The aim of this study is to investigate the discourses of widening recruitment to higher education in some political documents from the 21st century. The scientific method applied is critical discourse analysis as developed by Norman Fairclough. This implies the analyses of the actual texts, the social practice as well as the discursive practice, i.e. the conditions under which the texts are produced, distributed and consumed.The major results include four discourses: a post-modern discourse, a neoliberal economic discourse, a political discourse of multi-culturalism and a modern discourse with its roots in the 20th century?s discussions about social imbalance in recruitment to higher education.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine how the elderly people experience the food on a sheltered accommodation. We will examine nutrition in the food and if the elderly people have an influence on food they gets everyday. The aim of this study was to examine older persons? everyday experiences of food within the context of homes for the elderly. More specifically, nutrition and the personal experiences of influence concerning choice of food were examined.

This thesis is a qualitative study in which 12 award-winning printed adverts, awarded with either a Swedish ?GuldÀgg? or an international Clio Award, have been analyzed from a rhetorical perspective. Visual rhetorics were used to analyze the adverts in order to expose the rhetorical concepts and to find out whether the rhetorical concepts represented in the Swedish adverts are the same concepts represented in the international adverts. One of the conclusions drawn is that pathos-arguments, a rhetorical concept where the senders allude to the emotions of the receivers, are the most prominent in both Swedish and international adverts, but are used in different ways. Another conclusion drawn is that the adverts are overall characterized by their messages not being explicit.

Syftet med denna uppsats var att undersöka hur begreppet energi skulle kunna anvÀndas som en förklaringsfaktor i historieundervisningen. Vi har studerat lÀroböckerna i olika nedslag, valda utifrÄn relevant miljöhistorisk forskning, för att se i vilken utstrÀckning och pÄ vilket sÀtt historielÀroboksförfattare anvÀnder sig av energi som en förklaringsfaktor. UtifrÄn lÀroböckerna och forskningen har vi diskuterat hur begreppet energi skulle kunna vara en central förklaringsfaktor i den historiska förÀndringsprocessen. Undersökningens resultat visade att lÀroboksförfattare i relativt hög grad anvÀnder sig implicit av energibegreppet i sina framstÀllningar, Àven explicita exempel förekommer.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the narrative in You are a bad man, mr Gum! to be able to understand and explain the intermedial aspects of the work. I assume an intermedial, narratological and reception theory perspective in my analysis. The method of close reading is used combined with a reader-oriented perspective. I examine the medial aspects of the chosen work through the pictures, the text, and the iconicity of the typographical pattern of the text. To reach my goal, the following questions are dealt with: What is the character of the narration? How do the various media interact in the production of meaning? What is the relationship between the text and the implicit reader? What is the narratological difference between reading the book aloud and silently? The theoretical framework f the paper consists of narratological and intermedial theories.

The aim of this thesis is to examine representations of masculinity in the activities of a local professional wrestling promotion. After briefly outlining what professional wrestling is, the study draws on a body on feminist and intersectional theory which critiques the notion of gender as a binary and essential category. The material comprises 10 recorded shows and oth- er material published on Sthlm Wrestling?s website between 2010 and 2013, and is analyzed using a qualitative methodology derived from cultural studies. The thesis argues that there are many different types of masculinities in the narrative, which are constructed in relation to different power hierarchies such as ethnicity, class, sex and sexuality.

HÀr gÄr jag igenom sexuella inskrifter, tolkningar och översÀttningar samt diskuterar skriftbruket i en tid dÄ runskriften levde sida vid sida med latinskrift. Syftet har varit att vara sÄ rakt pÄ sak som möjligt i presentationen av runinskrifterna. Materialet innefattar ett 50-tal inskrifter, vilka finns samlade i ett inskriftsregister lÀngst bak.

The magazine?s own explicit purpose is to break down the unhealthy opinion of what beauty is in their industry today. By content and linguistic analysis the results of this study are interconnected to the beauty myth as it was established by Naomi Wolf in 1991. The goal is to pinpoint how VeckoRevyn?s question and answer columns construct relationships to their readers, and the mythologies that they maintain.

Grammatikundervisningens plats i skolan har förÀndrats genom historien och denna uppsats har för avsikt att undersöka om begreppskunskapen Àr viktigare Àn nyttan för elever med svenska som modersmÄl i grammatikundervisningen pÄ gymnasieskolan idag. Med hjÀlp av en kvantitativ enkÀtundersökning utreds gymnasiepedagogers syn pÄ ?grammatik? och grammatikundervisning. I definitionen av ?grammatik? framkommer mest frekvent av respondenterna att det handlar om sprÄkets uppbyggnad, sprÄkets struktur och en medvetenhet om sprÄkriktighet.

Syftet med den hÀr studien var att undersöka hur fritidspedagoger uppfattar den aktuella situationen rörande samverkan och ansvar inom sÄvÀl grundskolan som fritidshemmet. Tanken med studien var Àven att belysa deras Äsikter och medvetenhet kring fritidshemmets integrering i skolan och det nya kravet pÄ lÀrarlegitimation. Studien har utgÄtt frÄn en kvalitativ metod och med kvalitativ intervju som verktyg. I resultatet visar respondenterna en generellt god insikt kring ansvar och samverkan. Samtliga upplever en god samverkan lokalt men tror att situationen ser annorlunda ut nationellt.
