The problems with train-induced vibrations are increasing with heavier and faster trains. Therefore the work with propagating vibrations is of outmost importance, and that is what this thesis relates to.To get a sensible idea of the propagation, calculation models are often used. Propagation calculation models takes into account factors such as distance to the railway, the ground material and the velocity and weight of the train. This work is mainly about finding suitable existing models and, if necessary, adjust them to be more useful with modern trains and railways.The report contains the work of adjusting one such model and does, despite the fully functional adjusted model, describe how much more there can be done within this topic. Finally, a few tips about specific areas that preferably should be studied to get even further knowledge about the troublesome problems from railways..

The mission was to create a prototype of a menu system for the companySystem Andersson AB. The instructions were that it has to be as interesting andmodern now as in 20 years. We had to look at technology from the cutting edgeof development to make our prototype survive in the future. WindowsPresentation Foundation (WPF) was the technique we focused on. There areonly a few applications that take advantage of WPF today, but it is predictedthat WPF will be the next generation method for developing applications to theWindows platform.To make our menu visually appealing, easy to use and at the same timefunctional, we followed the clear path and guidelines that are available ininteraction design.

The aim of this two-year masters thesis is to look for the Swedish public library´s core business, using theories about competence. The approach is qualitative. It is done by studying the Unesco Public Library Manifesto, the Swedish library legislation, the education in library and information science, two important Swedish library related journals and by asking public librarians about their work and point of view regarding competence.The research shows mainly two sides of the core competence of public librarians: information technology competence and literature knowledge. The conclusion is that the two meet in the idea of mass education, which could therefore be called the Swedish public library´s core business..

Because hydrauliccylinders usually work in dirtyenvironments and are heavilyworn some types of cylinders arealmost impossible to disassemble.Today the disassemble is made by hand,which means extra work for themechanics. In order to facilitate thedismantling of this type of cylindersa machine is to be developed for thispurpose and this is where this thesisbegins.The thesis has been organized in threephases: Literature study in whichfacts and theories are acquired.Concept generation in which differentconcepts, calculations, and solutionswere identified and selected. Thedesign phase where all the differentconcepts of components were assembledand simulated in SolidWorks. Similarstructures have also been studied inorder to identify necessary functions.The thesis resulted in a structurewhich is believed to meet therequirements.

Forskning benämner de barn och ungdomar som föddes under åttio- och nittiotalet som internetgenerationen. Innebörden av detta begrepp är att vi har en hel generation som vuxit upp med nätet som ett ständigt närvarande fenomen samt att detta i sin tur påverkat ungas vardag, socialisation och inlärning. Den omfattande effekt nätet haft på samhället och våra yngre generationer har i sin tur påverkat det pedagogiska uppdraget. Jag har gjort en kvalitativ undersökning där jag intervjuat fem pedagoger om deras tankar kring internet och dess inverkan på pedagogens uppdrag. Pedagogerna är alla eniga om att internet spelar en viktig roll i barns och ungas tillvaro samt att barn visar kunskaper om IT och nätet redan första året i skolan.

The basis of the study lies with a newly patented gearbox by cardiologist and inventor Stig Lundbäck. Stig founded CorPower Ocean AB to further develop the gearbox to be used in a wave energy device. The purpose of this project is to develop a concept of a lifting system with CorPower Oceans gearbox that is more energy efficient than a hydraulic lifting system. The goal is to use technology from CorPower Oceans gearbox inversely to perform heavy lifting as an alternative to hydraulics. The project is limited to applying the gearbox and gear rack on a forklift with a lifting capacity of ten tons.The main tool in this project will be the product development process Systems Engineering where only the most relevant parts will be used to develop a concept.

The purpose of this study is to get an idea of how active teachers in various stages are defining and working with values in their activities, and to highlight the similarities and differences in the way that they are working on this in the various stages. Qualitative interviews with teachers in preschool, primary education and recreational centres are the basis of the results.The study provides an overview of previous research in the area, and has a theoretical basis in Vygotskys sociocultural theory. The results show that respondents believe that the definition of values lays in relational values, which show us how to behave against fellow human beings. The way to work with value education proves to be different among educators, and we can divide them into different camps based on their attitude to value education. These attitudes are shown to be of importance for how the value education is designed..

The aim of this study is to, by developing ideal types, describe why studententrepreneurs participate in self organised business network. The investigation is based on answers from 41 participants in the business network ?Företagare på Lnu?, as well astwo semi-focused groups, which where analysed by using Webers (1978) ideal types.The investigation shows that there are several reasons for student entrepreneurs to participate in self organised business network. For instance some people participate to gather knowledge from other student entrepreneurs for their own future, since they have an idea of soon starting their own business. Enligt forskning skiljer sig den yngre generationens värderingar och krav gentemot tidigare generationer vilket också innebär att det har skett ett skifte i vilka faktorer som motiverar och attraherar dessa. Dagens arbetsgivare står inför svårigheten att uppfatta och skaffa sig insikt om vad den nya generationen, som är på väg in på arbetsmarknaden, motiveras och attraheras av. Det finns en mängd TV-program i olika kanaler som riktar sig mot barnen som publik och många studier är gjorda om innehållet i olika barnprogram, men mycket litet är skrivet om relationen mellan barn och TV-sport. Temat för den här uppsatsen är att från ett medievetenskapligt perspektiv beskriva vad innehållet i ett barnprogram som Lilla Sportspegeln kan berätta om vårt samhälles syn på sport, barn och kön. Genom att studera innehållet i 5 avsnitt av programmet har material till en innehållsanalys samlats in.För att göra materialet hanterbart har analysen tematiserats i 3 huvudområden : kollektiva identiteter och relationer mellan generation och mellan genus, i syfte att försöka förstå och synliggöra hur programinnehållet förmedlar en sportideologi som kan ha betydelse för hur vi uppfattar barn och sport.Med hjälp av medieteorier från bl a John B Thompson, lyfts mediernas betydelse för ideologireproduktion fram. Detta kommuniceras av TV-mediet med hjälp av vissa symboliska former i en viss kontext, dvs Lilla Sportspegelns framställningsform.
