Emhart Glass is the world?s leading manufacturer of equipment, controls and components to the glass container industry. The goal of this project has been to identify improvements and propose cost saving solutions when moving one of Emhart Glass work cells in Sundsvall. The changes shall result in improved work environment and increased product quality. The method contains value stream mapping, concept selection and P-FMEA and complies with Emhart Glass goal to become a more Lean focused business.

This master´s thesis in Library and Information Science examines the experiences of children who read to a dog. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the interactions between the librarian, the readingdog-handler, the child-ren and the dogs and what the benefits from the interactions might be. The aim is also to examine how the child-ren express their literacy during the readingsessions and how to develop the readingsessions at a specific library. The author follows a reading dog project for seven weeks, in collaboration with a specific school and library. Action research was used as a research strategy, and since action research is done on the basis of practice, a coll-laboration with the participating children, the librarian and the readingdog-handler was significant in this study.The theoretical framework concists of theory and concepts from the sociocultural theory developed by Ro-ger Säljö, and human-animal studies with concepts from Donna Haraway.

I have together with Frimeko AB developed new hallway furniture for preschools. The background to the project is the fact that all the existing hallway furniture?s on the market today have a similar design and same features. None of the furniture stands out immediately. Companies who work with school furniture in general have been inspired by each other, and therefore is the collections monotonous.

The ambition of this paper is to study the construction of the categorization between ?us? and ?them? in a religious minority, represented by Jehovah?s Witnesses and a nationalist political party, represented by the Swedish Democrats. This will be done by a discursive psychology analysis of their official publications on each group?s website. By a deductive study using Henri Tajfel?s Social Identity Theory trying to disclose the psychological processes; social categorization, social identity, social comparison and psychological distinctiveness.

The VAT Directive (2006/112/EC) does not regulate Member States? opportunities to intervene against tax evasion. The European Court of Justice has clarified the situation in case C-255/02 Halifax. Denna uppsats behandlar historieskrivningen rörande Gustav III i skolans läroböcker i historia. Studiens syfte är att undersöka och redogöra för hur framställningen av Gustav III i svenska läroböcker riktade till mellanstadiet har sett ut och förändrats under åren 1902-2005. Vidare är syftet att studera huruvida denna framställning är redovisad som en beskrivande, berättande eller som en argumenterande historia efter Tom Wikmans teori om historieskrivning i läroböcker. Uppsatsens slutliga syfte är att undersöka hur Gustav III har framställts som person och som regent, samt hur hans politik och politiska beslut har blivit presenterade. Det källmaterial som studien bygger på är sju läroböcker tryckta mellan åren 1902-2005.

Denna studies syfte är att undersöka vilken uppfattning särbegåvade individer har av det svenska skolsystemet. Anser de att skolan gör det som krävs för att hjälpa dessa individer eller borde de få stöd från skolan i högre grad? Är det accepterat att vara särbegåvad i den svenska skolan eller kan det rentav vara till nackdel? Är det viktigt att man får utnyttja sin potential eller är det viktigare att alla elever uppnår samma mål? För att få fram vad de särbegåvade individerna tycker om detta har jag valt attgenomföra en enkät bland medlemmar i Mensa (en förening som samlar personer som presterat ovanligt bra på intelligens­test) för att sedan sammanställa resultaten och försöka koppla dem till vad som sägs i den pedagogiska litteraturen om dessa frågor. Studien visar att de särbegåvade individerna generellt sett anser att skolan i väsentligt högre grad skulle kunna stödja sådana elever. De anser dock inte att detta får ske på bekostnad av andra elever, utan att det är viktigare att de svaga eleverna får möjlighet till hjälp att uppnå skolans mål.

Ämnet för uppsatsen är att undersöka vilka kommunikationsverktyg gymnasieelever på Kungsmadskolan i Växjö använder sig av för att kommunicera på Internet, vilka motiv som ligger bakom valet av kommunikationsverktyg och det fortsatta användandet. Uppsatsen inriktar sig på fem olika typer av kommunikationsverktyg: chatt, Internetforum, community, Internettelefoni och e-post. Undersökningens syfte är föreståelseinriktat, vilket innebär att vi ämnar att undersöka och förstå vilka motiv som avgör gymnasieelevernas val. Vi har valt en kvalitativ metod för vår undersökning. Vi har genom diskussion med två stycken fokusgrupper indelade i en med bara killar och en med bara tjejer från Kungsmadskolan i Växjö samlat in empirisk data.

The study explores collective action in Sweden between 1980 to 1995 using time-series data from the European Protest and Coercion Database. In spite of severe hardship during the crisis of the early 1990s, Swedish strike-rates declined. However, contention merely shifted from workplaces into the streets; there was indeed a protest movement against austerity, as shown by a series of large demonstrations, and some riots, between 1989 and 1993. Further analysis indicates this movement faded as it was increasingly chanelled into the electoral campaign of the labor pary; having won the 1994 election, the organised labor movement no longer had an interest in sustaining the protest movement against austerity..

Umbrella organizations, organizations that have other organizations as members, are in previous research described as arenas of conflicts with problematic decision-making and contradictory parallel action towards political decision-makers. However, the research within this subject is limited, and therefore the aim of this paper is to add knowledge to how such organizations in fact work. After conducting a case study at the trade association ESTOC this thesis challenge previous statements about umbrella organizations and conclude that there, under certain circumstances, may exist harmony within an umbrella organizations. The main implication, thus, is that we have to readdress umbrella organizations in quite another way to be able to make a more realistic interpretation of collaborations in umbrella organizations..

The purpose of this thesis is to find means of control that secure cost efficiency regarding the accommodation for the employees on missions abroad of the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Today the ministry?s cost for the employees? rented housing is 100 million SEK and there is a need of improvement in the control of these costs. A work method for organizational development will be used in order to reach the findings presented in the thesis. First we study the strengths and weaknesses in today?s control system.

Experiences in Sport (IPIES; Weibull 2008a) användes som mätinstrument. Resultatet visade att det var stora skillnader mellan spelarnas generella och specifika visualiseringsupplevelser. Resultatet visade även att på en stor dynamik i spelarnas visualiseringsmönster. Förändringar i spelarnas visualiseringsmönster kan förklaras utifrån Action Theory (Nitch, 1985). Vidare visade studie att spelarnas medvetenhet ökade under undersökningsperioden.

The purpose of this essay was to develop a conservation program for the outdoor environment at the Zorn House (Zorngården) in Mora, Dalarna, situated in the upper central part of Sweden. In the conservation program the Zorn House garden?s origins and development process has been studied by historical studies of various kinds. As a result a status report also has been made and a description of the garden's values. This has resulted in an objective discussion that provides guidelines for how the garden can be developed in the future.

The aim of this thesis is to study the situation of minorities in Slovakia before and after the EU-membership and if EU has played a role in the situation. Also the criteria for becoming a member and other treaties regarding protection of minorities between European institutions and the accession/member states are studied. With the help of i.e. literature, relevant internet pages and yearly studies of EU, the conclusion has been made that Slovakia has made an immense change in the state?s legislation when it comes to minorities and their fundamental rights, but that changes need to be made in attitudes as well.

Hur ungdomar kan motiveras till att återuppta sina studier efter avhopp från gymnasieskolan har legat till grund för denna undersökning som genomfördes i samarbete med Länsstyrelsen i Norrbotten. Syftet var att kartlägga attityder och intentioner vad det gäller studier hos ungdomar som avbrutit sina gymnasiestudier. Den erhållna kunskapen kunde sedan användas som ett underlag för att lägga fram förslag om vad skolan kunde göra för att försöka förhindra avhopp och motivera unga till att återuppta sina studier. En undersökningsmetod utformades med hjälp av Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) av Fishbein och Ajzen, samt olika utredningar. Tretton intervjuer genomfördes med ungdomar som hade valt att avbryta sina gymnasiestudier under åren 2002 och 2003 i en mindre och en större kommun i Norrbotten.
