Studien är baserad på en tvärsnittsdesign och som metod har en enkätundersökning utförts. Studiedeltagarna som deltog i enkäten är 150 personer varav 121 är kvinnor. Deltagarna i undersökningen hade utövat dieten olika länge, alltifrån 3 veckor upp till mer än 6 månader.

This essay, called Motivation and reading comprehension, is a study of the correlation between the motivation to read and the reading comprehension of Swedish students in their final year of school before university level, meaning that they are eighteen or nineteen years old, sometimes more.The relation between the identity of the individual and the learning process has been a matter of scientific interest for some time, and this essay works in that tradition by investigating the connection between how pupils regard reading and how well developed their ability to decode text is.The reading comprehension is measured through a test that consists of a text from the Swedish epic by Vilhelm Moberg, Invandrarna, where the reader at certain intervals throughout the text is asked to mark the correct word from a choice of three. This test has been used and evaluated extensively by Per Fröjd, who has found that the results are reliable and useful.To measure the motivation to read I?ve constructed a survey to be answered before taking the reading test. It focuses on three different parts of reading motivation that are noted as the most important ones by Ivar Bråten. These are the feeling of joy and interest for reading, the goal to acquire knowledge of a specific subject, and the expectations that you have on yourself as a reader.Results show a weak or non-existent correlation between the two factors for the whole of the subjects, but once those who have a first language other than Swedish are removed the correlation becomes significant.

This is a qualitative interview study of the importance of the non-verbal communication related to the reference situation at public libraries. The experiences of both librarians and users of the reference service have been explored with regards to non-verbal communication. Eight interviews have been carried out. The results reveal that the users and librarians consider that it is important that the librarian find eye contact as well as give affirmation through nodding and smiling. To demonstrate interest and involvement in the questions through attentive listening is also of great value.

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att ta reda på hur information och undervisning kan utformas och vara ett bra sätt att förbättra den hälsorelaterade livskvaliteten hos patienter med hjärtsvikt. Femton vetenskapliga artiklar valdes ut genom fulltextdatabasen United States National Library of Medicine (MEDLINE) och Högskolan Dalarnas sökmotor Electronic Library Information Navigator (ELIN). Sökorden som användes var heart failure, quality of life, information/education och nursing i olika kombinationer. Artiklarna som valdes ut granskades med hjälp av modifierade granskningsmallar för att säkerställa att dom var av så hög kvalite som möjligt. Fysisk funktionell förmåga och kunskap om sjukdomen har betydelse för patientens upplevelse av sin hälsorelaterade livskvalitet.

This investigation indicates that there are regions within Europe that seems to have similar preferences and priorities regarding pike angling travels to Sweden. Swedish pike angling facilities process in first hand markets with favourable economic circumstances and a cultural interest for pike angling. There was a big differences in features between the Northern, Western, Eastern and Southern regions of Europe. They also seems to be tied to specific regions within some of the nations.The regions have diverse requirements and distinguish in terms of consumption and preferences regarding different aspects of pike angling. From there it is possible to divide pike angling tourists into segments.

In today?s genetic evaluation of Swedish beef cattle, mainly traits that are directly related to productivity are measured. However, other traits, such as temperament and mature cow weight affect the economy of the farmer, as well as the welfare of the animals. This thesis evaluates possible ways of measuring new traits, with focus on temperament and mature weight of suckler cows. The goal is to examine the possible benefits of including these traits in the Swedish breeding scheme.

Övervikt och fetma är ett problem i västvärlden idag och inverkar på hälsa och välbefinnande. Fetma är en svårbehandlad sjukdom och är en problematisk biverkan vid användning av antipsykotiska läkemedel; förebyggande åtgärder är särskilt viktiga. Sjuksköterskan har, med sin holistiskt biopsykosociala expertis och sin regelbundna direktkontakt med patienter, en unik möjlighet att genom sina observationer samordna och planera interventioner för att förhindra viktuppgång. Sjuksköterskan fungerar som rollmodell för en hälsosam livsstil där rådgivning, stöttning och utbildning ingår. Syftet var att beskriva interventioner för att reducera viktuppgång hos personer som behandlas med antipsykotika.

The study will examine how teachers relate to religious studies for middle school students. Religious studies are the oldest but also the most contested subject undergoing the most changes over time. The subject is far from being obvious. Politicians and people within the school community disagree about the subject?s content and its name, some within the school system but also politicians like to call it topic of life studies or belief studies, while others want to keep the name religion studies.

Resandet mellan länder ökar allt mer och många resor går från rikare till fattigare länder i tropiska och subtropiska områden. De resande möter ett annat panorama av sjukdomar än i hemlandet och det vanligaste hälsoproblemet bland resenärer är turistdiarré. Inför resan söker många råd på en vaccinationsmottagning. Råd ges bland annat kring kost och vaccin för att förhindra turistdiarré. Syftet med studien var att undersöka det vetenskapliga underlaget för att sjuksköterskor skall kunna ge evidensbaserade råd kring kosthållning och vaccination för att undvika turistdiarré.

Inom vården möter sjuksköterskan många olika människor med dolda sjukdomar. En av dem är celiaki, även kallad glutenintolerans, som är en kronisk, inflammatorisk tarmsjukdom. Celiaki kan drabba både barn och vuxna. Sjukdomen är genetiskt betingad och beror på överkänslighet mot proteinet gluten som finns i sädesslag, men orsaken till sjukdomen är ännu okänd. Idag finns inget läkemedel som botar sjukdomen, utan det är maten som är medicinen.

The purpose of this study was to gain a deeper understanding of teacher´s motives to engage in outdoor education in their teaching. A qualitative approach through interviews was used and a total of eight teachers were interviewed. The result showed that there were several motives to engage in outdoor education. These motives were divided into three main categories which were: to engage in outdoor education from teacher`s interest, to engage in outdoor education based on teacher`s perceptions of children's needs and to engage in outdoor education based on external factors..

The purpose of this thesis is to examine how power structures concerning gender and sexuality emerge through the use of language in the Swedish reality show Paradise Hotel. Of particular interest is the representation of heterosexual relations in the show. Because of its interest in the relationship between power, gender and sexuality, the thesis is based on theories from gender and discourse studies. The specific theories referred to are Michel Foucault?s understanding of power, stereotypes according to Stuart Hall, Yvonne Hirdman?s gender system and contract theory, Judith Butler?s heterosexual matrix and R.W.

Today produces the wind power 2,5 TWh (TWh = terawatt hours) of Sweden?s total energy input of around 620 TWh. Introduction: Our lifestyle habits affect our health and unhealthy habits are a contributing factor to disease. Health care is an arena that should work with health promotion. MI (motivational interviewing) is a method used in various forms of care to work with lifestyle. Aim: To map methods with intention to be used in Swedish primary care, to work with the lifestyle habits diet, physical activity, alcohol and tobacco. Method: This is a literature based study.
