In this essay I evaluate the legality of Karl Popper?s criticism against psychoanalysis, regarding this theory of Freud?s being pseudoscientific. Popper?s criticism is based on his theory of demarcation in which he states that an empirical theory must be possible to test by observations in order to be, as most important is, hypothetically possible to falsify based on other empirical statements ? often in the form of new found facts that contradict the original statement/theory. In purpose of assessing Popper?s criticism I perform a modified idea analysis, based on a book by Evert Vedung (1977).

The global Positioning System (GPS) provides location and time information as long as there are unobstructed lines of sight to four or more GPS satellites. However, when this is not the case the signal may be inaccurate or sometimes even completely blocked. In these situations the Inertial Navigation System (INS) is an appropriate choice for positioning.  An INS has already been proposed in a previous thesis by Erik Andersson and the objective of this thesis is to fuse the GPS with the INS in a proper way. A part of this project is to decide the reliability of the GPS.Three methods for GPS reliability detection have been proposed. One method based on the statistical properties of each of the separate systems, and two methods based on the statistical properties of the residuals between the GPS and INS.

Dagens dynamiska situation på marknaden sätter spår på den befintliga marknadsfilosofin med fokus på kommunikationen mellan företaget och konsumenten. Den moderna teknologin och Internet har utvecklats och blivit mer tillgängliga, vilket har bidragit till att den moderna konsumenten tillbringar en stor del av sin tid på Internet. De digitala nätverken och kommu-nikationen inom dem förändrar konsumentbeteenden och attityder, främjar konsumenters självständighet samt ger kontroll över köpbesluten. De här trenderna påverkar dagens detalj-handel, där konkurrensen och kampen om kundernas lojalitet ökar. Konventionella marknads-föringsstrategier föråldras snabbt under dagens förlopp och kräver mer kreativitet och enga-gemang av företaget.

Med internet som verktyg kan vi kommunicera med människor trots stora avstånd och trots att vi inte möts ansikte mot ansikte. Många nätanvändare väljer att vara anonyma gentemot varandra på nätet, på grund av försiktighet. Andra väljer att efter hand avslöja sin identitet för nätvännerna och så småningom ta med sig nätrelationen in i vardagslivet utanför internet. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka och förklara hur nätanvändare upplever anonymitet och att inte synas för varandra.För nätanvändare kan anonymiteten innebära en möjlighet att befria sig från det sociala livets krav och visa mer av sitt rätta jag inför nätvännerna, eftersom det på nätet är möjligt att hitta likasinnade och andra som accepterar mig som jag är, oavsett vem jag är. Anonymiteten kan också innebära att nätanvändaren av försiktighet avstår från djupare relationer på nätet.

The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the combination of bibliographic coupling and three hierarchical cluster analytic techniques: average, complete and single linkage. Bibliographic coupling is applied as a measure of similarity between recently published articles and the cluster techniques are used for the partition of a set of articles into subsets of articles with similar research focus. The field of information science is applied as the test arena and the selection of data, i.e., the article population to be partitioned, is based on a number of central journals. Methods of evaluation include both quantitative approaches as well as a qualitative one. For comparing the resulting partitions, adjusted Rand index is utilized and for the establishment of cluster coherence and isolation, measures of average normalized coupling strength is applied.

Syftet med undersökningen var att ta reda på hur webbplatsen Newsmill påverkat det svenska debattklimatet på internet. Studien har genomförts genom att intervjua personer verksamma inom media. Bakgrunden till denna undersökning har varit att internet alltmer intagit den roll papperstidningarna förut hade. Numera är det i debattforum på nätet de offentliga samtalen äger rum. Intervjuerna har genomförts med fyra personer med nära anknytning till den sortens publicistik som bedrivs av Newsmill.

This paper deals primarily with the developmental potential and use of court -based mediation in Swedish law, and its relation to court-based conciliation and the judicial procedure as means to end a conflict.  In Chapter 42, Section 17 of the Swedish Code of Judicial Procedure, a judge, before the parties have their main hearing, can act as a mediator between the parties to settle the dispute. The judge should, according to the law, always try to make the parties come to an agreement before the main hearing. This obligation can be fulfilled either through the use of court-based conciliation, or court based mediation. Mediation as such is rarely used in Sweden, and one of the goals of this essay is to try to provide a tentative answer to why that might be the case.  The second goal is to try to find a consistent, yet flexible notion, of the concept of ?jurisdiction?, and to provide an explanation for the relation between mediation as an alternative method for dispute resolution and the judicial procedure.                                                                                                                                            .

Storleken på informationsmängderna i vad som finns tillgänglig på Internet idag gör att söktjänster närmast är en nödvändighet för informationsökning. Ibland kan det upplevas att det är svårt att hitta begärd information hos söktjänster utan att få fram en mängd oönskade sidor, så att man måste hitta relevant information bland dem och filtrera bort irrelevant information. Ett problem för många söktjänster är hur de ska kunna ta hänsyn till användarnas individuella informationsbehov och därigenom skapa förutsättningar för effektivare sökprocesser. Denna magisteruppsats handlar om användarnas upplevelser av informationssökning på Internet. Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka den problematik som finns när man söker information med hjälp av söktjänster på webben, användarnas syn på olika söktjänster och att även få fram förbättringsförslag.

This paper aims to study the possibilities and challenges the car industry has to face with applying information technology in cars. The goal is to describe and analyse all the existing technology in the cars out on the market today as well as future possible technologies in cars. By interviewing people who has been working or are working with information technology in cars, we aim to clarify the obstacles and opportunities in the process of implementing informatics in cars. With this knowledge we want to learn more about Ubiquitous computing and how humans interact with Ubiquitous computers today and will be interacting in the future. Technology has a rapid development pace and we find it interesting to examine how the car industry can keep up with the rapid development pace of technology. .

Internetanvändandet har förändrats och allt yngre personer brukar internet. I dags- och kvällstidningar går det att läsa om barn och ungdomar som utsatts för diverse övergrepp som kan kopplas till internetkontakter. En stor riskgrupp är flickor i de nedre tonåren delvis på grund av intresset för kommunikation och sociala nätverk, samtidigt som internet är en viktig del i skolarbete och annat kunskapsinhämtande. Ofta vet inte föräldrar vad ungdomar gör på internet och det kan vara svårt att ha kontroll då tillgängligheten är stor i och med smarta telefoner och surfplattor. Med utgångspunkt i detta lades studiens fokus på föräldrarnas perspektiv på ålder och mognad, känslan av kontroll samt tankar kring risk kontra nytta med internetanvändningen.

Nu för tiden blir det fler och fler människor som använder sig av elektronisk handel. Detta examensarbete behandlar den elektroniska handeln mellan företag som har privatpersoner som främsta konsument. Frågan är om det är många konsumenter som läser igenom och bryr sig om företagens köpvillkor. Antagligen antar konsumenterna att det är samma regler som gäller som vid vanliga köp ute i butiker, men det är det inte. Det som undersökts är vad de olika företagen har för köpvillkor på sina hemsidor på Internet och om de har skrivit allt relevant som konsumenten bör veta innan inköpet görs på Internet.

This master thesis examines online reading groups with swedish participants. The aim is, by way of introduction, to investigate what kind of online reading groups that exist and how they work. The overall question of the thesis is: how do a conversation about books on the Internet look like? The theory used is Grounded Theory and this is a methodology which has influenced the hole structure of the study. Grounded Theory apply that issues and hypothesis must be created from the collected material, and the author collected for this reason material in the form of survey answers, email-conversations, blogmaterial and articles to draw up exact issues based on this material.The material was sorted into four different categories; social reading, reading fellowship, virtual freedom and anonymity and the issues were formulated according to this categories.
