Bioenergy from the forest has been heavily debated in Sweden for several decades due to the interest of society to decrease dependence upon fossil fuels and limit the effects of climate change. The actual use of bioenergy from the forest has shifted over the years but increased during the last decades. Private actors within forest and nature conservation sectors play an important role for the development of bioenergy from the forest as well as for the debate and the implementation of political goals. Forestry in Sweden is characterised by ?freedom under responsibility? for private actors and the perspective of governance is valuable for studying actors and discourses.

Arbetet gick ut på att designa och programmera en prototypmobiltelefonmodul till HandyBlue, ett omgivningskontrollsystem för personer med funktionshinder. Rapporten går igenom de olika momenten i modulens utveckling som marknadsundersökning, expertintervjuer, design och implementation och fältester.Programmet fick bra betyg i fälttester och ansågs av samtliga testare som lättanvänt och intuitivt. Slutsatsen är att  genom att hålla målgruppens önskemål i fokus och låta tänkta användare vara delaktiga i utvecklingen i ett tidigt skede, blir slutresultatet en modul som väl uppfyller de krav som ställts på den..

AbstractAt the UN Conference on Environment and Development in 1992 the nations stated that traditional environmental policies were not sufficient to handle the multidimensional challenges posed by sustainable development. Governments needed to broaden their political decision making procedures in order to coordinate and integrate environmental, social and economic policies. Therefore a new tool was introduced in Agenda 21, National Strategies for Sustainable Development (NSDS). The aim of an NSDS would be to bring together actors from all parts of society to jointly reach a consensus on how to work towards the vision of a sustainable society. An NSDS would be seen as a strategic tool to help focus national policies for SD.

Today?s society is one where technological advances are made daily, which increases the need to stop and assess the risks against users? integrity when integrating new technology in contemporary systems all the greater. We have taken two technologies, Near Field Communication and Certified Wireless USB, whose envisioned area of use is to be integrated into mobile phones, and evaluated what security threats are revealed for the respective technologies. The threats against security have been identified through research of the standards and existing reports for each technology. Practical experiments have not been conducted on account of us not having access to any equipment to run such trials.

Men vad vet vi egentligen om hur distansarbete p?verkar motivation och meningsfullhet i arbetet? Det ?r ?mnet som denna studie har unders?kt. Uppsatsen ?r en kvalitativ studie som ?r baserad p? semistrukturerade intervjuer och grundar sig i de tv? teorierna Sensemaking och Job Characteristics model.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att granska hur ett företags arbete överensstämmer med lean service samt ge förslag på hur verksamheten kan förändras för att bättre arbeta enligt lean. Detta görs inom ett begränsat område av företagets serviceverksamhet, hantering och rutiner av nycklar. Studien utförs i ett företag i hiss och rulltrappsbranschen som arbetar med allt från tillverkning och montering till underhåll.Arbetet utförs genom intervjuer med anställda med god spridning av befattning och arbetsuppgifter och observationsstudier av serviceverksamheten i aktuell organisation samt viss benchmarking med annan verksamhet som upplever samma problem.Studien visar att verksamheten har tillgång till en rad verktyg som enligt många definitioner karaktäriseras som lean, men benämns internt till viss del under andra namn. Vidare kan det konstateras att dessa verktyg och rutiner inte implementerats till serviceverksamheten varför lean inte i dagsläget anses tillämpas. Utav detta kan slutsatsen dras att det inte är tillräckligt att utarbeta och ha lean-verktyg tillgängliga för att lean ska tillämpas.

There are today large amounts of contaminated sediments in the Baltic Sea. These contaminants are the result of many years industrial activity where the contaminants have not been taken care of and just released out in the water. When ports want to dredge in their fairways and harbor areas the contaminated sediments need to be considered since they are a environmental risk. The development in this area has been slow and new techniques have just recently made its way into dredging operations in the Baltic Sea region. As a result of this there are no clear methods for implementing new techniques today.

This graduation work is a result of implementing Lean Production using OEE and SMED at Enics Sweden AB in Malmö. Enics doesn?t have an established improvement concept and therefore should this work serve as an introduction to possibly start with Lean Production. A result in this report is that an OEE value has been identified within a common order at Enics. The aim of the principle is to ensure a well functioning internal market that is permeated by free circulation and freedom of establishment.

Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) within the European Union are currently facing many challenges one being access to financing due to high risk and probability of default, another being cross-border taxation issues with double taxation and information asymmetry. Since the aim within the EU is to be the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based economy in the world with sustainable economic growth and social cohesion it is essential that the EU operates as a single market. Despite this need, harmonization continues to be far from achieved in the area of direct taxation which also affects the integration and growth opportunities for SMEs. In the Agenda for Entrepreneurship, the Home State Taxation regime, which is based on formula apportionment, has been proposed by the Commission as one option in order to mutually recognize the different Member States? taxation systems to facilitate cross-border activities and reduce ?red-tape?.

This thesis processes the work of developing CPU code and GPU code for Thomas Kaijsers algorithm for calculating the kantorovich distance and the performance between the two is compared. Initially there is a rundown of the algorithm which calculates the kantorovich distance between two images. Thereafter we go through the CPU implementation followed by GPGPU written in CUDA. Then the results are presented. Lastly, an analysis about the results and a discussion with possible improvements is presented for possible future applications..
