Background: Rheumatoid arthritis is a common disease worldwide. The disease is described as a chronic inflammation that afflicts mainly the joints, the tendrons and the synovial joint. The inflammation breaks down cartilage, ligaments and bone. When the patient gets the diagnosis he/she frequently reacts with chock, denial or/and dissociation. Active support from the nurse can have an important impact on the patient in accepting and processing that he/she suffers from disease.

The aim of this master thesis?s is to examine what functions writing activities can have in the public library. Some public libraries offer their visitors writing activities, for example courses and camps. The public library is an institution with a particular identity, with special norms and properties which participants within the institution construct and reproduce. The main question of this thesis is to investigate how writing activities can be a part of the public library?s institutional identity and what functions writing activities in the public library can have.

In this case study the qualitative method of idea analysis is being used on the empirical material. The tool of analysis is based upon the theories of research use by Amara et al.

This Master´s thesis aims to aquire knowledge about volunteers attitude toward work. It emphasis is on the differences between volunteers and non volunteers. There are four research questions used in order to fulfill the aim in a scientific manner. The essay aims to get in depth knowledge regarding whether or not the respondents feel that they have gained advantages in work life due to the fact that they are involved in volunteer work. One of the pivotal questions is if there is a possibility to see a pattern that binds together the reasons for volunteer work and the attitude toward work.

The aim of this thesis is to study the views of public librarians on the subject of controversial video games and how they work with them at the library. The purpose of the study is to answer these questions: What content is controversial in video games according to the librarians? How do the librarians handle the controversial games at the library? Does it exist a conflict between the users and the librarians about the controversial video games? Is it possible to see any underlying reasons or tendencies in the librarians answers? Five qualitative interviews were performed to answer these questions and the collected data was analyzed using the terms, value rationality and Instrumental rationality which were collected from a theory by Geir Vestheim. The results showed that the librarians see violence, sexism and racism as controversial content in video games. They handle the games at the library by limiting the access for children with age limits and by not buying the most controversial games in some cases.

In this essay, I analyze the syllabus for Swedish with specific regard to literature teaching. I identify three different perspectives which carries seperate implications. First, a text-centered perspective, which tends to position the importance of the text as a part of a tradition. However, this seems to distance the reading from the reader, and place the importance of the reading event outside the student. The consequence might be that the student employs an Instrumental reading which simply responds to a pre-set idea of meaning.

The aim of this thesis is to develop two idealtypes of politics to help serve as instruments in understanding and analysing the view on politics held by top civil servants in the municipality of Lund Sweden. The two ideal types developed here are symbolic sense making politics and rational Instrumental politics. These two ideal types were applied to material from a qualitative survey to help bring out clear results and to help with the interpretation of the material The results of the study showed that the two idealtypes could not help to clearly categorize the civil servants views on management by objectives. But while categorizing the top civil servants views the important features of policy documents the ideal types were helpful. By using the ideal types I came to the conclusion that the view on policy documents was mainly characterized by sense making politics.

Title: Teaching environment and teachers. A study of how music education philosophies influence Instrumental teaching and learning at a community music school. Question of the research: Which Music philosophical ideas can be traced in the Instrumental teaching of a community music school? Two teachers and their students have been videotaped. Data from the tapes and from interviews with the teachers and students have been analyzed by means of a category system, which grew out of the theoretical overview.

Syftet med detta arbete var att få ökad förståelse för hur åtta specifika Instrumentallärare utnyttjar möjligheterna och hanterar utmaningarna under lektioner i grupp och enskilt i cello- och blockflöjtsundervisning. Vi intervjuade åtta lärare (fyra cellolärare, tre blockflöjtslärare och en brasslärare) för att undersöka hur de uppfattade grupp- och enskild undervisning samt möjligheter och utmaningar med dessa undervisningsformer.Resultatet visar på att det är enklare att få en personlig kontakt under den enskilda lektionen och att lektionsinnehållet blir mer individuellt anpassat. Fokus på tekniken ses dock som både positivt och negativt. Relationen mellan läraren och eleven under den enskilda lektionen kan lätt bli osymmetrisk varför lärare bör försöka ?bjuda in? eleven att vara mer delaktig i diskussioner och planering.

What role should science play in democracy? Political scientists often assume that it is possible to demarcate between ?Instrumental? and ?moral? knowledge, and argue that citizens and/or politicians should use their moral knowledge to agree upon political goals and then apply the Instrumental knowledge of scientists to achieve them. This straightforward view is challenged by writers in science studies, who identify three major problems in the use of science in democracy: uncertainty, risk and hidden values. They suggest that these problems could be solved through citizen participation.In this essay I perform an analysis of the internal logic of their suggestion. Is it likely that citizen participation enhances the democratic decision making process so as to reduce the problems? The internal analysis shows that it is rational to advocate citizen participation by reasons of legitimacy.

I studien granskas hur lärare i kursen Instrument och sång 1 planerar sin undervisning, hur eleverna kan påverka undervisningen samt vad de tycker om den nya kursplanen i Gy11. Studien genomfördes i form av sex stycken kvalitativa intervjuer där informanterna var verksamma Instrumentallärare som undervisar på gymnasiet med olika lång erfarenhet av att undervisa. Kursplanen användes som grund för studien. Syftet med studien var att öka förståelsen för hur verksamma Instrumental- och sånglärare i gymnasieskolan planerar utifrån kursplanen i Instrument och sång 1. Inför studien tog vi del av tidigare forskning och litteratur inom områdena planering, elevinflytande, kursplan, bedömning samt musik.

Den här uppsatsen undersöker lärarnas betydelse för musik- och kulturskolornas utbud och prioriteringar. Den undersöker också deras attityder inom olika områden som skulle kunna ha betydelse för dessa prioriteringar. Undersökningen är gjord enligt kvalitativ metod, genom intervjuer med Instrumentallärare vid olika musik- och kulturskolor. Det är mycket som talar för att musiklärare uppfattar att de har ett stort inflytande över beslut som fattas inom musik- och kulturskolan. För det första upplever lärare att musikskolan själv har ett stort inflytande över sin verksamhet och att kollegiet bör vara en viktig grund för de beslut som tas.
