In this essay I want to investigate how the poodle strategy affects a person?s credibility when he or she uses it. The poodle strategy is a strategy, which someone uses when he or she is scrutinized by the media. It?s primary purpose is to suppress further media coverage but it is also a strategy for defending oneself and hence rescuing one?s reputation either as a private person or as an official.The essay?s research questions are:How has the strategy been applied for defensive purposes and what are the results?To which extent can the Stasis theory and Benoit?s theory on Apologia be connected to the strategy?Does the strategy affect the user?s credibility?To answer these questions four cases from the political sphere in Sweden where persons have been said to have ?done a poodle? have been analyzed.

The availability of digital models of real 3D objects is becoming more and more important in many different applications (e-commerce, virtual visits etc). Very often the objects to be represented cannot be modeled by means of the classical 3D modeling tools because of the geometrical complexity or color texture. In these cases, devices for the automatic acquisition of the shape and the color of the objects (3D scanners or range scanners) have to be used. The scanner presented in this work, a Shape from silhouette scanner, is very cheap (it is based on the use of a simple digital camera and a turntable) and easy to use. While maintaining the camera on a tripod and the object on the turntable, the user acquires images with different rotation angles of the table.

Hemsjukvårdscentralen began its work from Tunåsens Hospital in Uppsala in 1962, with the purpose to give conomic support to people who nursed their chronic sick relatives in home. Hemsjukvårdscentralen ended its work in 1987, and delivered its archive to the County council of Uppsala in 1988. About half of the archive consisted of medical records of the patients who had received economical support, and many of the archival records was considered as ?work papers?, non-archival records that could be discarded. Two obvious problems emerge from the organizing of the records.

Today?s system to measure the volume in a tank consists of a vertically placed sensor. When a vehicle is tilted the level of the fluid might change and if the volume is calculated based only on the information from the sensor it could result in a incorrect value.This thesis exams a new method to calculate the volume in tanks by using sensor Fusion to crosscheck the i formation from the level sensors when the vehicle is tilted. The information is then used to see if it is possible to identify the grade of tilt by the change of fluid level. If the grade of tilt can be measured then the volume can be calculated in a more accurate way.

For organizations that handle sensitive information, IT governance and information security are necessities in order to maintain credibility and to conduct its business efficiently. There are several known processes to increase security governance ? which is a Fusion of information security and IT governance.This master thesis examines if organizations use recognized processes and if it in that case would lead to higher security. The study is qualitative and conducted in the financial sector and based on Best Practice frameworks of the security governance in Swedish banks. Data collection was done through interviews and surveys that were triangulated to get a gathered picture of the quality of the security governance activities.

The works of crime fiction writer Edogawa Rampo are largely unknown in the West, but have had a considerable impact upon literature and popular culture in his home country of Japan. Rampo?s works are threading on the line between between distinctively Western and distinctively Japanese writing styles and thematic realms, embodying a cultural Fusion which acts as a mirror of the societal and cultural changes that occured in the author?s contemporary Taish? era Japan. This thesis is an attempt to explore Rampo?s literary mindset, and more specifically to attempt to picture and describe Rampo?s self-image as an author of crime fiction active during this time period.

Syftet med uppsatsen var att ta reda på hur organisationer hanterar internt motstånd mot förändringar för att försöka minska skadeverkningarna av detta motstånd vid förändringsarbete. Som undersökningsobjekt valdes Sparbanken Nords kontor i Jokkmokk då de nyligen genomfört en Fusion mellan den dåvarande Nova Sparbank i Jokkmokk och Sparbanken Nord. Intervjuer med alla utom en som var anställda i Jokkmokk under Fusionsarbetet genomfördes. Det genomfördes även en intervju med den dåvarande VD för Nova Sparbank. Det framgick att företaget i fråga skötte personalhanteringen under Fusionen bra med några undantag.

Denna studie har som fokus att identifiera de faktorer som påverkade utgångspunkten för den tänkta Fusionen mellan svenska Telia och norska Telenor samt Fusionen TeliaSonera. Ytterligare skall faktorer som kunde ha underlättat och möjliggjort Fusionen Telia/Telenor besvaras. Dessutom skall Fusionen mellan Telia och finska Sonera studeras och jämföras med den förstnämnda Fusionen för att påvisa vad som gjordes annorlunda under förhandlingarna med Sonera.Detta kommer att undersökas genom ett antal tidningsartiklar kring händelseförloppen samt intervjuer med personer som har kunskap och erfarenhet kring ämnet. De personer som intervjuats är; Lars-Johan Cederlund, ämnesråd/Director på svenska näringsdepartementet, Brita-Lena Ekström, f.d. ekonomijournalist på Dagens Nyheter, Ulf Bäckman, f.d.

This master thesis studies distributed navigation which isa function implemented in a future network based combat information system to improve the accuracy in navigation for combat vehicles in a mechanized battalion, above all in the event of loss of GPS. In the event of loss of the GPS the vehicles obtain dead reckoning performance through the backup system that consists of an odometer and a magnetic compass. Dead reckoning means a drift in the position that makes the accuracy in the navigation worse. The distributed navigation function uses position and navigation data with measurements between the vehicles to estimate the errors and uncertainties in positions, which are used to improve the accuracy in position for the vehicles. To investigate and demonstrate distributed navigation, a simulation environment has been produced in Matlab.

Mergers and Acquisitions have become more and more in common knower days among the companies. Factors that might influence could be such as power of competition or it could even be the aim of new strategies of the company. In mergers is it not only the buildings and the physical objects that is put together, also the human beings within the organization are put together. Each person contributes to the culture, which makes the situation more complicated. In making a merger successful, it is important to pay attention to the organizational culture.

Intresset för Fusioner är stort både bland konsulter, forskare och massmedia i form av radio/TV och affärspress. Samtalen eller diskursen kring Fusioner som massmedia och särkilt affärspressjournalisterna för skulle kunna bidra till att påverka företag att handla på ett visst sätt. Viktigt är alltså att se till hur affärspressjournalisterna uttrycker sig samt vad som uttrycks om Fusioner.Syfte:Syftet är att studera diskursen kring Fusioner för att bidra till en bättre förståelse för fenomenet Fusioner.Avgränsningar:Främst studeras artiklar som har hämtats från affärspress med fokus på de två senaste åren.Genomförande:Uppsatsen är en litteraturstudie vilket betyder att den grundar sig på böcker,  forskningsartiklar, dagstidningar och tidskrifter.Resultat:Affärspressjournalisterna tar stor hänsyn till vad forskare och även i viss mån vad företagsledareoch konsulter uttrycker. Fusioner tenderar att konstrueras redan i ?pratet? kring dem.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka de anställdas vid blivande Linnéuniversitetet stöd för Fusionen av Växjö universitet och Högskolan i Kalmar. Vidare undersöktes bland annat vilken effekt olika faktorer som information, möjligheten att delta samt tilliten till högsta ledningen hade på stödet för Fusionen. En enkätundersökning gjordes med ett slumpmässigt urval med 185 deltagare varav 95 var från Växjö universitet och 90 från Högskolan i Kalmar. Enkäten var baserad på fem mätinstrument: a) Leader-Member Exchange, b) information, deltagande och tillit till högsta ledningen, c) öppenhet för jobbförändringar, d) individens uppfattning av sin egen kunskapsbredd och e) motstånd mot förändring. Resultatet visade att motstånd mot förändring hade negativa samband med information, deltagande och tillit till högsta ledningen.
