This thesis describes teh solution of two problems regarding safety on powered lawnmowers; protectning the users from injury when using the lawnmower in slopes, and when cleaning the cutting blade.The task was carried out through initial studies on a representative lawnmower. A generation of ideas followed with an evaluation to select the best solution. The winning concept was further developed to reach acceptable performance. The word resulted in a functioning prototype utilising an original way of detecting inclinations without incorrect signals. Research shows, that the interest for owning a company among the Swedish youth has increased.

Efter den 11 september 2001 förändrades vårt sätt att se på världen.Terrorattackerna mot USA:s symboler för ekonomi och försvar och efterföljande krig mot terrorismen gav upphov till allvarliga brott mot Genèvekonventionen.Avslöjandena om tortyr i fånglägren Abu Ghraib och Guantanamo Bay drev debatten om mänskliga rättigheter kontra nationell säkerhet i en tid av osäkerhet till sin spets. Framstående akademiker i USA menar trots de internationella fördömandena att tortyr är ett legitimt medel i kriget mot terrorismen om det kan leda till information som förhindrar framtida terrorattacker.Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka om det finns grund för ett rättfärdigande av tortyr och andra typer av brott mot mänskliga rättigheter. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the variation in the maximal discrimination of the interaction between cognate and a non-cognate codon and anti-codon (also called the d-value). The variation was analyzed with a multiple regression model with the d-value as the dependent variable and with the codon position and the different mRNA and tRNA bases as independent variables. The result of the analysis not only confirmed earlier studies that the maximal accuracy was highest in the second codon position and lowest in the third codon position but we also found significant relationships and interaction effects..

In this bachelor thesis an attempt is made to recreate the shoreline of Gotland during the Bronze Age. This has been done with the help of GIS to analyze remains dated to different periods of the Bronze Age that have been situated close to the coast. Case studies of three areas of the island have been made where dated remains together with typical Bronze Age remains like cairns and ship settings are analyzed with variables such as height over sea level and geological and topographical information. Contemporary datings from each case study have been compared to find a possible shoreline for both early and late Bronze Age. Two shorelines, one for the early Bronze Age and one for the late Bronze Age, have been created and tested on the three areas to see the placement of the remains in relation to these coastlines..

Which expectations did leading debaters place on fiction as an instrument in achieving societal changes hoped for by introducing the Public library? How can the value of fiction be described in relation to the mission of the Public library, according to these moulders of public opinion? Place and timeframe for this thesis is Sweden around the years 1905-1912 (period of formation of the Public library here according to the Anglo-American model). Starting point is the assumption that the Public library as a political institution is characterized by an ideological function. It produces meaning and norms, it sets standards of value. Method used is based on close reading and comparison.

Swedish sawmills of today suffer from unsatisfying economy with high costs and low benefits. The economical result depends on how well the sawmill can use their raw material. Iggesund Timber AB, a sawmill in the Holmen group, produces a large amount is enduse orientated products for the woodworking industry. Therefore the aim of this student thesis was to investigate the possibility of automatic enduse orientated quality grading of Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris) saw logs by using a gamma-ray log scanner. Iggesund Timber AB has the possibility to grade logs automatically with TINA, a two way gamma-ray log scanner. Grading and classification of Scots Pine logs in Sweden today are mainly manual but can in some rare cases be automatic.

The rainforests of the world are important not only to the countries in which they grow but to the world as a whole. They influence oxygen and water circulation as well as carbon sequestration which in turn affect global radiation and global warming. The forest also have great value and in Malaysia as in many other tropical countries large volumes are harvested which leaves great areas of degraded forest with little growth and biological diversity. Due to their low financial value these forests are often transformed and used for other purposes than forestry such as oil palm plantations. The trees are often transported out of the forest using large bulldozers. They are heavy which causes compaction of the forest floor and during transport the top soil layers are moved to improve mobility.

Bakgrund: Operationer kan pågå under många timmar där instrumenten inte är täckta med steril duk och är utsatta för partiklar som finns i luften på operationssalen. Dessa instrument byts inte ut eftersom det inte finns några riktlinjer eller rutiner på detta.Syfte: Undersöka antal CFU på instrumentborden från uppdukning till att operationsingreppet är avslutad. Samt undersöka sambandet mellan antal bakterier och antal personer, antal dörröppningar, personalens klädsel och den tid som blodagarplattorna har varit framme.Metod: Kvantitativ observationsstudie med indirekt och direkt observation. Mätningarna har gjorts med tre stycken blodagarplattor av storlek 14 centimeter i diameter på ett sjukhus i Mellansverige. Observationer har även gjorts på antal personer, dörröppningar, personalens klädsel.Resultat: Resultatet visar att det finns en tydlig ökning av CFU desto längre tiden går.

Mitt examensarbete handlar om min musikaliska bana och skall ge en överblick av mig själv som musiker här och nu. Det blev många byten av instrument i min musikaliska karriär, som har skapat problem med min musikaliska identitet och bild av mig själv. Vem är jag egentligen, som musiker? Vilket instrument identifierar jag mig med? Uppväxt och utbildning i ett annat land har givit mig en grund att stå  på men har samtidigt skapat problem för mig med den svenska undervisningen. Vad är rätt och vad är fel? Finns det rätt eller fel? Hur har min identitet påverkats av de olika utbildningssystemen? Jag skapade en enkät för utländska studenter för att ta reda på om jag är ensam om mina upplevelser och därmed fånga eventuella skillnader.Uppväxt och skolgång påverkar  musikers identitet och man bär konsekvenserna av skolningen genom hela livet.Hur påverkas identiteten av instrumentval, repertoar och arbetsplats? Jag har tittat närmare på detta.Påverkas musikers identitet av kön? Hur lätt är det att vara kvinna och invandrare? Fungerar integrationen i Sverige? Jag försöker hitta svar på sådana frågor.I det sista kapitlet reflekterar jag över min examenskonsert och min musikaliska identitet.Jag har kommit fram till att min identitet är Musiker och Världsmedborgare.

The purpose of this Master's thesis is to find possible explanations of variation in light scattering in a fine paper. Samples were collected from each second tambour during a time period of two weeks from a paper machine at MoDo Paper, Husum. Two data sets, consisting of 20 and 95 observations, were selected for extensive analysises of tensile and structual properties. The data was evaluated with multivariate data techniques using the programs Simca and Extract. The results of PCA- and PLS- analysises pointed out 3 of 52 variables as important for the variations in light scattering.

Vad innebär musik och rörelse i förskolan? De flesta förskollärarna ansåg att fantasin och viljan att spela och sjunga med barnen var en av de viktigaste förutsättningarna för att få en lyckad musik och rörelseverksamhet i förskolan. Glädje, inlevelse och spontanitet är även en viktig del i musik och rörelseverksamheten, något som förskollärarna genomgående tyckte. Hur arbetar förskolan (informanterna) med musik och rörelse? I de sex förskolorna som ingick i vår studie, kom vi fram till att samtliga förskolor arbetade kontinuerligt med musik och rörelse i samlingarna.
