Breakdowns of welded structures are usually a consequence of fatigue loading. Fatigue fractures are commonly initiated in the region close to the weld toe but can also initiate from the weld root and from discontinuities inside the weld. The purpose of this investigation was to examine the weld quality of welded joints produced at Volvo Wheel Loaders factory in Arvika. The goal of the investigation is to give a clearer insight regarding factors influencing the fatigue strength of the welded joints and thereby give a better foundation for fatigue strength calculations.The investigation is including examination of the weld geometry, weld discontinuities and the effects of shot peening. Mainly three different methods for collecting test data have been used: Plastic replicas cast on the weld profile, weld specimens from a rear frame belonging to a wheel loader of model L110E/120E and Almen testing of the shot peening.The results showed that it is not possible to control even transition between the weld material and the base material without after treatment.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att beskriva och analysera olika möjligheter för ett mindre åkeriföretag att förändra sin verksamhet. Får man större konkurrenskraft genom att utöka verksamheten genom en Fusion eller är en ren speditionsverksamhet att föredra?För att uppfylla detta syfte har jag valt att ta hjälp av en SWOT-analys och ett så kallat Service Management System. SWOT-analysen är till för att identifiera styrkor och svagheter inom företaget och möjligheter och hot i företagets omvärld. Detta har sedan legat till grunden för ett Service Management System som består av ett antal variabler som är viktiga i ett tjänsteföretag.Studien har gjorts på ett litet åkeri i södra Sverige.

The main purpose of this master thesis is to investigate the information seeking of lay politicians, part-time politicians and professional politicians in connection with the possible upcoming Fusion of the two administrative regions, Västra Götaland and Värmland. The focus of this study has been to study how politicians use and evaluate information and sources of information, and to investigate if there are any differences in how different categories of politicians seek information. Seven politicians were interviewed using semi-structured questions, and a phenomenographic approach was used to analyze the data. In Sweden there are few available studies of how politician seek information, but some international studies have focused on information needs, information sources, selection and evaluation of information. I have used previous research, and data from respondents to compile and analyze my results in three descriptive categories.

Cyanobacteria belong to the oldest organisms of our planet. They use photosynthesis to produce ATP and gain biomass from carbon dioxide. The cyanobacteria Nostoc punctiforme is a filamentous bacterium that consists of two different types of cells, vegetative cells and heterocysts. The type of cell it differentiates into depends on the media they grow in. In an ammonium-rich medium, the N.punctiforme consists of vegetative cells that differentiate into heterocysts when in the medium is changed to a low-concentration ammonium medium.

Improvisation är ett ämne som många både studerar och utövar men det är ofta svårt att hitta mer generella strategier för att improvisera som visar hur själva improvisationsprocessen går till. Syftet med studien är att hitta de strategier jag använder mig av när jag improviserar. Genom att analysera ett solo jag spelar och leta efter; de förutsättningar som påverkar improvisationen, strategier jag använder och förhållningssätt jag har till improvisation klargör den här studien en del av vad det innebär att improvisera fram musik. Den metod jag använt är videoinspelning där jag spelat in ett uppspel som jag anser är den naturliga miljö för mig att improvisera i. Det teoretiska perspektiv jag använt är fenomenologi.

Målet på en av ortopedklinikerna i Västra Götalandsregionen är en vårdtid på högst sju dagar för de patienter som genomgår planerad instrumenterad steloperation i ländryggen på grund av spinal stenos. Bakgrund. Faktorer som påverkar patienten är bland annat hemoglobinvärde före och efter kirurgi och nutritionsstatus. Kontinuitet gällande antal sjuksköterskor involverade i vården av den enskilde patienten har visats ha betydelse för vårdkvaliteten.

This study aims to investigate and describe the direction of the ideological development of the Swedish gymnastics association Gymniska Förbundet. Between 1928 and 1932, this organization transformed from a purely gymnastic and cultural association into an influential platform for the production of Swedish nationalist ideology. Based on theories of National Socialism?s formation within modern society, the analysis focus on the conditions regulating Gymniska Förbundets relation to modernity. Thus the study examines the association?s ideas in relationship to the concept of modernity.

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to examine the growth of the library in Vaggeryd. We have analysed how four factors influenced the library development during the years between 1862 and 1953. The four factors we have studied are development of society, collective actors, librarys economy and individual actors. We have worked with the following question: · How have the four factors: development of society, collective actors, librarys economy and individual actors, influenced the growth? We have focused on the changes that the industrialization brought on the society development, and on the growing of the non-governmental organisations.

Bakgrund och problem:Företagsförvärv är en process som ständigt förekommer i vårat näringsliv och som nästan dagligen omnämns i media. Trots detta stora antal förvärv som sker är företagsledningarnas kunskap omkring integrationsprocessen av företagen ofta bristfällig. Sammanslagningen av företagen är många gånger det som skapar mervärdet vid ett förvärv. Tids-, kommunikations- och företagskultursperspektiven anses vara de främsta framgångsfaktorerna vid en integration.Syfte: Denna studie kommer att granska dessa tre perspektiv för att skapa en ökad förståelse för dem, samt för att generera kunskap om själva integrationsprocessen.Metod: Fyra ledande konsultföretag som arbetar med integration har intervjuas för att återspegla deras syn på perspektiven och integrationsprocessen.Resultat och slutsats: Intervjuerna gav en djupare insikt i och ökad förståelse för integrationsprocessen. Med hjälp av tidigare forskning resulterade undersökningen i tre nya modeller som beskrev samt tydliggjorde företagsledningens optimala förhållandesätt gentemot de enskilda perspektiven.

The purpose of the thesis is to describe the developing of the branch libraries of the public library of Kristianstad between the years of 1967 and 1977. The municipality of Kristianstad was grounded by a unification of the city of Kristianstad and ten small municipalities. The Fusion takes place in three different stages during the years of 1967, 1971 and 1974. The first stage included the city of Kristianstad and the municipalities of Araslöv, Nosaby, Träne and Vä. The municipality of Araslöv got free small villages and village of Färlöv was the biggest one.

SammanfattningEfter en ökad konkurrenssituation på tidningsmarknaden i nordvästra Skåne bestämde sig familjen Sommelius och familjen Ander för att starta ett samarbete. Det resulterade i att deras tre tidningar Helsingborgs Dagblad, Nordvästra Skånes Tidningar och Landskrona Posten slogs samman.Syftet med studien ?Efter Fusionen? var att göra en uppföljning av Börje Alström och Lars Nords studie ?Den skånska modellen?. De tittade bland annat på innehållet ur mångfaldssynpunkt i Helsingborgs Dagblad, Landskrona Posten och Nordvästra Skånes Tidningar 2001 och 2002, före och omedelbart efter sammanslagningen. Utöver detta studerade vi även hur stor andel av de tre tidningarnas material som är unikt i dag.Vi kom fram till att den inre mångfalden i de lokala nyhetsartiklarna ser ungefär likadan ut 2009 som den gjorde före och omedelbart efter Fusionen, men med några undantag.

The interest in harvesting wood fuel in conflict stands has grown in recent years as a consequence of the increased demand for biofuel. Conflict stands are young forests that have not been cleaned and have a large number of stems ha-1with a great height and diameter distribution. This means that traditional field measurements in conflict stands are difficult and very time consuming. Therefore, the forestry sector is in need of new, more efficient inventory methods. In this study, the Lidar data from Lantmäteriet?s (the Swedish mapping, cadastral and land registration authorities) new national height model was used in combination with plots from the Swedish national forest inventory from 2009 to create functions for; height, volume, diameter and number of stems.

This thesis examines the established theories on the phenomena of merger of equals. In contrast to an acquisition, a merger of equals is complex since the very nature of it entails that none of the involved parties are in control. Merger of equals are therefore viewed as one of the most difficult types of partnership and data show that over fourty percent of all mergers fail to achieve their targets. Still, research on the phenomena is limited. The main purpose of this thesis is to analyse the implicit factors to why a merger of equals fail.

The purpose of this thesis is to describe and analyse the development of the public library in the district of Österåker during a period of 1958-1983. The main goals have been to identify the crucial events in the history of the library within their historical context and to analyse the factors that have been important for the development: financing, location, staffing, stock of books, book-lending level and different activities for children, youngsters and adults. The consideration has been taken to reasons and consequences of these events. The hermeneutic interpretation model of interaction between parts and wholes, between reasons and results is the basic method in this research which leans mainly upon local archives in Österåker. The public library in Österåker was established in 1952 as a Fusion of previously existing small libraries: the parish library in Östra Ryd, the Labour Movement?s library and the temperance movement?s library.
