"Alla ska få se ut som de vill och bli älskade ändå" : en kvantitativ studie om tjejer, deras upplevelse av påverkan samt kroppsideal

The aim of this bachelor thesis has been to investigate what affected the body ideals of teenage Girls attending the Swedish upper secondary school and thus, the questions for the investigation were: Who/what ?gives? teenage Girls their body ideals today and what is considered as an influence of these young teenage Girls today with regard to their perception of their own body? The theoretical perspective on the thesis were symbolic interactionism, Gidden's theory on "late"-modernity as well as Ziehe's theory on reflexivity. A quantitative survey were conducted where questionnaires were the starting point. For convenience and simplicity , the author chose to perform the survey on a number of high schools in her vicinity. The headmasters in these schools were contacted and she got the contact infomation for the concerned teachers or the school social pedagogue.

The purpose of this work was to observe fifth grade students in their creative work, how they act and how gender roles appear in the creative work. The background to this work is that I want to examine whether there is any difference in gender roles, when students are working creatively and on their compliance with, the sexes, typical similarities and differences that exist.Observational study showed that Girls and boys in the class I observed, in general, has followed traditional gender patterns that exist in our society. With typical gender patterns, I mean that Girls are expected to be quiet, talented and helpful and the boys are expected to speak loud and more often than the Girls. The Girls were, on balance, quieter and more tranquil than the boys who had difficulties to sit still and wanted to be seen and heard more widely..

Summary:Teenage Girls? choice of dropping out or complete a treatment.The purpose of this study is to investigate, from a client?s perspective, why teenage Girls (age 13 to 17) drop-out or complete a treatment at Familjehuset in Karlstad, Sweden. We also want to investigate if the teenage Girls? experiences coordinate with the social workers opinion of why the teenage Girls choose to drop-out or complete the treatment. Earlier research shows that many factors influence the client?s choice.

This essay studied how six Girls experienced their reading development during their college education in male-dominated profession programs. The issues assumed were how they experience their literature reading and literature education and what happened with their interest in reading. The theoretical frame included researchers Säljö, Rosenblatt, Gun Malmgren, Olin-Scheller, Ulfgaard and Molloy.The study showed that most of the Girls felt their reading had worsened but not because of their male classmates but because of school. They had a lot of homework and participated in so many different school projects which would be completed that there was no time to reading for pleasure. The Girls did not like the teachers? literate sample and did not like the methods used in learning literature.

Språkmönster i elevtexter : En undersökning av elevtexter ur ett genusperspektiv

The aim with this study is to conduct a text analysis of 40 texts from www.skrivbanken.se . The texts were written by fifteen year old boys and Girls in the school subject Swedish. The texts were analyzed from a gender perspective. The differences in contents, the use of concepts, attitudes towards the imposed information and formality were examined.. The theoretical background on expectations on gender roles was used to construct a framework for analyzing the text. The result shows that there were more differences between the individuals in every sex group rather than between the two groups.

The overall aim of the study was to give an insight into the life of a girl attending a program for preparation for further studies. More explicitly it is the aim of this study to examine what line the Girls take to and how they experience support in school and if the offered support is adjusted to the needs of the Girls?.To capture the complexity of the Girls? experiences a world view approach was used. To be able to take part of the Girls? experiences, a qualitative survey method was chosen, built upon individual half structured interviews with six Girls attending the last year of upper secondary school.

How do gender and socioeconomic backgrounds affect students? academic performance, educational choices and attitudes towards education? Moreover, does class play the same role for Girls and boys? In order to find this out, I surveyed students in a small province located in the northern inlands of Sweden. The survey was answered by nearly every student in the ninth grade of that year, a total of 160 people. The results revealed that Girls in this area have less faith in their capabilities than boys, despite getting much better grades. Many more Girls than boys want to go onto college or university studies.

The purpose of my work is to study what attitude pupils with immigrant background as well as native pupils have towards the subject Physical Education (PE). An other purpose with my work is to contribute in a way that all newly graduated PE teachers think of making the subject PE to a subject that all pupils regardless gender or background can get advantage of.During the whole work I compare pupils with immigrant background to native pupils and boys to Girls. The reason why I compared boys to Girls is that I want to study how satisfied Girls are compared to boys when it has to do with the subject PE. I consider that boys take more and more space in PE lessons.The method I have used is both interviews and surveys. I chose a school in Stockholm.

This study is about young Girls' mental health. In Sweden, the mental health deteriorated in recent years among adolescents, particularly among young Girls. Results of the Liv & Hälsa Ung in 2011 in the southern part of the county of Örebro is the basis for the study. The results of the survey showed that a remarkable number of young Girls rate their mental health as poor. The purpose of this study was to examine what young Girls in southern part of the county of Örebro County believes are contributing factors for good mental health and the method used is qualitative.

Kvinnors upplevelser av att leva med ADHD: En kvalitativ studie

Abstract: The purpose of the study was to analyze the experience of being a woman diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. Another aim was to analyze how the women think itwould have influenced them, if they had been diagnosed during childhood.In the study, with a qualitatively approach, three women diagnosed with ADHD were interviewed. The data was analyzed with qualitative content analysis.The result shows that the women perceived affirmation when they received their diagnosis but they also pointed out that they had wished to receive the diagnose during childhood to avoid unnecessary suffering.The conclusion of the study was that it is essential to, as early as possible, follow up deviances in children and adolescents. Therefore, there is a need for more knowledge of how symptoms of ADHD in Girls present itself.It is reasonable to believe that if healthcare and school have increased knowledge of symptoms of ADHD in Girls, then these Girls would be diagnosed at an earlier time.Keywords:ADHD,women,Girls,treatment,self?esteem.

This master thesis is discussing ten pony books from 2006 in relation to the heterosexual matrix. It contains a rather extensive research overview regarding horse riding from a gender perspective, pony books, traditional feminist studies of Girls? books and queer readings of Girls? and children?s literature. The aim of the empirical study is two folded; firstly to show how the girl protagonists? horse riding is presented in terms of masculinity and femininity (as defined by Natalie Koivula), secondly to analyze the relations between the Girls appearing in the books from a queer perspective attempting to find some queer leakage in the depictions.

The aim of this study was to examine if biological early maturing Girls and Girls that percieved that boys treated them as older than they actually where drank more alcohol, were more delinquent, had more romantic relationships and sexual intercourse. Our data was collected from seven schools in Sweden. Significant relationships where found between early maturation and all four dependent variables. Significant relationships could also bee seen between how Girls perceived that boys treated them and alcohol use, romantic relationships and sexual intercourse. For two of our dependent measures we found week interaction effects, for Girls biological maturation and there perception of how boys treated them according to there age.
