The aim of this study was to find out if the use of the concepts ?terrorism' and ?organized crime' has changed after the event on 11 September, 2001 when terrorists attacked World Trade Center and Pentagon. In this study I make use of discourse theory in a way which is inspired by the writings of Winther Jorgensen and Phillips. Knowledge acquired through this research has been primarily generated from two Swedish Government Official Reports concerning questions arising from introducing secret police surveillance. In these reports, there are many opinions from authorities whom have given their thoughts on introducing new ways of policing which are very interesting to analyze.

The purpose of my essay is on one hand to research and evaluate the measures that one intermediate school in Sweden, uses in order to prevent bullying and stop it in the event that one pupil happens to get bullied or harassed. In other words, I would like to show how that school is capable of creating a safe environment. Qualitative research is used to obtain these findings.On the other hand, I also wish to examine what pupils at the school think about these measures and how they perceive the attitudes of the school?s teachers and management regarding the prevention of bullying. In order to acquire this information quantitative research is used.The conclusions that I draw after conducting my research are as follows:1- Regarding the ?Anti ? bullying Performance Plan?, my essay shows that school teachers and management actively work in order to maintain a safe environment and as a result bullying is successfully prevented the school.

All my short stories have been written in an intuitive way according to which no outline of characters, intrigue or plot was made in advance. A consequence of this process is that not even myself as the author is aware of the meaning of the texts and therefore I too have to interpret the stories. Because of the character of the text, I use an analysis of archetypes according to C. G. Jung?s analytic psychology.

The gas turbines in the Swedish secondary reserve are reaching the end of their technical lifetime, hence alternative solutions need to be considered. One of the solutions thought to have the greatest potential is the use of so called consumptionreduction. By entering contracts with large consumers, agreements are made to reduce consumption in the event of major disturbances in the power system and thus being used as a secondary reserve. This thesis investigates the feasibility of consumption reduction as part of the secondary reserve. This has been achieved by developing a requirement specification for the disturbance reserve and by studying the technical and economic potential for consumption reduction among a range of consumers.The technical potential for consumption reduction that fulfils the requirements for participating in the secondary reserve are on average 750 MW in SE 3 and 98 MW in SE 4.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att studera festivalen Piteå Dansar och Ler (PDOL) utifrån dess image och experiencescape samt att lägga fram förbättringsförslag för PDOL utifrån dessa begrepp. Ordet experiencescape beskriver området inom vilket en vara eller tjänst produceras och konsumeras. Många av festivalerna i Sverige genomgick en kris under åren 2009-2010 och redovisade stora förlustsiffror, men det var även vissa festivaler som lyckades skapa vinst. Vårt studieobjekt PDOL var en av de festivaler som redovisade förlustsiffror i miljonklassen dessa år och hotades med nedläggning. PDOL valde att inför 2011 fortsätta med festivalen efter en omorganisering.

Uppsatsens syfte är att studera hur fem individer, på en specifik arbetsplats, upplever att arbeta tillsammans i ett team samt vilken effekt teambuilding har på relationerna i gruppen. Studien är gjord med en kvalitativ ansats, där intervjuer och observationer har utgjort det inhämtade materialet. Efter att teamet varit iväg på en ?kick-off?, som kan liknas till ett teambuilding event, och tagit del av motivations och inspirations samtal, upplevde respondenterna att de förstärkt teamet och förde dem samman. Denna studie undersöker vad det är som egentligen håller ihop en grupp individer med olika bakgrunder och som till mesta dels spenderar tid tillsammans under arbetstid och på arbetsplatsStudien visar att det finns likheter mellan Goffmans teorier om ett teams gemensamma mål samt rollframträdande.

Syftet med denna kandidatuppsats är att studera hur den Olympiska parken i Peking respektive London planeras för att hantera de Olympiska spelen samt hur de planerats för att användas efteråt. Vidare är syftet att se vilka förutsättningar och vilken problematik som därefter uppstår. Undersökningen har skett genom en kvalitativ innehållsanalys av den Olympiska parken i Peking respektive London. Resultatet från studien har därefter analyserats och diskuterats utifrån ett par teoretiska huvudpunkter som är viktiga vid planeringen av mega-event. Planeringen av de Olympiska spelen är ett komplext projekt med många olika aspekter att ta hänsyn till. Detta då det bl.a.

Mobbing är ett socialt problem. Därför skapades denna studie för att se om samband råder mellan mobbad, mobbare och personlighetsegenskaper. Dessutom gjordes en könsfördelning för att se om det råder några signifikanta skillnader i händelse, kön och personlighet. För att få svar på dessa syften ställdes frågorna: Hur ser mobbingen ut och vilka drabbas? Har kön och personlighetsegenskaper någon betydelse för om man blir mobbad eller utsätter andra för mobbing? Till hjälp användes en kvantitativ undersökningsmetod.

AbstractThe purpose of this essay is to investigate the priority rules in the event of termination due to redundancy, the rules functions according to the Swedish labour market and which other alternatives that exist besides the priority rules. The alternatives to the priority rules which are introduced in the essay are the Danish Flexicurity-model and a proposal from the Långtidsutredningen 2011. The rule of priority is a very controversial law at the Swedish labour market, which makes the essay also describing the criticism against the rules. The criticism that the essay presents claims that the rules of priority contribute to immobility effects for particularly older employees. Further on the essay presents the criticism towards the rules, that they disadvantage young employees on the labour market.  The essay investigates also what the researchers say about the criticism.The results that are presented in the essay points to the fact that the rules of priority contributes to the immobility effects of employees but the rules can not be claimed to be the only reason.

This essay is a survey of thirteen user studies performed in the field of image retrieval. The purpose is to try to distinguish principles that should be kept in mind when wanting to make image databases available for a wide and varied group of users. The essay tries to answer two questions, namely: Are there any results in accordance among the different studies? What in the user studies should be considered when it comes to how content description, interface and functions for searching can be designed when creating systems for image retrieval? Each study is first reviewed on its own, and then a comparative analysis of all the studies is carried out. Derived from the result of this analysis, the conclusion is presented in the form of a row of suggestions to which aspects are to be suitably included in the design of image databases.

I takt med expanderingen av evenemangsturism växer även kraven på säkerhetshanteringen i samband med evenemangen. Hot som huliganism är vanligt förekommande vid vissa evenemang och behöver handskas med för att undvika eventuella påverkningar på besöksnäringen. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur aktörer arbetar kring säkerhet inför och under evenemang för att säkerställa individens hälsa i omständigheter där huliganism är närvarande och ofredar besöksnäringen. Fortsättningsvis vill vi även komma fram till vilken grad huliganismen påverkar besöksnäringen och i sådana fall, på vilket sätt. För att kunna svara på syftet och våra frågeställningar, har vi använt oss av en kvantitativ undersökning som hjälpt oss att påvisa denna företeelse.

This thesis explores how public art is received by the general public in Borås, Sweden. As a point of departure it was assumed that a study of the local papers would offer an accurate insight in to the debate of public art. Hence, press clippings were chosen as primary source material together with the works of art. The questions addressed in the study are: what is written in the local daily press about public art? Who writes in or makes statements to the local dailies about public art? Textual analysis is the predominant method employed while hermeneutics is the underlying theory.

I denna uppsats kommer vi undersöka hållbara musikfestivaler. Syftet är att få en djupare förståelse om arrangörernas och besökarnas roll inom hållbara musikfestivaler. Vi har inriktat oss på tre musikfestivaler i Sverige, Öland Roots, Urkult och Way Out West för att undersöka hur och varför de arbetar med sådan hållbar utveckling. Det som även kommer att undersökas är besökarnas roll inom hållbarhetsområdet. Genom telefonintervjuer har vi fått en uppfattning om arrangörernas roll inom hållbarhetsarbetet.
