The aim with this study was to examine which information sources are used by the librarians in the process of changing automated library system and why. Furthermore it was of interest to examine whether there are any correlations between variables environment, information quality, information availability, information need and information sources. I used a quantitative method that was carried out in form of a nationwide survey. Questionnaires were sent out to all the Swedish libraries that had change library systems sometime between the years 2000.

The purpose of this thesis is to explore how the internal information processing and management is carried out within a unit of Viskafors municipality. Furthermore, to explore and make recommendations of how the organisation can improve its internal information management. To get a full picture I have interviewed people at different levels of the organisation. The main findings showed that there was a dysfunction in the internal information processing and management. For example the study showed that the internal information did not reach out to the different parts of the organisation due to insufficient information processing.

Companies have in the past decades changed fromtraditional manufacturing organizations into serviceorganizations. For these service organizationsinformation and competence have become animportant resource. The traditional view oninformation is that an employee use and search forinformation to reduce uncertainty for their decisionmaking. Even though information is strategicallyimportant for organizations, information is not valuedin any way. Hence, this thesis aims to valueinformation in terms of the utility it brings to theorganization.The conclusion is that four factors are important whenvaluing information in terms of utility.

The purpose with this study is to examine school-leaders?, school-librarians? and teachers? expectations and aims for their school-libraries at two different schools in the city of Växjö. The study is based on these five questions:· How do school-leaders, school-librarians and teachers think about learning?· What function does the school-library have?· What roles do school-leaders, school-librarians and teachers have in the school-library?· How do school-leaders, school-librarians and teachers experience the co-operation in the school-library?· How would school-leaders, school-librarians and teachers wish that the co-operation should be?To be able to answer these questions I have done thirteen qualitative interviews and studied literature relevant to the subject. Three different theories are used as a theoretical framework; the traditional perspective, individual constructivism and social constructivism.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to identify and describe thedifferent roles that are expressed in a public library by researchingthem in the four policy documents concerning Västerås public libraryin 2010 and by interviews with three specially chosen key persons.Further studied are the discourses that can be perceived in thematerial and whether or not the roles could come in conflict witheach other. Laclau and Mouffes discursive theory constitutes themethodical frame for this thesis and by using terms from discursivetheory the analysis was made in four steps.Seven roles were identified from the policy documents concerningVästerås public library and the interviews with the key persons. Thefirst role of the public library was the intermediary of knowledge andinformation, the second was viewed as a democratic role, the third asa marketing role, the fourth as a role that handled the collaboration,the fifth role was to improve literacy, and the sixth and seventh roleswere as a culture centre and a meeting place. With the help fromkeywords five major discourses were found within the material.

This paper deals with the concept "Information Overload" (IO). It describes the intellectualcontent of the idea as well as its supposed domains of activity. Furthermore it problemizes theimage of "Information", "Information Society" and other concepts related to those phenomenons.A division by two fundamental different distinctions of IO are being made. Syftet med studien är att få kunskap om olika läsinlärningsmetoder, hur läsutveckling sker samt vilka eventuella förkunskaper barnet bör ha innan det ska lära sig läsa. Våra frågeställningar är: Hur ser lärarna på läsutveckling? Hur tänker lärarna kring läsprocessen? Vilka eventuella förkunskaper anser lärarna att barnet bör ha när det ska lära sig läsa? Vilka läsinlärningsmetoder använder lärarna sig av ute i verksamheten?. För att få svar på våra frågeställningar har vi intervjuat åtta yrkesverksamma lärare i åk 1-3..

The purpose of this Master?s Thesis is to examine the information use and information behavior of the scientists at the company ?Forskningsbolaget?. For this purpose an Information Audit was carried out using both interviews with six managers and a questionnaire, which was sent out to the entire population of 213 scientists. After finding out what information the scientists use and how they obtain it the aim was to answer the question of to what extent the company?s Information Centre can meet these needs.

The aim of this study is to examine the information behavior of younger seniors with a special focus on the Internet. Using a qualitative method consisting of a case study, including observations, diaries, questionnaires, and information diaries, we were able to compare the information behavior of the seniors in their use of the Internet, with the information behavior in their everyday life. The result of the study shows that the respondents led very active lives and used many different information sources in everyday life. They did not only seek information, but also assimilated it, often with a purpose to mediate it to other people. The motives behind the information use in everyday life were mainly connected to their life situations.

In autumn of 2021, the anthology A Bridge of Poetry was given to all six-year-olds in Sweden. The anthology contains both older and contemporary poetry, as well as both children?s poetry and poetry written for experienced readers. The idea is that, with the help of an adult, texts and images, and in some cases short movies, will together stimulate children?s thoughts and initiate conversations, as well as arousing children?s curiosity about poetry.

Denna narrativa studie handlar om tre lärares berättelse om hur de ser på barns roll och förmåga i lärandet efter att ha genomgått kompetensutveckling ?Läsa ? språka ? skriva?.Resultatet påvisar att det finns ett samband mellan deras synsätt och kompetensutvecklingen som har föranlett förändringar av arbetsformen och arbetssättet av lärarnas undervisning i läs- och skrivprocessen..

Tidigare forskning har visat att förmågan att läsa och skriva påverkar både människans kognitiva tänkande och neurologiska strukturer. Likaså innebär oförmågan att läsa och skriva en social press som påverkar vår syn på oss själva. Men hur påverkas vår själv- och framtidssyn av att vi lär oss att läsa och skriva? Detta har undersökts genom intervjuer med 14 kvinnor i Nepal med olika erfarenheter av att läsa och skriva. Resultatet visade huvudsakligen att kvinnorna såg sig själva som mer självständiga och självsäkra, och sin framtid som mer ljus efter att de lärt sig att läsa och skriva.

Syftet med denna studie är att med utgångspunkt i lärares utbildning, undersöka om trumpetlärares undervisning vid musik- och kulturskolor skiljer sig åt vad gäller innehåll och arbetssätt. Undersökningen är genomförd med hjälp av kvalitativa metoder för att samla empiriskt material. Fyra lärare, i olika åldrar och med olika utbildning, deltar i studien. Analysen av resultatet genererade en modell som presenteras i diskussionen. Det visade sig bland annat att lärarnas arbetssätt och innehållet i undervisningen var beroende av när man lät musiken komma in i bilden. De olika lärarna kunde också ?delas in? i två undervisningstraditioner vilka skulle kunna betecknas som skapande och återskapande. .

The main purpose of this study was to investigate in what manner librarians and pedagogues can cooperate in order to help students with reading and writing problems and consequently enhance their Information Literacy. I aimed to investigate why cooperation between these professions is necessary. Also, I wanted to find out how the general support is on the schools regarding students with reading and writing difficulties, and if the school librarian knows what the special educator can contribute with and vice versa. Lastly, I focused on what knowledge the performers of these professions have about reading and writing difficulties and to what degree their knowledge is based on scientifically proven methods.The two theoretical points of departure are 1) theory of cooperation built upon Louise Limberg?s and Lena Folkesson?s three categories of cooperation 2) and Aidan Chambers?s reading promoting model named the circle of reading.

The aim of this master´s thesis is to analyse what factors have an impact on the quality of school libraries. The research questions are: How do some school principals, school librarians and school inspectors view quality in school libraries and what has an impact on quality?How do they view some existing quality criteria?How important do they think the integration of the school library into the curriculum is?The theoretical approach is derived from research about school libraries by David Loertscher and by Sharon Markless and David Streatfield. The empirical material has been collected through half structured qualitative interviews. The informants chosen are principals and school librarians from three Swedish primary schools (6-15 years).
