Social work in Sweden has historically been mostly done by the public sector andthe work has been regulated by law. In the last two decades, private and voluntaryactors have played an important role as providers of welfare state; one of theseplayers is the Swedish Church. The aim of this thesis has been to describe thework the deacons perform in the Swedish Church in a medium-sized municipalityin Sweden. To find out how much freedom of action the deacons themselves feelthat they have and if they feel that their work is influenced by the social work thatother performers are doing. In order to reach the goal, a qualitative approach wasused where seven deacons were interviewed.
Påverkas CSR-verksamheten av affärsmässiga intressen?
Kunder i dagens konkurrenstäta samhälle kräver mer eller mindre att företag tar ett ansvar gentemot samhället. Ansvarstagande av denna typ kallas, internationellt, för Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). En entydig definition saknas, men övergripande talas det om att företag tar ekonomiskt, socialt, etiskt och miljömässigt ansvar. Genom att arbeta med denna typ av verksamhet visar företag att de verkar för kundernas intresse. Debatter pågår dock om företag gör detta för att stå sig i konkurrensen eller för att de verkligen eftersträvar ett hållbart samhälle.
Simulerad trafik till VTIs körsimulator
En körsimulator är en modellkonstruktion som ska efterlikna ett verkligt fordon. Den körsimulator som finns vid Statens väg- och transportforskningsinstitut, VTI, bygger på en riktig fordonskaross och ett avancerat rörelsesystem. Omgivningen simuleras och visas för föraren på tre skärmar. I dagsläget finns ingen modell för generering och simulering av trafik till VTIs körsimulator. Syftet med detta examensarbete var att ta fram en sådan modell.En del av examensarbetet var att undersöka förekomsten av modeller för generering och simulering av trafik till körsimulatorer i världen.

Eriksson and other authors in School ? an arena for bullying (2002) refer to the professor and psychologist Dan Olweus, who points out that bullying can develop serious consequences for the bullied one.

This paper aims to explore the relationship between financial risk and ESG scores in order to assist investors in making investment decisions. We investigate the hypothesis that there is a relationship between the ESG score of a company, and the financial risk in terms of volatility in the relevant company?s share price. The paper is grounded in sustainability reporting and financial risk. With the world facing significant changes and natural disasters, there is an urgent need for action to mitigate environmental impacts to avoid devastating consequences.
En ständig balansgång : En komparativ studie kring jämställdhetsarbete på en manligt dominerad respektive en kvinnligt dominerad arbetsplats
This study, entitled A constant balance ? Gender equality work in an organisation dominated by women and an organisation dominated by men focuses on attitudes towards gender equality issues in two organisations ? one that is dominated by women and one that is dominated by men. The study is based on the Doing gender theory, which primarily means that gender is something people do, it is constantly changing and it depends on the surrounding context.The organisations in the study are both working with gender equality issues, but the attitudes towards gender equality work are ambiguous. The primary gender equality issue in both organisations is to increase the number of employees of the non-dominant gender. The gender equality work in both organisations is formally supported but it is also being met with informal resistance.
Utvärdering av laststyrning av fjärrvärme hos Umeå Energi AB
På intiativ av Umeå Energi AB (UEAB) har det under våren 2011 pågått arbete med att införa, testa och utvärdera Laststyrning av fjärrvärme. Systemet har testats på Bostaden Umeå AB:s (BUAB) lägenhetkomplex på Liljansberget i Umeå. Området stod klart 2008 och inkluderar 709 stycken lägenheter i varierande storlek. Laststyrning som systemet minskar under perioder energitillförseln genom fjärrvärmecentralen för att på så sätt minska totala energitillförseln in till bostadshusen. Det är viktigt att inomhusklimatet inte försämras och därför utförs mätningar och beräkningar på husen samt fjärrvärmecentralerna.

The study deals with the causes of unjustified differences in pay between women and men in the banking sector. The purpose of this paper has been to examine how a gender project implemented in the private banking organizations from a gender-and implementation perspective. The aim of the project examined is to even unjustified differences in pay between men and women in the banking and finance sector. The main issues are: ? How has the project been implemented and what are the real and perceived results? ? How can the opportunities and barriers to successful implementation course with emphasis on gender? The method used is a qualitative study, where the empirical material consisted of focus group interviews.
Relationen mellan Budget och Balanced Scorecard - Modellernas roll vad gäller strategiimplementering
Vad gäller relationen mellan budget och Balanced Scorecard har fyra dimensioner utkristalliserats. Dessa är den sekventiella-, kompletterande-, dominerande- och strategiska dimensionen. I stort kontrasterar WM-data Utilities och Lunds Energi företaget Alfa Laval i förhållande till relationen. I alla tre företagen kan observeras att både budget och Balanced Scorecard fungerar vad gäller strategiimplementering. Budgetens roll vad gäller strategiimplementering försvagas då modellen i huvudsak endast berör medarbetare i centrala positioner inom företagen.

Kunskap och organisatoriskt lärande inom Apoteket AB
This paper aims to provide a description of how knowledge can occur in Apoteket AB, anorganization that is operating on the Swedish pharmacy market. The purpose of this paper isalso to describe how the organizational learning occurs in the organization, and how theoutcome of this learning can be stored in the organizational memory. This subject is ofinterest since Apoteket AB experience changes in their external environment in that they nolonger have monopoly to sell pharmaceuticals on the Swedish pharmacy market. Earlierresearch claims that organizations need to develop new knowledge in order to take action, andthis development needs to be supported by the management within the organization.The collection of primary data was done by two qualitative interviews with employees withinthe organization of Apoteket AB.Our conclusions are that knowledge can occur in many forms, such as tacit and explicitknowledge. The vast majority of the knowledge within the organization is the information thatcan be found in the electronic database Aponet within Apoteket AB, and that is useful for theemployees in their daily work, and therefore is known as explicit knowledge.

The overarching aim of this essay is to analyze, from a feminist point of view, the moral responsibility for the structural oppression of women. In this discussion I focus on the issue of moral responsibility for sexual violence against women, such as rapes. I claim that a feminist theory of moral responsibility has to be based on a collectivist approach. I argue that men should be considered as collective moral responsible for the structural oppression of women. However, it is important that we analyze the interaction between actor and structure.

The development of technology and the mechanization in the Swedish forestry has during the last 60 years resulted in depopulation of the country side and due to that the amount of distance forest owners has increased. Therefore the forest companies need to make some adjustments in order to keep the distance forest owners as customers and to attract new ones. The purpose of this essay was to examine and analyze the distance forest owners satisfaction with Södras service offering and quality of service and further develop some proposals for action. A web-based survey was sent out to 634 distance forests owners in Stockholm, Sweden, all members of Södra. 269 respondents participated in the survey and of them, 27 did also participate in a follow-up telephone interview.

The calcium homeostasis in the body is normally strict regulated to be kept within very narrow limits. This regulation is due to the action of parathyroid hormone (PTH) which is synthesized in the chief cells of the parathyroid glands. In different diseases, the calcium homeostasis is disturbed and this could either be due to a dysfunction of the parathyroid gland itself, or it could have a completely different explanation. To investigate disturbed calciumhomeostasis, ionized calcium and PTH can be analyzed from a blood sample. There are a lot of different assays to measure PTH in humans.

Most of my 16 students show a negative attitude towards mathematics and have difficulty understanding why they need mathematics to work as cooks. Their lack of knowledge has a negative effect on their work in the kitchen because they cannot master relatively simple mathematical solutions. The purpose of this study is to examine if an integrated working method of the subjects mathematics and cooking can change students? attitude towards mathematics and increase their understanding of the value of it in restaurant work. An integrated working method means to integrate the core subjects with programme specific subjects and that teaching is directed towards the main features of the vocational programme in order to create a holistic view.A theory of action research has been applied in this study, aiming to change something perceived as problematic through combining theory and practice in the cooking subject.
