Eftersom vi lever i ett samhälle där informationen flödar, är det svårt att veta hur man ska sålla bland all information. Hur ska man veta vilka källor som är trovärdiga och vad som är sant? I gymnasieskolans läroplan finns direktiv att elever ska ges möjlighet att utveckla dessa färdigheter, som i denna uppsats kallas mediekompetens.Syftet med detta arbete är att undersöka om två läroböcker i svenska ger tillräckligt med stöd för lärare och elever i sitt arbete att utveckla en mediekompetens. Metoden för arbetet har i huvudsak varit jämförelser mellan Skolverkets kursmål i svenska 1 och innehållet i de två läroböckerna.Enligt min tolkning av resultatet kommer jag fram till att innehållet i båda böckerna stämmer ganska väl överens med kursmålen med endast några få undantag. Den nyare boken av de två läroböckerna är något utförligare i sina beskrivningar och behandlar medier som en större helhet och förklarar tydligare de bakomliggande mekanismer som styr mediernas innehåll..

The purpose of this Master's thesis is to study how children's and youth librarians mediate non-fiction books in public libraries. Our overarching research question is as follows: to which extent, how, and for what reasons do children's and youth librarians mediate non-fiction? We have chosen to limit our study to the practice of booktalking.In order to answer questions on extent we conducted a quantitative survey of booktalking children's and youth librarians in Skåne. To answer our other questions on behaviour and attitudes we conducted observations and interviews with six librarians who include non-fiction in booktalks for children in primary school. As a way to study behaviour we examined librarians' selection criteria and methods.

Scania som är ett multinationellt företag har som vision att alla medarbetare ska kunna delta och påverka sitt eget arbete, och att hantera dagens läs- och skrivkrav ses som en nyckel till det. Under 2005 startade Scania i egen regi ett läs- och skrivprojekt med mål att höja medarbetarnas läs- och skrivkompetens. 13.5 % av medarbetarna i motormonteringen anmälde sig till läs- och skrivprojektet. För att se vilket genomslag utbildningen har gett har vi anlitats av Scania för att utvärdera projektet. Syftet med vår studie är att utifrån djupintervjuer med Scanias motorbyggare undersöka skriftens betydelse i motorverkstaden samt söka svar på vad läs- och skrivutbildningen har betytt för motorbyggarna.

Nano materials can today be found in a wide range of consumer products and the number of new products on the market is expected to inrease. In the shadow of hope for nano materilas potential in various applications, low awareness of its health and environmental risks is hiding. Furthermore, the knowledge about people´s risk perception of nano materials is limited. Parallel to the situation described above, the scholls meet the challenge of incrasing the scientific literacy. To achieve this goal, skills in argumentation in science studies has been emphasized and the concept of socio-scientific issues has been emerged.

Detta examensarbete belyser vikten av att barn kommer i kontakt med val av böcker inom förskolan. Syftet med studien är att studera hur barn reflekterar kring böcker, vilka faktorer som påverkar deras bokval samt belysa om och hur läsaren och hemmets läsvanor påverkar barns sätt i att uttrycka sig kring böcker. Idag innebär förskolan stora barngrupper för både förskollärare, föräldrar och barn. Detta medför att det blir allt svårare att tillgodose det enskilda barnet i en allt mer växande verksamhet. Idag finns det liten möjlighet för förskollärare att tillgodose samtliga barns intressen även om kraven finns enligt nationella styrdokument.

The educational underachievement of children in foster care has been known for a long time. This study aimed to compile and analyze the current knowledge about interventions, intended to improve foster children?s school achievements. The method used was a systematically undertaken narrative review. Despite a comprehensive searching strategy, only ten relevant studies were found, indicating that little has been done to improve the educational outcomes for children in public care.

Studien som utförts analyserar ur ett sociosemiotiskt och multimodalt perspektiv vilka resurser läromedlet "Insikter i svenska" använder sig av. Läromedlet är riktat mot ungdomar i första året på gymnasiet som läser en yrkesinriktad utbildning. Studien redogör för ett antal utgångspunkter för multimodal bildanalys och påvisar även att lärmedlet innehåll ett antal av dessa resurser. .

Introduction: Intimate partner violence (IPV) is a great public health issue that can cause serious physical, psychological and psychosomatic injuries to the woman. Education is one out of many important protective factors against IPV. Aim: This study aimed to investigate the association between women?s educational level and IPV in low- and middle-income countries, the interaction between the education of the woman and the man and IPV, how education on different levels (individual-, family- and community-level) influences IPV and how gender is connected to education and IPV. Method: A literature-based study with 12 selected scientific articles as the foundation for the analysis was performed.

This essay investigates the integration of the school library into teaching in one of Sweden?s senior high schools and the effects of the new education act which gives school libraries a stronger standing. A second purpose is to investigate teachers? views on professional responsibility with regard to the development of Information Literacy. Through an email survey different aspects of library integration are investigated.

The main purpose of this essay is to investigate professional artists experience of the need and use of information in their creative work. I have collected the material through qualitative interviews with four professional artist working with different materials and techniques. One of the results of the study is that the artists first of all used information as a source of inspiration in their creative work. They gathered their information from various scources, for example; pictures, exhibitions, visual arts, books and novells, depending on what project they are working with. Other important information scources were colleges, especially for the technical information need.

The aim of this study is to examine and map out the different ways that theconception of Information Literacy (IL) is used in the governing documents ofthe Swedish elementary school. IL is a controversial concept around which thereis no proper consensus. Despite that fact, the word is used in a vast number ofcontexts. In the school world as well as in the library sphere the different waysof using the concept often appear to overlap although rarely in ways that seemconducive to one another. My work therefore, is aimed at finding out how theconcept is used within these two discourses and if or in what ways the usagescoincide and are compatible.

Shorter hospital stays increases the need for well functioning post hospital aftercare. Persons close to the patient are often involved in the aftercare and need information about self-care. This need is frequently not satisfied. The aim of this study was to investigate if the next-of-kin of patients cared for at the thoracic clinic at Uppsala University hospital, have received information about self-care and how they perceive the information they have been given. METHOD: To investigate this, questionnaires were sent out by mail.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to examine the information needs of reporters at a Swedish daily newspaper, and see if they are met by the information resources provided by the newspaper. It examines if there are resources which are not used and why. The examination is based on Henczel?s model for information auditing.

The purposes that have been mentioned is for both the information to consumers and companies.The conclusion that can be made after the analysis is that the information is of great importance for the policyholder, both for consumers and companies.

Mitt syfte med examensarbetet har varit att undersöka hur föräldrar stimulerar sina barns läsutveckling. Jag intervjuade därför tre föräldrar till barn i 6 års åldern. Genom intervjumaterialet fann jag att föräldrarna har olika tillvägagångssätt för att stimulera sina barns läsutveckling samt att de värdesätter olika aspekter av högläsningens effekter. Samtliga föräldrar läser högt för sina barn, de läser på olika sätt och i olika utsträckning. Föräldrarnas krav på förskolan när det gäller deras barns läsutveckling varierar..
