Integration policies have failed to make diversity into anything more than occupying the same physical space. People of different cultural background still do not share their lives to any real extent. Attempts made within planning and landscape architecture to catalyst the integration process have mainly been focused on structural measures, such as residential policies. As for outdoor environments, non-verbal casual encounters in the shape of crossing paths are assumed to lie at the heart of urban social integration.The aim of the thesis is to question this assumption and, as the thesis will show, there is literature supporting this aim. Looking at the works of Gordon Allport, Lewis Coser and some of their followers, I find intercultural contact to require more complex ways of interaction in order to reduce prejudice and to generate tolerance and understanding.

Syftet med studien är att undersöka vad som upplevs som förutsättningarna för intern kommunikation uppåt i en organisation, från medarbetare till närmsta chef, samt på vilka olika sätt medarbetarna själva kommunicerar med sin chef.  I studien söks svaren på frågeställningarna; Hur ser förutsättningarna ut för kommunikation från medarbetare till chef? Vilka kanaler använder medarbetarna för att kommunicera till chefen? En kvalitativ metod har används, där det empiriska materialet samlats in med hjälp av sex stycken semistrukturerade intervjuer. Genom arbetsprocessen har en hermeneutisk tolkning gjorts av empirin. Resultatet visar på att en liten organisation, samt en lyhörd och synlig chef, är förutsättningar för en god intern kommunikation, från medarbetare till närmsta chef. Kommunikationskanaler som används för en kommunikation till chefen är bland annat mejl, möten, personliga samtal och medarbetarsamtal..

Integration är ett komplext begrepp som kan ses utifrån flera perspektiv och synvinklar. Dramapedagogik emellertid utgår från olika typer av värdeord baserade i en gemensam värdegrund. Centrala begrepp i detta är demokrati, acceptens och alla människors lika värde. Syftet med uppsatsen är att kartlägga, systematisera och problematisera forskning om hur drama kan användas, eller har använts i integrationssyfte. Hur ser dialogen ut inom forskningsfältet drama och integration? Vad säger det om dramapedagogikens betydelse i integrationsprocesser? Kan man urskilja några teman och i så fall vilka?Som metod används en litteraturstudie med en kvalitativ ansats som vilar på utvalda begrepp som ingår i en integrationsprocess.Resultatet visar fyra olika kategorier där drama används som metod i integrationsprocesser.

Syfte med denna studie är att fördjupa förståelsen hur personer med utländsk härkomst, som kommer till Sverige i vuxen ålder upplever sin situation kopplat till integration i det nya landet. En annan aspekt som berörs är svenska integrationspolitiken och dess koppling till immigranternas tankar. Den metod som används är kvalitativ. I den insamlade materialet ingår tio intervjuer, vardera fem av varje kön. Dessa individer har varit bosatta i Sverige mellan tio och femton år.

This paper examines whether membership in the European Union has contributed to democratic stability and integration in an ethnic diverse society. By studying the Latvian multicultural society, before and after membership in the EU, the author is looking for evidence of enhanced ethnic stability in the country brought through European integration. The author will analyze what the consequences have been, by adopting European regional policy, for a country that yet has to create a unified national identity. By analyzing different areas of the Latvian society, the author has concluded that the EU has played a small but yet not insignificant role for the Latvian domestic integration process..

Uppsatsen syftade till att undersöka den interna marknadsföringen (IM) inom Ernst & Young genom att identifiera de IM-aktiviteter som genomförs inom företaget för att motivera sina anställda. IM har operationaliserats som intern marknadsorientering (IMO) enligt Lings och Greenleys (2005) IMO-modell. Modellen består av fem beteendedimensioner med tillhörande aktiviteter.  IMO inom Ernst & Young (avgränsat till huvudkontoret i Stockholm) och framförallt aktiviteterna som typifierar beteendedimensionerna har undersökts i en kvalitativ fallstudie med deduktiv ansats. Datainsamlingen har genomförts med hjälp av semistrukturerade intervjuer och telefonenkäter med HR- och marknads- och informationsansvariga samt genom instudering av sekundärdata. Resultatet från datainsamlingen i en jämförelse med den teoretiska plattformen visade på att Ernst & Young i stor utsträckning har en IMO då företaget genomför beteendedimensionernas typifierade aktiviteter.

The purpose of this essay is to illustrate immigrants? and refugees? thoughts and experiences of the process of integrating into Swedish society and to examine which social networks foster the process. The main questions in the study are: * What experiences enable refugees and immigrants to become integrated and fully participating members of the Swedish society?* What is the importance of the social networks with regards to integration into Swedish society? A qualitative method was used and five interviews were completed with SFI (Swedish for immigrants) students. The study shows that knowledge of Swedish language promotes an initiative in contacting native Swedes, and it also determines the success of integration.

This paper analyzes governance of cultural and ethnic integration. The study has a comparative perspective between five municipalities in Skåne. One aim in this thesis is to clearify the ratio between the state and municipal authority and how municipalities exercise their autonomy. I analyze the advantages and disadvantages in different governance methods linked to how the municipalities are working in practice and what problem the integration policy is intended to eliminate. I also resolve the influence of officials and citizens in the policy process.My conclusion is that direct ruling to a large extent is limited by indirect control.

Intern kontroll är ett begrepp som fått ökad aktualitet i spåren av olika finansiella skandaler i privat och offentlig sektor. I offentliga organisationer har nya driftsformer samt ökade krav på kostnadseffektivitet också bidragit till ett ökat fokus på intern kontroll. Intern kontroll i kommunala verksamheter, såsom ett landsting, är reglerad av lagar. I kommunallagen fastslås att styrelsen i kommun eller landsting har det övergripande ansvaret för att se till att det finns en god intern kontroll. Syftet i denna uppsats är att undersöka olika aktörers perspektiv på den interna kontrollen ett landsting.

Intern kommunikation är ett av verktygen för att förmedla strategier inom organisationer och företag. Att finna ett gemensamt språk inom organisationen kan underlätta förståelsen för företagets visioner och mål. Vårt syfte med undersökningen är att öka kunskap och förståelse samt skapa insikt kring ledningsarbete med intern kommunikation särskilt i samband med en expansiv fas. Vårt mål är att finna beskrivningar för hur ett företag i en expansiv fas kan arbeta med intern kommunikation. Vi har utfört en fallstudie av ett företag inom vård- och omsorgssektorn.

A new curriculum, Lgr11, was introduced in Sweden during the Autumn Semester 2011. My aim in this paper is to investigate whether an integrated and interdisciplinary approach is possible within this new Swedish curriculum.Firstly, I will describe the approach to integration and interdisciplinary work used in the new Swedish curriculum. Secondly, I will analyze whether the curriculum allows for an integrated and interdisciplinary work.The method used in this paper is a qualitative textual analysis and analyzing the new curriculum´s approach to integration and interdisciplinary education has been the focus. The analysis has been based on the explicit and implicit basics of integration and interdisciplinary work in the curriculum.I assume theories of subject integration and curricula to come up with my results in the paper.To conclude, the results of my analysis of the curriculum show that an integrated and interdisciplinary approach is not only possible, but it is also each school Principal's responsibility as well as part of each teacher`s objective. The Principal's responsibility is to ensure that the integration and interdisciplinary approach is undertaken in school. The curriculum is clear that teachers should let their students work interdisciplinary as well as vary their methods of teaching.

 This work is a study, conducted by interviews, of how teachers evaluate the concepts of inclusion and integration. The aim of this work is to obtain views on the possible differences between teachers' own definitions and the previous research definitions. The earlier published research which was read during this work, together with the three interviews which were conducted is the basis for the study. I've done three interviews in which two of the people interviewed are active teachers and the third who works as an assistant headmaster at a school located in a suburb of Stockholm. The interviewed teachers have been working for different periods in the school which gave me the opportunity to highlight differences between teachers definitions depending upon the experience they had.

A logical cause of migration is of course immigrants which is a topic always creating discussions. When arriving in a new country a process of integration with the goal to adapt to the environment is started. This study will explore the need for integration and seeks to examine the connection between population composition and radical right opinions.To fulfill the aim, a multivariate regression analysis is done on aggregated level in Sweden with statistics concerning the year of 2010. The relation between ethnic composition and voters support for the Swedish radical right party Sverigedemokraterna is studied as well as integration as an explanatory intermediate factor operationalized through unemployment, financial assistance and trust.The results of the study indicate a positive connection between immigrants from EU/EFTA and the voter support for Sverigedemokraterna. A negative relation is identified between trust and the voter support for Sverigedemokraterna.

The purpose of my essay is to see how teachers are working to integrate the two subjects Art and Swedish in their teaching, and to see how this integration is made. What do teachers think about subject-integration? What are the positive effects of it? Are there any difficulties involved? Do the teachers prioritize cooperation with other subjects?To answer my questions I have interviewed eight teachers, four of them in upper secondary school and four in lower secondary school. I have also studied literature about subject-integration and children?s learning, curriculum?s and syllabi in the subjects of Art and Swedish.The results of my study show that the interviewed teachers are positive when it comes to integrating Art and Swedish and other subjects.
