of Ericsson Radio Systems.Results: We have found the main characteristics of material flows in our investigated industry to be Variations in Demand, Focus on Time-to-Customer, and Globalization of Logistics Channels. Regarding driving forces and obstacles in the selection of logistical packaging systems, we have identified Transportation Characteristics, Customer Demands, Quality, Handling & Administration, and Current Packaging System as important factors..
