This Master Thesis has been carried out in cooperation with Ursus Medical AB (URSUS) which markets, assembles and sells the Rotex Screw Needle Biopsy Instrument ®. The instrument is delivered with an instrument holder. Customers had expressed dissatisfaction over that they needed to use two hands during a biopsy procedure, which resulted in a project to develop a new instrument holder.The project aim was to create concepts for how the new instrument holder should be designed, with focus on the mechanics. The new instrument holder would build on the existing basic principle that the screw needle and the cannula were screwed into the tissue. The thesis work would result in a technical solution and a functional prototype of the chosen concept.To achieve this, a generic product development processes were used and began with a comprehensive literature review.

Studiens syfte var att beskriva och analysera lärares upplevelser och erfarenheter av arbetet med att motivera elever i behov av särskilt stöd på en fristående gymnasieskola. Frågeställningarna var: Vad innebär begreppet motivation för lärarna? Vilka faktorer upplever lärarna kan påverka elevernas motivation? Vilka arbetsmetoder och pedagogiska verktyg upplever lärare som bra respektive mindre bra ur motivationssynpunkt?Hur kan skolan som helhet utveckla en motiverande lärmiljö för elever i behov av särskilt stöd enligt lärarnas erfarenheter?Metoden bestod av en kvalitativ forskningsintervju med 8 lärare på en gymnasieskola i en större mellansvensk kommun.Resultatet visade att lärarna tyckte motivation är av stor vikt för att eleverna ska lyckas med sina studier på gymnasiet. Lärarna såg inte någon skillnad på motivationsarbetet för elever i behov av särskilt stöd. Faktorer som de ansåg påverka elevernas motivation var individuella, skolrelaterade och faktorer utanför skolan som eleven inte själv kan påverka.

This Master Thesis has been carried out as a new product development project in collaborationwith G-Man Tools AB located in Edsbyn. The purpose of the project was to construct a newpruning saw there the blade is integrateble in the handle, thus a foldable pruning saw.The work has been performed on the occasion of G-Man Tools AB wanted to improve theirproduct range by creating a saw that complement their range of quality saws. They have a similarproduct today, but they do not manufacture this product by them selves and it is not directlytargeted against garden use, which is a disadvantage when it is one of their major markets.Even though almost the entire chain from the requirements of the users to drawings has beentaken into consideration, emphasizes has been put on generating ideas. However the first thingthat was carried out was to establish a productspecifikation from interviews with users and thecompany?s experience.

Syftet med denna rapport är att ta fram en specifikation för ett datorverktyg som visualiserar händelseupptäckt i aktiva databaser.Konventionella databashanteringssystem (DBHS) är passiva i den mening att data är skapad, hämtad, modifierad och raderad endast när en användare eller ett applikationsprogram explicit angivit detta. Många applikationer, såsom process control och power generation/distribution networks, kräver en snabb respons i kritiska situationer, och därför räcker inte ett passivt DBHS till. För dessa applikationer måste man kunna definiera villkor som övervakas av databasen. När dessa villkor sedan uppfylls utförs specificerade åtgärder/handlingar.Consumption modes är ett svårt och komplext område inom aktiva databaser. Som ett resultat av detta finns ett intresse i att använda visualisering för att lättare förstå de olika consumption modes som finns.En prototyp utformades för att fungera som underlag vid de intervjuer som senare genomfördes.

The concept of sustainable development is a challenge that demands cooperation from all levels of society for it to be successful. The focus for this thesis is how politicians within the local councils understand the concept of sustainable development and how they implement it in political decision-making.The basis for the study is a questionnaire that was distributed to 303 local politicians in three municipalities of varying size in Southern Sweden. The study concentrates on departments within the local councils that are directly connected to the Swedish environmental law and the Swedish planning and construction law. One of the primary goals with the aforementioned laws is the achievement of sustainable development within one generation.The outcome of the study was that over half of the local politicians could correctly define sustainable development according to the World Commission on Environment and Development?s (WCED) definition.

Wallyfy is planned to be a social webmagazine with a focus on good content, with a quality check and moderation of the published content. The author of the study provides Wallyfy with thoughts and ideas about the website content and functionality. The main problem of the study was to explore what makes good content in social media for the potential users of Wallyfy, also using this insight to provide Wallyfy with directions for making decisions regarding both functionality and content. The theory of the study is being used as a starting point for understanding the phenomenom social media and to easier grasp the problem. The method of the study is based on user- centered thinking in design, where the author seeks to understand the participant?s emotions, values and dreams.

This essay focus on the social media Twitter and how three Swedish PR practitioners view and use communication strategies for this social media. Twitter was created 2006 and is kind of a new channel in the digital world. The micro blog has over these few years attracted 175 million users across the world. In Sweden there is 91 000 registered users and according to a survey, 11 000 of them are active by tweeting once a day.Twitter is highly current and all kinds of people are using the social media, for example, artists, companies and individuals. Twitter is with its highly number of users building a new market for organizations to find their stakeholders.

Denna studie avser att undersöka hur unga akademiker upplever arbetslöshet, och även att undersöka vilka aspekter av arbetslösheten som är mest problematiska för målgruppen. Vidare syftar studien till att undersöka vilka yrkesrelaterade mål de unga akademikerna har, och vilka hinder de upplever står i vägen för att nå dessa. Sex semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med unga akademiker som är, eller har varit, arbetslösa de senaste två åren. Dessutom användes en insändare från en ung, arbetslös akademiker som empiri. Resultatet visar att de mest problematiska aspekterna av arbetslöshet för målgruppen verkar vara förlusten av tidsstruktur, minskad inkomst som i sin tur leder till uteslutning från vuxenvärlden, känslor av hopplöshet, nedstämdhet, ineffektivitet och ilska.

Banken har genomgått en ständig förändring sedan den etablerades. I början fanns bara bankkontor men idag har den utvidgats med bland annat internetbank, telefonbank och bankomater. Det mesta tyder på att banken kommer att fortsätta att förändras och utveckla sina tjänster och erbjudanden.Vårt syfte med uppsatsen är att beskriva hur banktjänsterna borde ändras utifrån ungdomars bankvanor och syn på banken. Detta för att hänga med i denna förändring och kunna hålla konkurrensen med de andra bankerna. Dagens ungdom är nästa generation ut på bankmarknaden och det är då extra viktiga att ta till sig denna nya målgrupp.Vi har valt att undersöka bankvanor hos ungdomar i årskurs tre på gymnasiet.

The company puts a lot of effort into reducing the energy use of their housing stock. This report shows the process of the development of a sensor module for the seed drills of Väderstad Verken AB. The module is supposed to replace existing solutions, provided that it is better from both a constructional- and an economical aspect. The purpose of the sensor is to continuously give the driver information about the level of height of the front- and drilling tools and the main purpose of the sensor is to allow the seeds to be placed at the desired depth. Microproduction, also called distributed generation, is something that has become more and more popular in the electric grid. Microproduction can however lead to unacceptable performance if several units are installed in the same low voltage network. It is therefore good to know a limit where the performance of the low voltage network becomes unacceptable based on given parameters. This limit is usually called hosting capacity.In this report the hosting capacity with respect to voltage and current have been studied in three low voltage networks which are located in Falu Elnäts concession area. This has been done by simulations in a GIS-program where critical times of the grid have been simulated.
