The goal of this Master?s thesis is to explore the approach and general attitude of public libraries regarding Sign Language Literature. There is a need to study and advance how the deaf can find ways to read in their own language, as it is as important to them to be able to read in their language, as it is to the next hearing person. The purpose is to define and explain the full capacity of the problem. In the process of research, by investigating how library staff approaches and deal with deaf patrons, the nature of the patron-staff relationship is revealed.

New methods to deal with mental and physical health problems among people can indicate to the fact that Yoga in the western world has increased its members, due its spiritual and physical recognition in favor of well being.

Seabased Industry AB develops system for extracting electrical energy from ocean waves with a Wave Energy Converter (WEC). The components is bought from subcontractors and then assembled into wave energy converters, buoys and marine substations by Seabased. In the future Seabased will produce more of the components themselves to reduce costs and to have better control over tolerances. The production line will also include the painting of the WECs and substations, which is performed in a painting line.The purpose of this thesis work is to study what is required to build a painting line, regarding the types of stations, transporting types and the space needed. This will result in layouts for the painting line.To receive the necessary information about production theory and corrosion and surface treatment, literature concerning this area has been studied.

The ferry traffic to Gotland is essential for the island?s ability to live and develop. Yearly, it transports 1,6 million passengers, 500 000 personal vehicles and 750 000 lane meters of freight with four Ro-Pax ferries. The traffic is controlled and subsidized by the Swedish government since 1971 in order to guarantee the inhabitants and industry of Gotland a satisfactory transportation service. As a consequence of the past decades increased traffic quality, mainly due to a decrease in crossing times, the traffic?s environmental impact and costs has also increased.The Master Thesis proposes a new energy efficient traffic arrangement that satisfies the users? preferences in the same extent as today.

Enheten tillverkar och tillhandahåller trådlösa och optiska transmissionssystem. På grund av häftiga marknadssvängningar, som stundtals genererar så pass hög orderinläggning att vissa underleverantörer har svårigheter att leverera enligt överkommelse, uppstår materialbrist och leveransförseningar. Denna omständighet och det faktum att vissa kunder inte tillhandahåller Ericsson några prognoser, leder till omfattande omplaneringar som i sin tur medför extra arbete som inte tillför kunden något mervärde. Syftet med examensarbetet har därför varit att kartlägga kundorderprocessen samt huvudplaneringens arbetsrutiner för att sedan analysera och framställa eventuella förbättringsförslag för att reducera antalet omplaneringar.

SUMMARY The interest of horses in the riding sector has increased the last decades. A large amount of horses are transported in a 1 or 2-horse trailer, which is pulled by a car. Today a large number of different products and designs of trailers can be found on the market. The difference in shaping of trailers depends on tradition and experience. There are no detailed directions on the demands for shaping of horse trailers today. The literature review contains a market analysis of both Swedish and imported horse trailers.

SecRePac is a household appliance that simplifies sorting of packaging such as milk, juice and yogurt containers. By shredding the packages SecRePac reduces its volume uptake both in the home and at the recycling station. This leads to minimization of both transports to the recycling stations and truck transport for emptying the containers at the recycling station.The greenhouse effect deteriorates and becomes worse and worse leading to extreme climate changes and natural disasters such as floods as an example. Carbon dioxide emissions are the major reason for this and at least 30 percent of all these emissions come directly from transports. In the EU carbon emissions has decreased in the past few years.

Work has a great influence on most of individuals in society. It influences both identity as well as the structure of the day. Unemployed people are often affected in a negative way through economic and psychological problems. In order to help people with reduced work capacity back to the labour market and decrease unemployment, the Labour Market Board works with vocational rehabilitation. The aim of this study is to investigate experiences of vocational rehabilitation within the Labour Market Board among unemployed people.

Domesticeringsprocessen innebär bland annat en beteendemässig förändring hos djur genom avel och skiljer sig från tämjning då tamhet innebär att en individ under sin livstid lär sig beteenden som gör den hanterbar av människan. Syftet med det här arbetet är att ta reda på när, varför och hur renen blev domesticerad och ifall något annat djur hade kunnat ersätta renen som husdjur. Renen (Rangifer tarandus), som lever i världens nordligaste delar, har varit en viktig födokälla för människan sedan stenåldern. Det finns bevis på att renen används som transport- och mjölkdjur sedan åtminstone 5000 år tillbaka, vilket kan vara början till dess domesticering. Vissa författare menar dock att det var först senare, på medeltiden när samerna började övergå till storskalig betesdrift (pastoralism), som domesticeringsprocessen började. Att man övergick till ett pastoralt system berodde främst på ekonomiska förändringar i Skandinavien och Ryssland.

Denna undersökning söker nå förståelse för lojalitet i förhållande till arbetsplatsen när man jämför Generation Y med Baby Boomers. Tidigare forskning visar att lojalitet är ett multidimensionellt begrepp som kan ha olika riktningar och att flera faktorer har ett samband med lojalitet. Tidigare forskning kring generationsskillnader och lojalitet är begränsad men många studier tyder på att Generation Y är mindre lojala än Baby Boomers. Undersökningen är gjord på Veolia Transport och bygger på djupintervjuer med fyra Baby Boomers tunneltågförare och tre från Generation Y. I resultatet framkom trivsel, motivation, bild av företaget, ledarskapet och organisationskultur som viktiga faktorer för lojalitet, och undersökningsdeltagarna från Generation Y tenderade att vara mindre lojala, ha kortare tidsperspektiv på sin anställning och ett mer individualiserat förhållningssätt till lojalitet än de från Baby Boomers.

I denna rapport studeras intermodala transportsystem i Sverige. Projektet äruppbyggt i tre huvuddelar. Först en inledande del med allmän beskrivning av logistikoch dess koppling till transporter. Därefter en beskrivande del av intermodala system,deras uppbyggnad och olika ingående transportsätt. Den avslutande delen är enfallstudie gjort i Göteborgs hamn för att studera hamnens logistiklösning.

För att förhindra övergödning används skyddszoner i stora delar av Sverige där jordbruk utförs. Det finns även andra faktorer som kan bidra till, eller förhindra, förluster av sediment via fluviala element i landskapet. Variationer i ett vattendrags omland påverkar hur den fluviala transporten av sediment ser ut. Syftet med den här studien är att kartlägga vilka faktorer som kan påverka hur transporten av upplöst sediment ser ut i Librobäckens nedre delar. Hur variationer i omgivningsmiljön skulle kunna skapa variationer i transporten av upplöst sediment.

People spend much of their timeat work and health is affected by how we experience our everyday work situation. Health in the workplace is important for public health and seems to improve the occupational health of theemployees. The pace of work and requirements have hasincreased at work and it's not equal accepted to have an obstacle that makesyour work capacity decreases. Despite this, there are health factors that enable us meet therequirements and can maintaingood health in the workplace. Theaim of the studywas to see if there has beena change in healthcare workers work-related health over time.

The Swedish armed forces has for many years educated squad leaders by letting them start their training two and a half months before the soldiers start their training. 2007, this system was used for the last time. I went trough this system myself in 2005 and had a positive experience and when I did my internship I experienced a slight difference in the attitude of the squad leader. I talked with my colleges at the company and they had felt the same. This essay will try to analyse if the squad leaders has lost any of there ability and if so, what could be the cause? To analyze the ability of the squad leader in this essay it will first analyze their ability through the Direct leadership theory, which is the theory that is presently used in the Swedish armed forces.

Sandvik Process Systems är en del av Sandvik AB och tillverkar plåtband med varierande egenskaper för en mängd olika användningsområden. Under bearbetning är plåtbandet sammansvetsat, när önskade egenskaper erhållits klipps bandet av och rullas ihop för vidare transport till kund. Klippningen utförs med en rullsax som i dagsläget har svårigheter med tjockare och hållfastare plåtband. Syftet med detta examensarbete är att utreda dessa svårigheter och utveckla ett koncept som eliminerar dem. En mängd olika metoder har använts vid analyseringen av rullsaxen. Ramen har analyserats både i Pro/Mechanica och i dess arbetsmiljö.
