For a long period of time there have been discussions about the need to modernize, to keep up with the changes in our society. The schools as a result have to keep up and adapt in order for the education to be up-to-date. This includes the technological developments. Many steps have been taken and mighty sums have been invested in order to keep up the pace ? but are there any consequences from these kinds of investments? In this report I?m going to take a closer look on a recent addition to this phenomenon that were installed by means of a top-down approach and study the teachers and how they have adapted and view the change in their environment ? namely the newly installed interactive writing-boards.The questions I will study include how the teachers express their view about the installation of the interactive writing-boards.

The aim of the study was to install a biogas system consisting of three tubular polyethylene biogas digesters at a rural household in Malawi and to evaluate the constructed biogas system with regards to relevant system parameters. The purpose was to evaluate if the technology is a possible solution to reduce deforestation and support Malawi in climate change mitigation and adaptation. The study was carried out in the southern part of Malawi in cooperation with the University of Malawi. Locally available materials were used to construct and install the system. Three different feed materials, cow, goat and a mix of cow and goat manure, were used in order to determine which one was best suited to utilise as a digester substrate. After the installation, measurements of temperature, pH, biogas production, biogas composition and system functionality were made. The results of the study show that a biogas system with tubular polyethylene biogas digesters can be successfully installed at a rural household and that the most suitable feed material is a mix of cow and goat manure.

This thesis examines the problems related to IT in the Swedish healthcare system, specifically the drug searching part of the electronic healthcare systems used in Sweden. The question formulation is divided into two questions: What parameters and functions are of greatest importance when performing a search on drugs, and how should these be presented in a graphical user interface? Thus the purpose is to answer these questions through developing a design concept, in the form of a prototype, which describes how a drug search can be carried out.The entry point is a central quality checked drug database that is managed and owned by Swedish county councils and regions. The problem is attacked through user-centered methods where interviews of physicians and developers, in conjunction with observations, are used to give an overview of the problem area as well as to specify a requirements specification for the prototype that this thesis aims to develop. The thesis result is a requirements specification in combination with a prototype that exemplifies how drug searching can be performed, the prototype is based the requirements gathered from the interviews with the user group of physicians..

Energy Director is a control and measuring system for energy consumption and is part of the product portfolio of E.ON AG for more efficient use of energy, offered to business customers. As of today, the system has only one parameter of control, namely power, and the objective of this essay has been to investigate whether other ones could be added. The emphasis is on the environmental perspective, which is why carbon dioxide has served as an example for this parameter in question.Parallel with the study of Energy Director electricity on the margin, calculations of carbon dioxide equivalents and also the Swedish trade of electricity have all been highlighted. Results indicate that when reductions in energy are made it is endorsed to omit from electricity on the margin rather than some mean distributed electricity, under certain conditions, and in addition the calculations of the reductions should be modified regarding the efficiency of the power stations fuelled by lignite and bituminous coal. Sweden practices trade with the Nordic countries as well as Poland and Germany.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate if vacuum insulation panels are a competitive alternative to traditional insulation.Vacuum insulation has been used as insulation in buildings in Germany and Switzerland for a few years. In Sweden the high-performance insulation material is mainly used in refrigerators, freezers and vacuum thermoses. The development is proceeding well and vacuum insulation is becoming more common in the construction industry. Since it is a relatively unexplored material on the market there are many flaws and problems with the material.The questions we have chosen to answer in this report include an increased knowledge of vacuum insulation, various problems that may arise when handling/installation and the pros and cons of vacuum insulation compared to standard traditional insulation.The methods we have chosen to use in this report is a literature study, interviews with various suppliers and manufactures and calculations to show the differences between traditional and vacuum insulation. Vacuum insulation is 5-10 times better insulation than standard traditional mineral wool insulation, mainly at the beginning of its lifetime.Vacuum insulation panels (VIP) have a service life of approximately 50 years, whereas traditional insulation has a service life of approximately 100 years.

The aim of this thesis is to study a number of standards and theories, from the two research areas human-computer interaction and psychology, about how a graphical user interface (GUI) should be composed in order to facilitate interaction between humans and computers. Special emphasis is put on how the GUI should take into consideration the strengths and limitations of human cognition and perception. A study of three web catalogues shows how these theories appear when concretised. The following questions are answered in this thesis:What guidelines and styleguides can be found that specify the design of a user-friendly GUI?How do a few library catalogues on the web match a selection of these design principles?The guidelines are extracted from literature concerning human-computer interaction, psychology, automated library systems and web design.

This essay studies the practice of both the political and the administrative leadership at the municipal level from the point of view of the politicians and the chief officers leadership role, and the relationship between politicians and administrators. I discuss and analyse how politicians and senior officials practice leadership, differences or similarities and if their practice of leadership raises any challenges in a democratic framework at the municipal level. I conducted interviews with the municipal political leader and the head of administration at the municipal level in Karlshamn and Sölvesborg. In the analysis I discuss communication as a leadership process which highlights ?enabling elements? and potentials of the leadership process.

I denna studie undersöks möjligheterna att ta fram en alternativ inslagstråd till Bolons vävda PVC-golv för att förbättra dess akustiska egenskaper. Golvet som studien utgick från var vävt i tvåskaft med PVC-garn i varp och väft. Den nya inslagstråden måste klara de processbetingelser som Bolons golvproduktion innebär utan att krympa mer än 5 %, antända eller brytas ned. För att möjliggöra förvaring, installation samt få en högre motståndskraft mot nötning bör inslagstråden fixera med PVC-varpen. Det färdiga golvet, skall klara nötning utan att trådbrott eller färgändring uppstår.

Den här rapporten har undersökt hur den grekiska marknaden ser ut för ett företag som vill etablera sig och sin produkt på nämnda marknad. Rapportens Investeringskalkyl visar att om den grekiska befolkningen väljer att byta ut sitt befintliga uppvärmningssystem som består av olja och ersätter den med luftvärmepumpen Thermia Atec så kan de spara så mycket som upp till ?2421.5 årligen. Med en engångskostnad för installation och maskin på ?10 000  är investeringen räknad med en räntesats på 20 % insparad på cirka 10 år.

The purpose of this project is to analyze earthing systems for houses. By practical measurements and theoretical analyzes consequences of possible faults, that can occur within the facility and in the low-voltage distribution network, is illustrated.  The reason for this project is that nowadays one has to arrange with a main equipotential bonding system for buildings. Apart from that, if necessary, bathrooms must be provided with a supplementary equipotential bonding system.The practical measurements verify that potential differences in facilities may be due to voltage drops in the PEN conductor between the origin of the electrical installation and the power transformer.Based on the theoretical analyzes of possible faults, it is considered that the requirement for  supplementary equipotential bonding systems for bathrooms in most cases can be questioned, when basic insulation, fault protection, residual current devise and main equipotential bonding system already provides an adequate level of protection.A PEN conductor loss may result in a situation where metallic parts attached to the equipotential bonding system starts working as earth electrodes. Equipotential bonding system may also increase the incidence of stray currents. If TN-C-S systems is provided with a local connection to earth a redundant system against PEN conductor loss is obtained.

This study is an evaluation of the runtime watch function in a OEE software, knownas ProTAK. OEE stands for Overall Equipment Effectiveness, it?s a way to measurethe factories process efficiency. The runtimewatch function allows the user to setup and monitor certain critical objects that are of importance for the pulp and paper process at the mill. The data from the runtimewatch can be correlated towards the suppliers specification for the components.

Liquid Media är ett litet företag lokaliserat I Stockholm, Sverige. Dom har en rik historia med flera spel produktioner i sin merit lista. Jag fick som uppgift att skapa ett flertal visuella föremål till några av deras mindre projekt. Jag har här sammanfattat mitt arbete om hur jag gick till väga för att lyckas med detta. Mitt arbete på Liquid Media involverade flera olika delar av spelkonst produktion. Liquid behövde olika kläd- och hudtexturer till deras spel karaktärer, dom behövde modeller för ett andra spel projekt och dom behövde även omorganiserade uv-mappar till några klädtexturer i förebyggande syfte så att användaren i framtiden ska kunna byta kläder på rätt sätt. För att klara av dom olika uppdragen som jag åtog mig bestämde jag mig för att använda olika program för olika ändamål.

In this project the task has been to develop a product that will facilitate an operation for personnel working in a sterilization center. The operation is to steer the front of a loading trolley into the chamber of an autoclave, a so-called docking. The moment is complicated because the margins to deviate from ideal docking position and still succeed, is very small.The principal Getinge's desire was that the product could be retrofitted at the customers on their existing systems. One of the demands was that the product should fit two types of trolleys, one with a adjustable working height and one with a fixed working height. Getinge is supposed to purchase the system from a subcontractor who shall manufacture it and the requirement from Getinge is that the cost of purchase mustn't exceed SEK 500Initially principles, solving the problem was developed.

Examensarbetet är utfört hos Aaro Systems AB, som säljer ett datasystem som hanterar bokslut, redovisning och konsolidering av ekonomisk data för koncerner. En del av detta system är ett web-gränssnitt där man kan generera och manipulera ekonomiska rapporter. Min uppgift var till en början att undersöka hur detta gränssnitt kunde anpassas för att visas på mobila enheter. Det visade sig dock fungera bättre än väntat utan några störremodifikationer så efter en vecka omdefinierade vi min uppgift till att utveckla ett övervakningssystem för kundernas applikationsservrar. Varje kund hos Aaro kör sin egen applikationsserver på plats.

Den  ökande  risken  för  att  drabbas  av  dataintrång  ställer  allt  högre  krav  på datoranvändarens medvetenhet om de risker  och hot  som idag föreligger  i nätverk och  på  Internet.  En  väldigt  stor  del  av  datoranvändare  installerar  inte  alltid  de senaste  uppdateringarna  då  de  tillgängliggörs  och  detta  medför  att  systemen  som saknar dessa viktiga uppdateringar blir extra sårbara för hot från angripare.Tekniska  sårbarhetsanalyser  kan  vara  hjälpsamma  för  att  på  ett  smidigt  sätt uppskatta  potentiella  risker  och sårbarheter  i  ett  befintligt  informationssystem. En stor  fördel  med  många  av  dagens  sårbarhetsverktyg  är  att  de  till  stor  del  är automatiserade  och  således  inte  kräver  allt  för  djupa  kunskaper  för  att  använda, samt att de är relativt enkla att implementera.I  den  här  rapporten  har  säkerheten  i  Windows  7  och  tre  populära  programvarorundersökts.  De  tre  programvarorna  som  låg  till  grund  för  undersökningen  varOracle  Java,   Adobe  Flash  och  Adobe  Reader.  För  att  utvärdera  säkerheten  har  vi genomfört  sårbarhetsanalyser  i  syfte  att  kontrollera  hur  systemets  säkerhet påverkas,  dels  vid  installation  av  nya  programvaror,  men  även  i  systemets  skede före-  och  efter  viktiga  säkerhetsuppdateringar  .   Enklare  penetrationstester  har även genomförts  för att påvisa några av de identifierade sårbarheterna och hur de kan utnyttjas för att få full åtkomst till kritiska delar av systemet.Resultaten  i  rapporten  visar  att  det  är  väldigt  viktigt  att  datoranvändare kontinuerligt uppdaterar sina installerade programvaror och sitt operativsystem för att minska riskerna för dataintrång..
