Referensintervjuer på folkbibliotek: En intervju- och litteraturstudie

This thesis examines the subject of reference Interviews and the ways librarians form an opinion of users information needs. Using literature and Interviews with three librarians I look at the questions below: - Why and when are reference Interviews needed? - What significance do they have? - What ideas exist about the performance of reference Interviews? - Are there any differences in librarians views of the questions above compared to views in the literature? Results from literature studies and Interviews show that reference Interviews can be important when librarians try to find out more about users information needs. However its neither necessary nor possible to analyse all reference questions. Librarians therefore need to determine if a reference Interview is needed or not.

Gruppens betydelse för inlärning

In today?s individualistic society, I experience a need to bring forward the importance of collaboration. From a sociocultural perspective, I have chosen to highlight the positive and negative aspects of collaborative learning, with the intention of illustrating the effects for the individual learning and development. I have therefore made an Interview with an educationalist, who?s been a teacher all her grown up life, with the intent of illustrating her thoughts on collaborative learning.

Journalisters val av källor : En kvalitativ studie av yrkesvardagen

In this study we have investigated how local journalists in Kalmar think when they choose their sources to Interview. We have also studied several factors that can affect their choices of sources. We have Interviewed eight news journalists from the two largest local news papers Barometern and Östran in Kalmar. The journalists were asked about the sources they often use as Interview objects. They were supposed to tell about how they think when choosing sources and define which sources they commonly use. There are different factors that can affect the choices and we have narrowed them down to ethics, source critics, credibility, stress, hard production conditions, public and their own interest and if they consider themselves to be individualistic or controlled by the news desks. Furthermore the journalists were asked to characterize what changes they would make when choosing sources in a perfect world. All of the journalists had not reflected prominently on the subject of sources before our research.

Förväntningar på IUP : Analys av vilka förväntningar lärare, elever och föräldrar har på Individuell utvecklingsplan

AbstractMy purpose of the investigation is to enter deeply into the knowledge of the Individual plan of the development and to examine how teachers, pupils and parents look at the Individual plan of the development and the purpose of the Individual plan of the development in school. My question of the main problem in this investigation was to examine the expectation on the Individual plan of the development from teachers, pupils and parents and if the Individual plan of the development has been influence the cooperation of parents and the influence of the pupils also how and if teachers, pupils and parents apprehend some kinds of changes. The review of the literature begin with a closer study about our document of control, witch are the curriculum of the compulsory school (Lpo 94), The National Agency for Education General Advice for the Individual plan of the development (2005), a study of the development of the cooperation of the parents and the influence of the pupils under the years of research about it.I have in my investigation used qualitative Interview in different forms like the ordinary Interview, Interview on telephone and focussed group Interview with teachers, pupils and parents. The result of my conclusion from the investigation is that the information and the knowledge of the Individual plan of the development are important to be able to increase the influence from the pupils and a different cooperation from the parents in the development of the school with the Individual plan of the development. My examination is small and not generalised but I believe that it still can represent the attitude of the Individual plan of the development. The consequence of the investigation shows that pupils and parents have vague idea of the Individual plan of the development.

Participants of the present study were 30 individuals randomly selected from the larger study. Of these, 16 individuals were premature born and 14 individuals were full-term born.

Träning av sydafrikansk pälssäl och afrikansk stäppelefant på djurpark - skillnader och likheter

Training of zoo animals started when the first zoo opened in 1752. The difference between then and now is that from the beginning the zookeepers did not focus so much on animal welfare. Nowadays animal welfare is the most important thing in the training. Therefore, the zookeepers are training the animals mainly for veterinary purposes and activation. The training makes the animals less stresses during handling. When the zookeepers started to train elephants they used unpleasant stimuli such as a whip when the elephant did something wrong.

Kulturers påverkan på förhandlingar

In this thesis, I discuss the impact Swedish national culture may have on Swedish diplomats. This is a qualitative study and I have used theories from studies of international negotiations to compare the oppositional results of those scientists with my Interview material. With the help of my Interview material from seven Swedish diplomats and five foreign diplomats I have compared their perceptions of Swedish culture, Swedish diplomats and their thoughts about the existence of an international diplomatic culture with well known sceientists of international negotiations. My main question is whether there is an international diplomatic subculture, without any national impact, or not. The mission is to base the thesis with earlier science and then compare and contrast with my Interview material.

Stenhuggaren på Korpåsberget : vilken bild förmedlas av stenhuggarens liv och arbete på Korpåsberget?

My essay aims to explore, "What image is conveyed by the stone mason's life and work on Korpåsberget". In my essay I have been working with respondent Interviews to examine the purpose. I've been trying to get Interviewees to talk freely, but have also had a number of indicative questions for support. In order to process and understand the Interviews, I also have a part in the essay aiming to provide background information to the stone industry in Bohuslän, an area along the westcoast in Sweden, and foremost in the area of Bovallstrand. The text discusses the stone industry's development in the area, its development and the time until the stone industry at large was closed. As for the stone industry in Bovallstrand I have chosen to focus on the largest quarry in society, namely the Korpåsberget. The background text also briefly covers stonecutter?s lives and work.

Strukturerad- kontra beteendeintervju : Skillnad i mängd och kvalitet på den information som erhålls vid anställningsintervjuer

According to Barclay (2001), behavioral Interviews yield higher quality information, than other Interview techniques. This study focused on whether the quality and quantity of information differ between structured Interview and behavioral Interviewing. Two headhunters held 16 job Interviews with the two techniques, 9 behavioral Interviews and 7 structured Interviews. Both headhunters and candidates have evaluated the Interviews quantitatively. Initial and concluding Interviews have, as well, been held with the headhunters.  No definitive answers were found in the quantitative analysis, but the qualitative results suggest that behavioral Interviews give, because of the headhunters opinions, more and higher quality information.

Mobbning i förskolan : En studie om förskolepedagogers definitioner av begreppet mobbning

Bullying is something that is often times talked about in relation to school, in spite of that it's still something that is a very common problem. It is also rarely ever clearly defined, and is subject to a heap of different definitions. In order to prevent something, we must first understand it, and therefore define it. With that the purpose of this study is to examine swedish preschool-teachers definitions of bullying. How do they define bullying? Do their definitions differ from one another? The investigation was qualitative and used qualitative Interview methods to Interview four pre-school teachers about their deifnitions of bullying.

Köpbeteendet av impulsvaror inom partihandeln

Purpose: The study aims to increase knowledge of dealers' purchasing behavior of impulse goods in wholesale trade.Methodology: An exploratory survey method has been selected in order to investigate the relatively unexplored topic; buyer behavior of impulse goods in the wholesale. Data has been collected through Interview of 27 dealers that conduct business with bulk confectionery sales across Sweden. A semi-structured Interview technique has been selected, with a predetermined Interview schedule but with space for follow-up questions and discussion. Conclusion: The background to this work argued that there is not much research on how retailers reasons when buying convenience products, or also called as impulse items. It is usually the sale of goods such as several of the informants believe is critical to their business existence. Impulse goods which do not require any effort, has little search time and usually are cheap and suits many customers pockets.

Kommunikationen mellan barn och bibliotekarie ? jämförelse mellan referenssamtal på fysiska och virtuella bibliotek.

Focus has been on finding out what children ask about and how they are asking in virtual reference Interviews and in ordinary reference Interviews, what type of information needs the children have. The study also focuses on which barriers there can be in reference Interviews.

Kartläggning av informationsbehov

This report is the result of a thesis carried out during the spring of 2010 at Sandvik Coromant in Gimo. The purpose of this thesis has been to make an inventory and mapping of information used by flow groups that are most relevant for the day-to-day work. This mapping will then form the basis for information supplied by an automated system. The project consisted of:Identifying how the information is supplied today.Inquiring into the needs of an automated system.Which needs of information that will be provided by the system.Data collection occurred in two ways, both through observations and Interviews. Observations of the participants were carried out early in the thesis, where the aim was to create a picture of the problem, and gradually develop a basis for the actual Interview study. At each observation, an unstructured observation was used, which means that all activity was recorded.

Mellan Bröst och Rumpor : En Kvalitativ Studie av The Playboy Interview

Playboy is a magazine that, for more than a half century, has been mostly known to the wider audience for its stylized pictures of naked women. What a lot of people do not know is that the magazine, with its editor in chief Hugh Hefner in the lead, has been frontrunners in human rights. Playboy has been fighting protecting the right of freedom of speech, fighting for equal rights for all people during the civil rights movement and supported the feminist movement by funding precedent cases on abortion rights. According to a series of text analyses by Beggan & Allison (2000, 2002b) Playboy?s editorial direction contradicted conventional definitions of masculinity. Also, the magazine portrayed its Playmates with complex identities that, in many cases, contained a number of traditionally masculine abilities. In this thesis we have done a critical discourse analysis of the Playboy Interview and how the gender of its subject is portrayed by the magazine.
