In the light of ever increasing international trade around the globe, affecting men and women in all countries, it is surprising that so little attention is given its gender effects. The effects of trade are said to be gender neutral, but could potentially act reinforcing on the existing gender patterns in a society. The aim of this thesis is to examine whether the implications for men and women in relation to trade liberalization can be found to differ. By stylizing some differences between men and women, this is done by examining the theoretical implications mainly via the Heckscher-Ohlin model and through a Beckerian approach. The implications found are then compared with the findings in existing empirical work.

This study aimed to find out whether or not gender related theories regarding the division between men and women can be applied to three novels written by Katrina von Bredow, Syskonkärlek (1991), Som jag vill vara (2007) and Flyga högt (2011). The theories used in this research were Yvonne Hirdman?s theory and R.W Connell?s theory. Hirdman claims that there are differences between men and women at different levels in the society while Connell believes that this is a myth because, according to the writer, men and women are psychologically similar. The intent with this research was to provide a gender analysis of Bredows novels, because these novels have not been studied previously.

Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att hitta olika omvårdnadsåtgärder som kan ersätta eller reducera läkemedelsbehandling hos dementa patienter. Den medicinska behandlingen syftade på neuroleptika, lugnande och antidepressiva läkemedel. Studien baserades på tio artiklar från tre olika databaser. I resultatet framkom att många omvårdnadsåtgärder minskar agitation/aggressionsbeteenden men också graden av depression. Interaktionen mellan patient och vårdgivare förbättrades genom ökad kommunikation, vilket gav ett förbättrat stämningsläge.

The aim of this study was to, with a social constructivistic approach, examine how parents,regarded as neglecting their children, are depicted in 12 LVU-legal cases from the Supreme Administrative Court in Sweden. By using a document analysis influenced by discourse analytical tools, we found that there are repeated descriptions of the parents, which constructs an image of parents as shortcoming in the care of their children. The categories lack of emotions, mental disorder, substance abuse and physical maltreatment were the main reasons for child neglect that the parents were described from. Attitudes towards authority, aggression and immaturity, lack of insight, and deficiencies in the home were repeated in the description of the parent. We further found that mothers were regarded as more responsible of the children compared to fathers.

The standard housing of farmed mink provides little opportunities for them to behave naturally and abnormal behaviours such as stereotypic behaviour and tail biting may occur. To prevent abnormal behaviours animals in captivity are often provided with different kinds of enrichments. The aim of this study was to investigate what kind of enrichment farmed mink use when they have several kinds to choose from and to observe if abnormal behaviours can be decreased with a larger cage and a more multifaceted environment. Totally 20 silver blue, 10 months old female mink were kept in traditional cages (80x30x40 cm) for 7 days and in larger cages (195x80x40 cm) with several types of enrichments for 7 days. The enrichments were wire net- and wooden shelves, wire net- and plastic cylinders, water bath, plastic ropes, branches, straw and tennis balls. One-zero scan sampling on behaviour and choice of place were performed during 3 hours and 20 minutes prior to feeding during 7 days per treatment in April 2004.

I föreliggande arbete redovisas en studie gjord för att försöka se hur olika forskare ser på ett intoleransproblem, ett socialt fenomen som mobbning. Hur definieras begreppet och skall problemet lösas på individ- grupp- eller samhällsnivå? Hur kan den praktiskt verksamme pedagogen använda sig av de arbetssätt som idag finns? Angreppsättet i studien bygger uteslutande på dokument. Det är alltså text som utgör mitt empiriska material. Forskningslitteraturen representeras av väl erkända författare.

Hästar är flocklevande djur i det vilda, trots detta hålls de i fångenskap ofta ensamma under stora delar av dygnet. Att hästar hindras från att ha fysisk kontakt med andra individer är inte ovanligt. Många hästägare är rädda för att deras häst ska komma till skada då de går i hage tillsammans med andra hästar. Den här litteraturstudien syftar till att ta reda på hur hästens sociala beteende påverkas av olika inhysningsformer och skötselrutiner. Utöver svaren på detta syftar översikten också till att avgöra om hästägarnas rädsla för skador på sina djur orsakade av andra hästar är befogad. Tama hästar tillbringar färre timmar om dagen med att äta och att förflytta sig jämfört med vilda hästar.

I vården drabbas upp till 60 % av personalen av våld och hot i Sverige, vilket kan komma att påverka den vård som bedrivs och tillgängligheten på den. Syftet med studien var att belysa hur sjuksköterskan hanterar våld och aggression i vården samt att beskriva vilket ansvar organisationen har i det våldsförebyggande arbetet. Studien genomfördes som en litteraturstudie där 16 vetenskapliga artiklar bearbetades och sammanfattades i tre kategorier: organisatoriska strategier för att förebygga våld, sjuksköterskans strategier i våldsamma situationer och våldets inverkan på sjuksköterskans omvårdnad. Organisationen har ansvar att utbilda sin personal, däribland sjuksköterskor. Om sjuksköterskan får tillräcklig utbildning kan det bidra till att de våldsamma situationerna upptäcks i tid och kan förhindras.
