Abstract In order to make the modern agriculture less dependent on non-renewable external inputs, it has to rely more on ecosystem services. The agricultural system produce not only food, Fiber and fuel, it also generates other ecosystem services such as e.g. photosynthesis, recycling of nutrients, influencing local microclimate, pollination, biological control and detoxification of noxious chemicals. This study is an attempt to get a better understanding about the interaction among different ecosystem services and different habitats capacity to generate them. An evaluation of eight different methods is done. The ecosystem services studied are the ability to absorb solar energy, biomass production, botanical diversity, decomposition and natural predation of aphids.

Hemp is an old agricultural plant and has been used for hundreds of years for making textiles, ropes and other fibre products. In the middle of the last century the Swedish government prohibited all growing of hemp. Natural fibres were replaced by syntetic fibres instead. Today there is a newly awakened interest for using natural fibres from renewable materials. Growing of industrial hemp for Fiber is allowed in Sweden again. I want in my Paper give Swedish growers an insight of which harvesting methods that have been tried in Sweden and how they worked.

The purpose of this report was to obtain an overview of rabbit meat production in the world, in terms of breeding and feeding. It examines how different feed components contribute to the health of the rabbit as well as the quality of the carcass, and the breeding strategies that are most common in the major producing countries. The production of rabbit meat in Sweden is at present not very large, but it is gaining ground, and that is why this paper mainly deals with the rabbit production abroad. This report also examines the disease Rabbit Viral Haermorrhagic Disease (RVHD) in Sweden, where this disease can cause big problems. The rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) is very special, both in its reproduction and digestion. There is no specific mating season and the digestive tract is designed to digest forage efficiently.

Våmacidos är ett sjukdomstillstånd som uppstår då våmmens pH sjunker under det normala. Sjukdomen kan delas in i akut- respektive subakut våmacidos, beroende på grad av pH sänkning. Våmmens mikroorganismer bildar flyktiga fettsyror (VFA) från kolhydrater. Vid våmacidos bildas mer VFA än normalt på grund av för hög konsumtion av lättsmälta kolhydrater (stärkelse), framförallt kraftfoder. Detta resulterar i att våmmens pH sjunker för mycket.

The purpose of this thesis has been to gather knowledge about the complaints of tying-up in horses and to show that the importance of feeding. The thesis includes a literature review of tying-up how preventative measures by feeding can be made. In the equine sport, crosscountry, horses occasionally suffers from tying-up, a muscle disease. An increased knowledge about the disease is demanded by riders and trainers as the disease disrupts training and competition of suffered horses. A cross-country horse works very hard in training and during competitions but the work bouts are long enough for the muscle cells to use aerobic pathways in the metabolism.

This report describes the results of the project "Concept development of jet engine inspection plugs" carried out in the spring of 2008. The work was done at the department of product definition at the company Volvo Aero in Trollhättan. The objective of the work was to develop concepts for a "Volvo-unique" inspection plug. The work is part of Volvo Aero's focus on proprietary (self-developed) technologies. Inspection plugs can be found on virtually all aircraft engines and gas turbines.

When exposed to them, isocyanates can induce serious injuries in the respiratory tract and irritation on the skin and in the eyes. They are therefore interesting from the point of view of occupational health. The purpose of this thesis was to collect isocyanates in air with impinger-filter samplers and solvent free samplers. Furthermore the isocyanates were to be analyzed with liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. The solvent free sampler consists of a polypropylene tube and filter holder fitted with glass Fiber filters impregnated with derivatization reagent, coupled with a pump.

BillerudKorsnäs is a leading global provider of primary Fiber-based packaging materials and on Gruvöns Bruk in Grums, they have chosen to invest millions in the boiler at the facility to increase the total capacity of the factory. This results in the Pulp Flash Dryer at Gruvön being burden more, which makes it important that it is of great reliability and can be run with a high capacity. The reliability of the Pulp Flash Dryer at Gruvön is not as good as one could hope, which leads to reduced availability and production, as well as to increased maintenance costs. There are a number of different reasons for this, but all the casual links are not known.The purpose of this project was to perform a system analysis of the Pulp Flash Dryer to identify bottlenecks and the most critical parts from a capacity- and availability perspective. Appropriate methodology for the system analysis was used and would be used in a structured way to perform the analysis with data from the process and the maintenance system.

På Södra Innovations avdelning för forskning om Fiber och massa har man uppmärksammat ett avvikande beteende på kraft-töjningskurvorna hos kräppat tissue-papper. Kurvan beter sig styvt där det i teorin borde vara töjbar och vice versa. Man vill därför veta vad det är i materialet som bidrar till att detta beteende uppstår och få en förklaring på vad som händer i materialet efter att det har belastats till brott. Detta vill man göra för att fortsatt kunna konkurrera med sin pappersmassa på marknaden och hjälpa sina kunder med deras utveckling av framtidens produkter.Projektet har gått ut på att utföra mätningar i dragprovare på kräppat tissue-papper, tillverkat i fabrik, och jämföra dessa mätningar med prover på okräppat papper, som tillverkas i laboratorium. Mätningarna har spelats in med ett ljusmikroskop för att lättare se vad som händer i materialet när det utsätts för last; vart den initierande sprickan uppstår och hur den tillväxer.Efter att ha analyserat mätdatat från dessa prover kunde man se att den största påverkande faktorn ligger i tillverkningsprocessen.

This report describes the master thesis project ?Weight Optimization of a Composite Chassis for a Multimodal Lightweight Vehicle? which is a part of the Master program in Naval Architecture and a part of a research project at the Centre for Naval Architecture, KTH. Demands on smart and energy efficient transport solutions are continuously increasing. In the Stockholm region the citizens are expected to increase with 25% and the road vehicles with 80% until 2030, putting high demands on the traffic system. Using a small multimodal vehicle deals with this problem and uses both the land and waterways for transportation.

Inledning: Nyckelhålssymbolen infördes i Sverige år 1989 i syfte att hjälpa konsumenter välja hälsosamma livsmedel. Enligt Riksmaten vuxna 2010 ? 2011 äter en stor del av den svenska befolkningen för lite frukt och grönsaker, samt för lite fullkorn och Fiber. Många äter för mycket salt, socker och mättat fett. År 2013 uppgav 98 procent av konsumenterna att de kände till nyckelhålssymbolen.

Vilka aktörer är viktiga för Lekebergs utveckling? Det är den frågeställningen som kommer ligger till grund för denna uppsats i landsbygdsutveckling, vars syfte är att undersöka hur samarbetet mellan kommun och invånare påverkar utvecklingen i bygden. Lekeberg kommun är en utpräglad landsbygdskommun som är belägen två mil utanför Örebro. Lekeberg tillhörde tidigare Örebro kommun men är sedan 1995 en självständig kommun på frammarsch. Kommunen har en positiv befolkningsutveckling och ett aktivt näringsliv varför jag anser att det finns ett intresse i att studera kommunen. Materialet för studien har tagits fram med två olika metoder. Jag har dels intervjuat tjänstemän i Lekebergs kommun som är viktiga för kommunens utveckling, nämligen kommundirektören, förvaltningschefen, verksamhetsledaren för Leader Mellansjölandet, samordnaren för Fiber i Lekeberg samt enhetschefen som är ansvarig för landsbygds- och näringslivsfrågor på länsstyrelsen i Örebro län.

The project ?Investment proposal for grinding station for service work of screw feeders? has been performed during the spring semester 2014 for the course Bachelor?s thesis for degree of  Bachelor of science in machine engineering at Karlstad?s University. The project has been performed in cooperation with Fiber Workshop which is a service department in the company Valmet AB. Valmet AB is a company that develops and manufacture soft paper tissue machines. The screw feeder is a part that is used to feed, and squeeze out the water out of woodchips.

The objective of the present study was to evaluate distillers? dried grains with solubles (DDGS) as a protein source to rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), by studying digestibility and growth measurements. One control diet, totally lacking DDGS, and three test diets were made containing 10 % (low), 31% (medium) and 51 % (high) DDGS respectively on dry matter (DM) basis. The control diet and the test diets were made to be as nutritionally equal as possible. Wheat bran was used to balance the Fiber content of the diets.

Syftet med detta projekt var att studera inverkan av gröda och skördetidpunkt på kemisk sammansättning och vomnedbrytning av neutral detergent fibre (NDF) och torrsubstans (TS) i helsäd samt att jämföra ANKOM DaisyII in vitro-metoden med in situ-metoden med avseende på nedbrytningsförloppet i vommen av NDF och TS i helsäd. Havre, korn, rågvete och vårvete odlades i storrutor med tre upprepningar i fält. Hela försöket upprepades under två år (2002 och 2003). Varje storruta delades upp i två smårutor, som skördades vid tidig mjölkmognad respektive tidig degmognad. In vitro-inkubering skedde med ANKOM DaisyII-inkubator av 48 prover från båda åren.
