Uppsatsen är baserad på en fallstudie gjord på Tetra Pak. Syftet med fallstudien var att utforma en lista med faktorer att som bör beaktas för att ett införande av ett Competence Management-system ska bli framgångsrikt. Tillvägagångssättet i fallstudien har varit en dokumentstudie och ett antal intervjuer. Använda teorier är hämtade från områdena Change Management, Knowledge Management, Competence Management och Human Resource Management. Undersökning resulterade i ett antal intressanta faktorer som bör beaktas.

The purpose of this BA-thesis was to study how three daily Swedish newspapers use a specific type of exemplars, which are recognized by a number of attributes. A photograph of the person that is interviewed always illustrates this type of exemplars and at least two persons are asked the same question.    The three newspapers that have been compared in this study each represent one of the major types of Swedish newspapers: morning press, tabloids and local press. By using a quantitative content analysis, one month was examined in all three newspapers in the year of 1997 and 2007.  Two of the theories that have been central in the thesis are Colin Sparks model of tabloidization, which demonstrates the process of tabloidization and McQuail?s description of commercialization.

Detta är en kvalitativ studie som behandlar relationen mellan sociala medier och rekrytering, så kallad social rekrytering. Vi har genomfört intervjuer med personer från företag och offentliga organisationer kring deras användande av social rekrytering. Vi har även intervjuat fyra professionella aktörer som arbetar med sociala medier, kommunikation och Human resources, med avsikten att få en djupare inblick i hur sociala medier bör och kan användas i rekryteringssammanhang. Vi kopplade våra intervjuresultat till teorier kring bland annat rekrytering, sociala medier och employer branding.Studiens frågeställningar berörde hur företagen och de offentliga organisationerna möter social rekrytering samt hur de använder social rekrytering idag. De professionella aktörerna besvarade frågor kring hur de ser på samspelet mellan rekrytering och sociala medier.

This study's interest area loops around how it is possible to understand texts' leverage over Human thinking and acting. Focus lies on understanding which forces that form people?s views around men and women's relationships and relations in the public room. From this perspective our interest is to explore how the phenomenon rape is expressed in texts and how we can understand how rape through these texts are to be shaped in individuals' thoughts awareness and. Finally, it is also relevant to create understanding for how rape as a discoursive practice can have effects on individuals and society.

This master thesis is an attempt to study the interface in itself, where the Human meets the machine and the problems that can arise. I study a particular interface, namely the OPAC of Libra III. In 1999 IFLA presented recommendations for what an OPAC shall contain, and in one part of my master thesis I compare Libra III with these recommendations from my opinion. In another part of my master thesis I make an investigation where I let five by me chosen persons answer some questions from me, both by doing and verbally. I draw the conclusion that Libra III follows most of the recommendations of IFLA in a sufficient way.

This essay explores the intertextual qualities in and between Kristian Lundberg?s works Yarden, Mörkret skulle vara som ljuset and Och allt skall vara kärlek. Read as a trilogy, it bears a thematic resemblance to Dante Alighieri?s Divine Comedy; an autofictional depiction of emancipation from alienation by grace. To reach this conclusion, I use Julia Kristeva?s theory of intertextuality and Roland Barthes? post-structuralist differention of Work and Text together with his notion of the Paper-Author.

The phenomenology of Gaston Bachelard holds that readers, or viewers, relate to spatial imagery through the use of age-old archetypes. These archetypes form a collective image-memory that is employed when reading space. One such image is the house. The house for Bachelard is, however, never solely an image, but constitutes a familiar space that becomes inscribed in our bodies through the repeated physical contact with this domestic space. The house teaches us to interact with space, and comes to inform the way that Human beings understand images of space.

The purpose of this essay is to analyze the media coverage of the case with Martin Schibbye and Johan Persson in the four biggest newspapers in Sweden in order to see how social constructions is created through the use of language. It is also of interest to see how nationality is represented in the material. The theory is based on Edward Said?s theory of post colonialism and the prejudices that has developed from the western way of viewing ?The orient?. It is also based on Richard Dyers theory on whiteness and binary oppositions, which shows how ?whiteness? is viewed as the norm and is also never questioned.The method is critical linguistics and based on Norman Fairclough and Michael Halliday.

Kompetensutveckling för de anställda inom den kommunala omsorgen är ett ämne som varit på agendan i den offentliga debatten de senaste åren. För ett par år sedan genomfördes ett större kompetensutvecklingsprojekt för de anställda inom verksamhetsområdet omsorg om funktionshindrade i Stockholms stad. Följande studie tog sin utgångspunkt ur nämnda projekt och syftade till att undersöka vad som motiverade vårdare inom omsorgen om funktionshindrade att ta del av kompetensutveckling alternativt välja att avstå. Sex personer intervjuades för studien och materialet genomgick en tematisk analys. Resultatet visade att de främsta motiven till att ta del av kompetensutveckling var det personliga intresset samt att utöka sina kunskaper i yrket för att kunna utföra ett bättre arbete.

Antalet frivilliga ökar alltmer och därmed ställs det alltfler krav på frivilligledare/ledare inom ideella organisationer. Min förförståelse är att ledare inom ideella organisationer ska värna om de frivilliga, motivera, ?hålla lågan uppe? och stödja ?eldsjälarna?. Då det inte finns mycket skrivet om hur frivilligledare/ledare inom Röda Korset går tillväga för att leda frivilliga, är syftet med studien att belysa hur ledare inom en ideell organisation, Röda Korset, ?leder? de frivilliga som ingår i organisationen och hur ledarna ser på sitt ledarskap.

Personer som arbetar med Human resource (HR) har ett samarbete med cheferna i organisationen. Föreliggande studie är kvalitativ, där personer som arbetar med HR beskriver bra ledarskap och hur de verkar för bra ledarskap inom organisationen, vilket även var studiens syfte att undersöka. Resultatet baserades på halvstrukturerade djupintervjuer med sex HR-personer. Resultaten tolkades genom en kombination av deduktiv och induktiv tematisk analys. Studien resulterade i åtta teman gällande beskrivning av bra ledarskap, vilka i diskussionen strukturerades upp till tre faktorer; personlig mognad, social kompetens och chefsförmåga.

This thesis explores different ways of navigation in virtual environments. It also investigates how virtual environments can support Human memory. Tests are done using a self made virtual model of Orkanen Library, Malmö högskolas school library. Among the different navigation tests that were done, a visual guidance in form of a line on the ground leading to the goal is showed superior when navigating a virtual environment but that people prefer legible landmarks instead. Tests were also done which show that a 3D-model of a real location supports context based memory.

Mass media is becoming more and more personalized and despite common ideas it could actually be a good thing. Instead of affecting the actual content of news coverage it might only have an effect on the way in which news are presented. Famous politicians more regularly become symbols and synonyms for their parties or for the government and are being used to create interest in the beginning of articles.Those are the results from a content analysis of the newspaper coverage of the Swedish parliamentary election in 1976 and 2006 in which the scientist categorized each article in one of four ideal types, counted quotes and analyzed whether personal names were interchangeable with party names without affecting the content. All three methods showing that it is the presentation, not the content, which has been personalized.At the same time, psychology-science tells us about the Human brains associative learning processes, where memorizing becomes far more efficient when the information can be connected to an already known person. Increased personalization of news might therefore increase the political knowledge of the receivers..

The aim of this paper is to examine the layout of public spaces and its effect on Human behavior with focus on the relation between pedestrians and cyclists movement patterns in a specific path. The study emanates from the security aspect of pedestrians and cyclists, and builds upon previous theories and empirical studies about perception, security, information design, environmental psychology and behavior. The result shows that individual behavior and movement pattern differs with age, purpose, physical- and other conditions, and layout of the surroundings. A design proposal for improved layout of a path and a node between different oncoming paths has been developed to aid the users? needs, where a separation of walkways and bike lanes forms zones of security for the purpose of better orientation and a better flow between the users..

Historically, the horse has in many ways been important to Human beings. Today, Equine Assisted Therapy is a form of treatment in which the horse is used as a tool from the treatment of the client. Supported Equine therapy has a therapeutic purpose and may vary depending on the patient's needs and the professionals work competence. Various studies show that animals have a positive impact on people. The aim of our study was to explore how Equine Assisted Therapy is used within the practical fields of social work in Sweden.
