Abstract The purpose of the study is to examine how children perceive the relation between play and sex and analyse it from a gender perspective. This by answering the questions: "Is the children?s choice of place, materials and company in play dependent on gender?" and "Is there a significant difference between the sexes and/or ages?" The study was done through twelve focusgroup interviews with three children in each group except two groups of two children in each. Eight boys and nine Girls of six years old and nine boys and eight Girls of nine years old were interviewed. Boys and Girls were interviewed in separate groups and the questions were open ended and followed up.

The purpose of this study was to examine six Girls and boys in grade 4 use of adjectives in narrative texts and examine students' perception and experience of writing from a gender perspective. The methods used were text analysis and an interview. The results showed that Girls write more adjectives than boys, but no further significant difference in their use of adjectives was found. There was a certain stereotypical difference in which adjectives they wrote and their attitudes toward writing. Girls are more positive to writing and see writing primarily important for school, while boys think writing is important to succeed in life..

Unga tjejers våldsbenägenhet vid konsumtion av alkohol

The purpose on this study is to determine the extent of possible connections between tendencies to increased violent behavior and increased alcohol consumption among a total cohort of Girls in the 9th grade compulsory school and 2nd grade upper secondary school in a Swedish county. In 2004 the Epidemiological Department carried out a health-status survey, using a self-report questionnaire, with students from both private and public schools in a specific county in Sweden. All respondents (N= ca 4000), attending all compulsory (at 9th grade) and upper secondary schools (second tier) on the survey date completed the questionnaire. For this particular study, 9 questions from the questionnaire, all concerning self-reported violent behavior and alcohol consumption habits were used either individually or combined in index variables. The result showed that while violence experience is low among these 4000 Girls, it increased in relation to a corresponding increase in alcohol consumption.

A considerable number young of students are suffering from sociopsychological complaints. The psychological complaints emerge from differnt sources. Important factors for psychological well being are experiences of a satisfactory social network, efficient coping strategies and a supportive school climate.The aim of this study was to examine how young Girls in the age of 16-18 years old experience and cope with demands from school. To fulfill the aim of this study we have five questions: What do the Girls apprehend as a satisfactory/unsatisfactory working environment? How do the Girls define stress? How do the Girls cope with stress? What importance has leisure time? What importance has the social network? The method we used for this study was qualitative and the material was collected through four focus groups.

Sjuksköterskors och läkares uppfattning om postoperativ vård av barn och ungdomar efter neurokirugisk operation

Abstract: The purpose of the study was to analyze the experience of being a woman diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. Another aim was to analyze how the women think itwould have influenced them, if they had been diagnosed during childhood.In the study, with a qualitatively approach, three women diagnosed with ADHD were interviewed. The data was analyzed with qualitative content analysis.The result shows that the women perceived affirmation when they received their diagnosis but they also pointed out that they had wished to receive the diagnose during childhood to avoid unnecessary suffering.The conclusion of the study was that it is essential to, as early as possible, follow up deviances in children and adolescents. Therefore, there is a need for more knowledge of how symptoms of ADHD in Girls present itself.It is reasonable to believe that if healthcare and school have increased knowledge of symptoms of ADHD in Girls, then these Girls would be diagnosed at an earlier time.Keywords:ADHD,women,Girls,treatment,self?esteem.

Leksaker : Fem föräldrar reflekterar kring leksaker

In this study I have explored five parents reasoning about toys, from a gender perspective. During the interviews, we have reasoned about toys that are made for Girls and for boys, what the differences are, and what advantages and disadvantages there might be for children to play with a variation of toys, made for both genders. The results of the study show that most of the participants are more accepting for Girls playing with toys made for boys than the other way around, which indicates that boys? experience of the world might be somewhat limited, while Girls have easier access to toys made for both genders..

ABSTRACTOur work deals with antisocial behavior among elementary school students between 7 and 16years in the school environment. The aim of our study was to examine how school personnelare experiencing antisocial behavior among students from a gender perspective. We were alsointerested to find out what the school's staff has of the experience of the differences andsimilarities between Girls 'and boys' antisocial behavior. We used gender theory, when weanalyzed our individual responses to interview questions. We made six qualitative interviewswith low-and high school teachers, assistant principals, counselors and special educationteachers training in Kalmar County.

The purpose of this study was to investigate a group of teenage Girls and their relation to clothes by using the theories about habitus and different types of capital by the French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu. We have used semiotics since we also wanted to know what clothes symbolized for our respondents. The questions were therefore:1. The purpose of this essay was to increase the knowledge of and understanding about how teenage Girls form their attiutdes towards sexuality and relations. The focus has been on discussing the research-question from four factors of influence chosen by the writers; sexual education, media, friends and family. Our intention with the study was also to take part of the teenageGirls´thoughts, attitudes and opinions in the matter, which is to keep the discussion on a structural level. The study is based on qualitativ interviews, in so called focusgroups, with all toghether eight Girls in the ages 14-15 years, students in the ninth grade. The study has a postmodern feministic approach combined with a fenomenological and hermeneutic position.

En explorativ studie av TIL-programmet : Fem små berättelser av föräldrarnas upplevelser

This essay studied how six Girls experienced their reading development during their college education in male-dominated profession programs. The issues assumed were how they experience their literature reading and literature education and what happened with their interest in reading. The theoretical frame included researchers Säljö, Rosenblatt, Gun Malmgren, Olin-Scheller, Ulfgaard and Molloy.The study showed that most of the Girls felt their reading had worsened but not because of their male classmates but because of school. They had a lot of homework and participated in so many different school projects which would be completed that there was no time to reading for pleasure. The Girls did not like the teachers? literate sample and did not like the methods used in learning literature.

Motiv till att fortsätta föreningsidrotta : En enkätstudie om 13 till 18-åriga föreningsidrottande flickor

Pupils, and most of all Girls, drop out of organized sports in the ages 13-18. The purpose of this survey was to study which motives Girls had to proceed in sports together with differences between certain groups. This study was based on a survey which included 86 responses from Girls active in sports in 10 different compounds. The results showed that the most frequent motives to do sports were to have fun and to feel well. Differences showed were that the ones who trained more often and the ones who practiced more than one sport found that to work hard was an important motive, compared to the other groups.

Hedersrelaterat våld och förtryck : en kvalitativ studie om professionellas erfarenheter av utslussning från skyddat boende

The aim of this study was to understand how social workers deal with honour-related violence, with special focus on the processing from sheltered housing. Our qualitative interviews with social workers that work with this kind of problems show that there are both obstacles and opportunities in the processing from sheltered housing. On the negative side are the loneliness, the shame and the guilt that the Girls may experience when they need to leave their families. The social services can both be an obstacles and an opportunity. When the Girls need to create a new life in a new city they have a lot of opportunities and in the same time it is hard to get to know new friends when you don´t know the city or have much money.
