Kalkningens påverkan på fosforlöslighet : skakförsök baserade på två svenska långliggande kalk- och fosforgödslingsförsök
Eutrophication is an environmental problem that affects more than ten percent of Swedish lakes. Excess nutrients increase the growth of algae, and cause major problems in the ecosystem through oxygen-free bottoms, fish kills, and at worst dead bottoms. Agriculture accounts for 44% of human emissions of phosphorus to lakes and rivers. Leaching occurs of particle bound phosphorus and of dissolved
phosphate. The amount of phosphate in the soil solution that may be leached is partly due to the prevailing pH in the soil solution.
The purpose of this study was to investigate how the relationship between phosphate solubility and pH was affected by liming.

Husaberg Scandinavia AB is a company producing and developing a range of motorcycles for both on- and off-road use. Husaberg provided the project group with a task of developing an entirely new way of operating the sequential transmission that can be found in today?s motorcycles. The target was to bring the product from idea to a functional prototype ready for further tests. Operation of the motorcycles transmission is today made by a foot pedal placed on the left hand side of the bike.
LCA av dricksvattendesinfektion : en jämförelse av klor och UV-ljus
Disinfection methods for drinking-water produced at the two water works of Stockholm Water Co are compared in this study. Three different nethods are compared; disinfection with chlorine gas, disinfection with sodium hypochlorite and disinfection with UV-light and monochloramine. The method used is Life cycle assessment, LCA. LCA is defined as the compilation and evaluation of the inputs, outputs and potential environmental impact of a product system shroughout its life cycle. The environmental burden is compared for the three different disinfection methods.

The real estate company Ihus is facing an expansion of its comfort cooling in Noatun,Uppsala, to provide the buildings in the block with cooling. The buildings in Noatunare mainly used for office premises, where the requirements for an accepted indoorclimate is great. However, it?s uncertain whether Ihus should continue, as currently,producing comfort cooling by themselves using a compressor chiller, or if they shouldconnect themselves to Vattenfall?s district cooling net.The purpose of this report is to examine which technique of cooling is best suited forIhus and their buildings in Noatun. It should also work as a guideline for othercompanies facing the same problem as Ihus.
Optimization of Burner Kiln 7, Cementa Slite
In this report focus is put on the combustion process at a cement plant. Combustion is the
heart of the cement making process and absolutely crucial to have under full control and well
optimized.
The fuel is put into the process through a burner pipe and this burner pipe is modified to
reach a more efficient combustion. The primary target is to enable burning of heterogeneous
alternative fuels and increase the production level. Other positive effects from this type of
optimization is lowered specific fuel consumption and lowered CO2 emissions.
A redundant burner is chosen for the project and overall the project steps are the following:
1. Installing a Jet air nozzle ring in a way so it can move both axially and radially due to
temperature changes.

Emissions of insufficiently treated wastewater, mainly blackwater (i.e. wastewater from toilets), contributes to the eutrophication of lakes and seas. At the same time, blackwater is a fraction with a low content of heavy metals and, after sanitization, it can recirculate plant nutrients to arable land using the liquid composting treatment method. Liquid composting means that organic material is degraded under aerobic conditions. For sanitization, the blackwater needs to be treated together with energy-rich complementary material.

This work will concentrate on one of the projects going on within theorganisation which is travel-free meetings, where they are building a video meeting system thatallows the employees in the organisation to be able to meet with each other through the use ofvideoconferencing instead of physical meetings.In this work we will show how Kaikaku (radical system changes) along with Kaizen (continuouschange) can support an organisation to become more efficient and reduce wastage. We have donethis work in an organisation that is present in over one hundred locations in Sweden.The Social Insurance Agency has over 13 000 employees at over one hundred locations inSweden.The organisation has to be close to their customers and provide the best service aspossible. To be able to work in a uniform way, the employees get together and have meetings.Some meetings are just progress meetings and takes perhaps no more than two hours to complete.However, if seven employees from seven different locations need to have meetings, in the worstcase, they all have to meet in a common place.This is expensive for the organisation in travel costs, time and absence from work, but thetravelling also contributes to environmental pollution if the employees are travelling by a fuelpoweredvehicle.A whole day could go lost for having a meeting in about two hours if all sevenemployees went from their own cities to e.g. Stockholm for the meeting.Muda (wastage) of travel created several different types of Muda, namely:? SammanfattningScanias lastbilar har under de senaste åren haft en snabb utveckling när det gäller elektronik och styr - reglerteknik. En givare som inte har haft samma utveckling är yttertemperaturgivaren som introducerades i Scanias lastbilar 1987. Totalt finns det idag 10 olika ECU-system som använder sig av givarsignalen. Det har visat sig att yttertemperaturgivaren i Scanias lastbilar visar för högt värde i vissa körfall. Stora avvikelser på yttertemperaturvärdet har inte varit ovanliga när motorn har varit varm och lastbilen färdats i hastigheter under 30 km/h eller kör på tomgång, till exempel vid ett rödljus.
Analys av framtidens system för hantering av avloppsvatten och matavfall i Eskilstuna
Wastewater treatment is increasingly controlled by the Swedish environmental quality objectives, adopted by the Swedish parliament. There is a need for a sewage system that can fulfill stringent requirements concerning the environment, recycling and resource use and hygiene. Additional environmental aspects in recent years are the impact of climate change, new knowledge about the effects of pharmaceuticals in water, the need for improved wastewater treatment and increased recycling of nutrients to agriculture. This report has, from a future scenario of the year 2050, analyzed seven different systems for wastewater treatment and treatment of compostable biowaste from households in Eskilstuna. A future scenario was chosen based on that within a forty year period new challenges may arise which can result in higher demands on sewage treatment than those we see today. Another reason why the future scenario was established is that changes in wastewater treatment systems are slow to establish. The analysis is mainly focused on the economical aspects but environmental aspects such as emissions to receiving waters and potential recycling of plant nutrients has also been evaluated briefly.

Buildings worldwide account for 40 % of the total energy use. Climate change is of increasing importance, but few are willing to reduce their standard of living or get a higher cost for the change. Energy efficiency of existing buildings gives the greatest benefit economically and environmentally. The real estate company Klövern AB manages 46 properties in Karlstad. Heating is the major cost of the total operating costs of real estate. Rising energy prices increase the need for Klövern AB to improve energy efficiency and to investigate alternative sources of heat.

Abstract This degree project examines how much carbon dioxide that emits during the construction phase of a road project. This is to make it possible to compare how the amount of carbon dioxide differentiates between traditional road construction and Swepave construction, which is PEAB?s alternative way to design roads. To make the comparison a calculation tool has been produced. To compare the amount of carbon dioxide emissions a reference project was needed.
Metoder för mätning och simulering av bränsle förbrukning och emissioner från tunga fordon
Vägverket och Energimyndigheten har ombett AVL MTC att undersöka metoderför att mäta och simulera bränsleförbrukning och utsläpp för tunga fordonuttryckt i gram per kilometer (avstånds specifikt)AVL MTC publicerade år 2000 en rapport som visade en mycket god korrelationmellan statiska motor körcykler körda på motordynamometer och som sedansimuleras på en chassidynamometer för tunga fordon [15]. Rapporten visadeäven att korrelationen mellan en transientakörcykler som körts både påmotordynamometer och sedan simuleras på en chassidynamometer inte varlika god. Tester som utförs på en motordynamometer är mycket mer direktverkande på testobjektet. När motorn är monterad i ett fordon som sedantestats på en chassidynamometer kommer den att fungera som ett merdynamiskt system, tackvare exempelvis påverkan av drivlinan tillsammans medväxellåda och däck. Även tester på väg som utförts på AVL MTC visar att vissatunga motorer förbrukar mer bränsle och släpper ut mer emissioner när de ärmonterad i tunga fordon, som körs under verkliga körförhållanden, jämfört medmotorns certifieringsprovningsresultat.
Biogasproduktion genom tvåstegsrötning av drankvatten
During the 19-century a global warming has been observed, which includes increases in global air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting of ice and snow, and rising global sea level. There is a clear connection between emissions of greenhouse gases caused by the human and the increase in temperature. Climatic changes caused by global warming can be stopped trough decreased emission of fossil fuels, for example by an increased use of biogas. Biogas is a renewable energy source which is produced through anaerobic (oxygen free) digestion of organic material. The gas is a mixture of methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) and can be among others used as fuel in vehicles.
